The operator answered the phone right away and guided me to their office. They were ready to go and escorted us through the confusing lines and guided us until we had tickets in hand and were headed up the escalator to the museum. They did a great job!

Missed out on a lifetime dream and paid to see very little

First we were unable to download our tickets. Then we tried to find the office which was poorly marked. We would have expected to see the green Viator logo on the door. We had to ask the waiters at the restaurant across the street where it was and even they couldn’t find it. Next, it would’ve been helpful to have a copy of a map as well as directions as to how to get to the Sistine Chapel, which we paid $60 each for but when we asked one of the workers inside the museum, we were told we had to go out in order to get there. Once we left, we were not allowed to go in again so we never got to see the chapel. Needless to say, we were very disappointed, and exhausted by the time we did get inside the museum.

Hello, Sorry to hear you encountered all sort of things that were beyond our control (you not finding the office, expecting a logo that does not belong to us, literally the museum is one straight big corridor to the sistine chapel never heard of anyone getting lost inside the Vatican not finding their way to the Chapel). Nonetheless, you cannot rate us 3 stars because of your lack of misunderstanding instructions and clear information.

I would skip the Vatican altogether if going in the summer. It is so crowded that you are literally herded through and can't see anything.

Show up about 10-15 minutes ahead of your time. They will get your tickets and walk you to the correct line. The line may look long but it is quick.

We arrived and Adeel was great, easy to talk to and gave us all the info we needed to provide a smooth and fast entry. We literally walked pass every line and straight to the front entrance! We were in within 10 minutes! I would highly recommend to anyone!

Check email frequently day before/day of entry. Our time slot was changed and then we waited 15 more minutes after the new time slot for a wait time of 45 minutes. It would be nice if the ticket provider used WhatsApp since those notifications are easily noticed for busy tourists.

This wasn't a guided tour, simply the ability to skip the line to entry into the Vatican museums and Sistine Chapel. However, our "guide" walked us through security and made sure that we were on our way!

Well, you should know that your ticket might be arbitrarily canceled and moved to a different time. Our ticket was for noon, and we finally got into the Vatican museum at 5.30. We didn't discover this until we arrived at the office. Viator said that this was the Vatican's doing--which it probably was, and Viator did make it up to us by giving us a timed entry to St Peter's Basilica, which we otherwise probably would not have seen. When we did get into the Vatican museum, it was worth the wait. Still: if we had been flying out that evening, we would have been VERY upset. You should know this: you might arrive at the office to pick up the "confirmed" ticket only to find out that the time has been changed for some hours later.

It was a great self guided tour. And whatever I say here it will not do it justice, you just have to see it. It does take aa while so spare about 2 1/2 hours, longer if you like to read everything.

We paid for the skip the line tickets and a guy marched quickly down the street and up the stairs without looking back. There were about 25 people trying to keep up. He told us before we started out to go to line 3, which was about as long as the other lines so we definitely didn’t skip anything. When we got there he had disappeared! He wasn’t even very friendly. Don’t waste money on this “tour”

Please note that the activity purchased was an entry ticket, not a guided tour. Some details mentioned in this review do not reflect the service provided, as there was never a group of 25 people being escorted to the Vatican. Our front office agent assisted by showing the meeting point and the correct entrance line as a courtesy, although this was not included in the purchased activity. We regret that this extra assistance was interpreted negatively.

Well worth the money

Just as expected. Skipped the line. Entered the Vatican Museum within a few minutes. Sistine Chapel is within the Vatican Museum. There are some audio guides you can purchase inside the museum. Well worth the $.

Waste of money, we were abandon by the tour guide before we ever started the tour. We could not keep up.

Use maps to find the ticket location, do not follow security advice. Easy to find once following maps. Tour guide Adel was absolutely amazing and could not recommend enough, he was very efficient and professional and very good at getting through the crowd.

Originally bought the 9am time slot. Got a text saying it’s now at 11am. Kind of inconvenient for us as a family with young kids. I’m assuming they didn’t get the tickets in time for the 9 am slot. Not sure what “skip the line” was as the title said. Didn’t skip any lines and still waited. The people were kind but a little misleading for sure.

Very good experience! I was a bit hesitant about these things at first, because they moved our booked time due to easter celebrations. But didn’t have any plans so it didn’t affect us. When we got to the meeting point, they got us tickets and said we don’t have to wait in the line. We went to the museum at the time the ticket said and in fact did not have to wait! Everything worked very well and i was happy to pay a bit extra because normal tickets sold out so fast and i saw the kilometers long line. So this skip the line ticket was the best! One thing to note is that they can move your booking like they did to us. We were supposed to go on monday and they moved it to tuesday (because of easter). And then on tuesday they called and asked if we can go two ours earlier than first agreed. We were just lucky because we were at the area anyways. But if your days are fully packed, be prepared to discuss about the schedule with them if they move it.

Vatican City can be intimidating with the lines and even the crowds inside. However, the process for getting our tickets and following instructions. We didn't wait AT ALL to enter and the amount of history and presentations was overwhelming.

The service was extremely disappointing and does not justify the price charged. There was a delay of nearly one hour from the scheduled time, and despite that, we still had to wait in line with no benefit or priority whatsoever. Charging more than double the ticket price to deliver the exact same — or even worse — experience is unjustifiable. To make matters worse, the service at the tourism office was terrible: the receptionist was rude, impatient, and clearly unprepared, providing no useful information. Overall, a frustrating experience that I would not recommend.

Frustration and Despair at the Colliseum

it was hard to find the tour leader and the tour started late. We almost gave up. We were handed off twice until we had the real guide. He was focused almost exclusively on the persecution of Christians in the Colleseum with gruesome detail. Ugh
