Had a great time on a ghost tour in DC. It was the perfect mix of history and storytelling, with a relaxed one-hour walk around the White House and nearby landmarks. The ghost stories were genuinely interesting without feeling over the top, and added a fun layer to places you’d normally just walk past.
Our guide, Brad, was knowledgeable and kept things engaging the entire time. He shared a lot of historical context along with the stories, which made the experience feel more meaningful than just a typical tour.
Definitely worth doing if you want something a little different while in DC.

He was on time. It was my first ghost tour and will be my last. He had clearly stated everything so many times, that his delivery was fast and rote. We did see some interesting places and I enjoyed that. I actually canceled my ghost tour in the next city. Too bad. This was the one thing my husband wanted to try.

Our guide didn't seem very experienced. Seemed nervous. Just told history stories of the landmarks and not very in depth into the ghost stories.

We did our ghost tour with John on the 17th of June. He was informative, passionate, and super fun! We had such a good time listening to all the neat stories and watching his reenactments was the best! I will absolutely recommend this tour to my friends and family.

Our tour guide, Tony, spoke loudly enough for our group to hear him clearly throughout. He also pointed out good times to take photos of the buildings he spoke of and shared fun facts of some streets and statues, unrelated to ghosts, but still interesting to hear about. He offered to take pictures of people in front of the white house with their friends or family that were part of the tour and made himself available for questions throughout while sprinkling in some jokes every once in a while.

The tour could have been fascinating with a combination of tales and history, but our tour guide clearly was not into his job. He had a monotone and no inflection, which made every story so uninteresting. He has abruptly ended the tour. I've been on several ghost tours in different cities as a way to combine the history I am interested in with stories that keep my children intrigued, and this was by far the most disappointing.

I was very disappointed. The tour was over $80 for our family of 4, but was probably only worth about $20 in total. It did last for an hour, but we only walked about 1/4 of a mile. Our guide was enthusiastic, but mostly talked about injustice against various populations including indigenous people, women, slaves, etc. While these are important topics they had NOTHING to do with ghosts. He shared a few fun ghost stories, but they got lost in all his rhetoric. At the end he mentioned that there was an extended tour that we could pay another $7 per person ($28) to join. Most of the tour, including us, chose not to continue. We chose not to continue because we were tired of the lack of ghost content coupled with hearing about the unfairness of colonialism. Again, there is absolutely a time and place for those conversations, but he didn’t even tie them into the ghost theme. Very frustrating, a waste of time and money. Note—Our guide was nice. He should just be leading tours about the topics he is passionate about and leave the ghost tours to someone else. In other words, he should have listened to his dad. His dog Joey (AKA TJoey) was very cute and very well behaved.

We unfortunately never got to go on the tour because we couldn't find the tour guide. We went to where it said to meet and we didn't see anyone holding a lantern there was hardly anyone on the streets. We tried to contact the tour operator multiple times and nobody answered. After I was sent a email asking for a review I told them we didn't even find the tour guide. I asked for a refund and it was rejected even though we didn't get a tour. Then they asked for another review so here is my first bad review I have ever made and I have used Viator more around 30 times😞

The guide showed up at 7:58 when it states to be at the meeting point no later than 7:45. The guide was definitely phoning it in. We have done other ghost tours in other cities and this was by far the worst

Our guide, Phil, was nice but he clearly didn’t rehearse any of the material so he forgot a lot of it. Even admitted so himself at one point. It didn’t particularly seem like he cared that much that he didn’t remember either. Definitely not worth $33/pp.

The night before a big snow storm rolled in and I was the only one on the tour. Phil, the tour guide, did not let that influence his delivery or information he shared. He was friendly and full of knowledge. Would definitely recommend this tour.
