This is a small farm that is very interesting. The beekeeper leading the tour was a great story teller which helped engage my family in the experience. It was also very interesting to watch him shake the bees off of the screen and not get stung. He wore long pants and short sleeve shirt with no face netting. This is a very interesting tour! I highly recommend this tour. I did not feel like there was a high probability of being stung even though we were feet from the hives.

Very interesting and informative. The tour guide was extremely engaging-he interacted with everyone very well. At times his humor was a little over the top but all in all it was nice.

Bee's Master class for the rest of us

Joseph_R, Oct 2025
Big Island Bee's is a NOT MISS opportunity not only learn about bee's but to spend a couple of hours with Joe who is a walking and talking encyclopedia of Bee’s, live in front of you. He is funny and engaging while teaching you this delicate world of a bee's life. It’s safe if you are wondering. No bees were hurt during our tour (See how I made it about the Bee's Joe). I was so looking forward to this tour and it did not disappoint.... Don’t get me started about the store.... Many different types of honey (which you sample). Will change the way you feel about bee's...

Visit with grandaughter

Our guide was great, super knowledgeable and answered every question our 6 year old granddaughter had. We learned lots of interesting facts and the tasting was a great way to end the visit. We were even able to see the Queen bee.

Look mom no protective gear!

Fabulous beekeeping tour on the Big Island

The tour guide, Joe, was hands down the best we’ve ever had and we’ve taken many tours! He was so informative and made it fun. He was a crack-up. Give the man a bonus please. We learned so much about bees in general and also about beekeeping. We live in Utah which is the “beehive state” so it was all very relevant for us.

Loved it!!!

I loved the tour guide and how he kept it exciting and relatable with a lot of jokes. I was shown the queen been which I would never have known what she looked like. The tastings were amazing. Very informative

Fun, safe, delicious

Extremely knowledgeable and friendly (and funny!) guide shows a small example of the beekeeping operation and explains everything there is to know about bees, pollination, honey, etc. And the honey samples were delicious!

Learning about beekeepers

Interesting presentation but very limited restroom facilities. Be sure to plan ahead accordingly. This is a 1.5 hour learning experience. Location is a bit remote.

Amazing Experience

Debbie_C, Dec 2021
Our grandson and daughter came to visit. Our grandson is starting a bee hive at his home in Oregon and was so excited to see the bee farm in Hawaii. We all learned a lot about bee's. The whole presentation, between the tour, the video learning about bees worldwide, how important they are to our eco system, and actually seeing the hives was amazing! We saw a Queen Been and saw a bee being born from the hive. Wow, a must see for anyone We also loved the shop and picked up a lot of great items.

Great bang for the buck!

The fantastic enthusiasm with the presentation. Very educational and informative. I would definitely recommend this tour.

We ❤️ Big Island Bees

Nadine_H, Aug 2021
This is our second trip and tour to Big Island Bees. It was like a whole other tour this time. Our guide was so knowledgeable. It was like a MasterClass in Bees. The honey is fabulous. We really enjoyed ourselves. The last trip, my now teen-aged son was cured of his bee phobia. We love Big Island Bees.
