Star Struck

If you enjoyed looking at the stars this tour is for you. Jeff was our guide for this tour and he was extremely knowledgeable about the observatories at the top of Mauna Kea. I was amazed at how many different observatories there were at the top of the mountain. After watching the sunset we drove down about a thousand feet where Jeff then set up two telescopes for us to view the stars through. Through the telescopes, we got to see the Omega centauri globula star cluster, the Dumbbell nebula, the Eagle nebula and the Ring nebula just to name a few. He also explained and showed us how to find the different stars in the sky. It was quite amazing. Be prepared because it can be very cold at the top of the mountain. They did supply us with parkas and gloves. But I recommend definitely long pants and a sweater or sweat shirt for under the parka. It can be very windy at the top.

This was truly a...

This was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience and one of the most unforgettable nights of our trip! Watching the sunset from the summit of Mauna Kea was absolutely breathtaking. The views were unlike anything we had ever seen. Kella was an AMAZING guide! She was so knowledgeable throughout the entire tour and took the most incredible photos for us, giving us beautiful memories to take home from such a special experience. As if the sunset wasn’t amazing enough, we were lucky enough to see a volcano erupting in the distance and even spotted shooting stars across the night sky. Standing on top of Mauna Kea surrounded by such incredible scenery felt completely surreal. From the breathtaking sunset to the volcano, shooting stars, and amazing photos, this was a night we will cherish forever. An absolute must-do on the Big Island!

Incredible ! Will remember this experience forever

First and foremost- it’s cold. The tour so kindly provides gloves, ski jacket and pants, it may be good to bring a beanie and maybe a layer of fleece or heat tech. To be able to view the blanket of stars was awe inspiring and magical. Definitely worth it!!! I can see myself joining this tour again with family next time .

Manta Ray!

Amazing experience. Manta's actually swim so close they actually bump up against you. At one pont there were five vying for the plankton in front of us. It was combat feeding. No worries though they are extremely docile. So graceful in how they glide through the water doing acrobatics that would make Cirque du Soleil members jealous. The crew made it a very a enjoyable trip all the way up to the choice of music on the ride there and back. Crew was very informative, professional and entertaining throughout. Excellent trip....a highlight for us. A must do.

Amazing sunset, good, staff and the dolphins were a major bonus!

We had read reviews before hand and excited about the possibility of seeing dolphins. Wasn’t looking like we would and out of nowhere we saw a massive school of dolphins, they put on a full show for us spinning all around. Truly beautiful! The chicken teriyaki was delicious. Another reviewer said it was like an appetizer, no it’s a full meal, it ended being our dinner. Staff was friendly and sharing cool facts. Although it was a little overcast the sunset was still very beautiful! Great deal and experience!

Best of Hilo is accurate!

This was a great trip that maximized our time in Hilo. We loved it and the variety was great. Our tour guide Ernie was the best! He even got an extra stop in there as he was able to keep the pace just right for us. We felt the timing was just right- there were a few in our group that had wished for more time at the Volcanos or black sand beach.

We had such an amazing experience on this tour! It all started with our guide, Ian who was both knowledgeable about the history of the Island and had an awesome personality with great stories to tell! We lucked out and had a beautiful day, there was inly one stop that was hard to see because of light rain and fog. It was hard to pick a favorite stop, the black sand beach and Volcano National Park just beyond words. On the way back to Kona we had a slight bit of rain and then all of a sudden the sun popped out and we had a full rainbow 🌈. In immediately asked if he could pull over and took pictures of all of us standing in front of the rainbow, it was epic! I highly recommend Wasabi Tours.

It was a great afternoon! The guides were terrific. Super knowledgeable, entertaining and accommodating. Captain Cook was a perfect place to snorkel and see many fish. We found dolphins on the way home and got to hang out watching and taking videos of them. Highly recommend this trip.

Not much more to say that everyone else hasn't mentioned! Great activity if you're roadtripping toward Hilo for the day. The first few zips were short which is great for younguns and new zipliners. The views over the river and forest were lovely. The final zip was over a gorgeous waterfall!! Guides kept us safe and entertained. fun activity on this side of the island

Great experience!!

We loved our flight and our pilot was excellent. We couldn’t get to the volcano because of rain but he took us over the lava fields, waterfalls, river and part of Hilo. Told us so much stuff during the flight we didn’t even need to use the mic to ask any questions. The ladies helping with take off and landing were super helpful to get us on our flight and extremely nice. Cookie was great! I would take this flight again when visiting Hawaii. First time in a helicopter and was a wonderful experience.
