Waited 40 minutes past the time, missed 2nd half of tour

Waited 40 minutes past the entrance time to get escorted to the gate - it made me miss the 2nd part of the tour. Not worth the money, just buy an advance ticket.

Poor service recovery!

Viator and the tour company could not rectify an issue where I purchased three 5pm skip the line tickets to the Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel despite arriving at 4:20 pm. My ticket had been amended. Though I was provided the voucher for the time and date I wanted, the tour company did not get the memo. The tour company refused to allow us to use the 5pm time slot even after I, the customer put the tour company in direct communication with Viator. Another day or later time slot was not an option due to being on a cruise and having the need to return to the port by 9pm. Viator promised to refund me over the phone (i missed a priceless experience) but is now claiming since the tour company offered me a later time (that did not work for me) they are fighting reimbursement. Had i been offered the time i selected or earlier (which slots were available for) all would have been well.. it is unfortunately that viator are willing to sacrifice future business with not only myself but countless others I am connected to (veterans, licensed medical professionals, those I'm connected with on travel platforms) for $251 as I cannot in good faith recommend them. There has been a poor service recovery effort on their part that will cost them much more in the long run. I will be sharing my experience once I return stateside as I work through my bank to be refunded. The least this company could do based on my embarrassing, heartbreaking, missed opportunity was refund my money!! My tears are worth more than the cost of this tour. Viator is a one and done!

Overpriced for the service they provide

They told us to be there at 3.15pm and then we had to wait until 4pm. Find a cheaper skip-the-line option. Try to get your ticket directly from the Vatican.

Expensive for a trip through the Vatican and Sistine chapel. Took advantage of my desire to see the Sistine chapel

Wonderful experience to see the Sistine chapel, but way too expensive. Because the Cardinals were in Conclave when I tour the museum a week before I didn't get to see the Sistine chapel (but we didn't get any money back or another opportunity to see it when it opened. The only way to see the Sistine chapel when I circled back to Rome at the end of my trip, was to buy an expensive ticket to get in and have to go all the way through the museums again

Timed entry is the way to go. Be proactive about figuring out where you should stand/wait for your entry time as there are numerous lines. We used one of many self-guided audio options available, and it suited our needs, we were more than satisfied.

wonderful place to visit with a great guide

There is so much to see, its hard to pick one thing, obviously the chapel itself is amazing, you definitely need comfortable shoes and you will be in a crowd at all times but its worth it. i went round with a guide Yvonne and she was so knowledgeable, even when we were asked to go a different was to the way she normally goes round, because of the sheer number of people she still gave us great information. Would love to go back again to really appreciate what i have seen.

good tour for price

it was nice to just go to the tour place. retrieve my tickets and line up at the time i needed to. no waiting in a line. we quickly tried to see what we could see to say we were there. that kind of stuff not my forte. i would have hated to be on a tour listening to people talk about something im not too interested in. we were able to go at our pace. it was a nice day. warmer out. not humid. but inside it was hot so i could not imagine being there. walking thru that on a hotter day.

Amazing experience! Very hot (it was august) Getting tickets could have been a little closer. We got in a line then realised it wasn’t the line to get the ticket validated, got in another line to realise that wasn’t the correct line. Old fly of people around to ask and people were very friendly.

Front of the line to see Vatican & Sistine chapel

Best decision we made last minute to see the Vatican & Sistine chapel. It was hot & lines were long. We got the tickets that day onsite & went straight to the entrance. You have to pick up the tickets right outside the entrance but then go to the front of a very long line! Worth it if you don’t want to do a 4 hour tour. You can freely walk around at your own pace & enjoy the sites. Some of the areas were hot inside but there’s fans along the way.

I didn't have a good time. After emailing you as soon as I made my payment to say I had the wrong date. You refused to change the tour or refund. I was advised initially that I could then use the tickets for someone else, oh no... I couldn't, so it cost me another £50 to get my partner to come in with me after booking the trip back to Rome just to use the vouchers that I spent £170+ on. I will not use you again :(
