Bought this excursion long before travelling and were really looking forward to it. We’re told we would get tickets on the day of visit. Having travelled to the Vatican on the day, received an email from the booking agent telling us they were cancelling the experience without any real reason, but we could exchange for tickets 2 days later. Unfortunately we were travelling home at that time. We did ask in the tourist office if they had any skip the line tickets available, but were told no. We would have to go and join the queue, estimated queue time 3-4hours. That’s why we bought the experience in the 1st place, to miss the queuing. Have now missed this opportunity and probably won’t get the chance to do it again. Very disappointed.

It’s definitely a must-visit when you’re in the Vatican. We didn’t book our tickets through the museum website since we weren’t sure about our schedule, but we managed to get them from Rome Vatican City just two days before. The process was very easy, and the information provided was clear. We chose not to join a tour because we preferred to explore and enjoy the visit on our own.

Unfortunately, we paid for this experience however never received our tickets. On the details of the voucher it stated that the entry ticket would be sent via WhatsApp or email on the day of our booking but this did not occur. We contacted the tour operator via Viator message and received no response and then when we contacted Viator support they advised that the tour operator confirmed they would sent the tickets shortly. This was a half hour before our booking start time. We never received the tickets and had to buy new tickets directly at the ticket box at the Vatican Museum. Unfortunately I do not recommend this experience, sorry!

In our experience, our ticket got automatically refunded (NOT REQUESTED BY ME) just 10 minutes before our planned timed booking at the Vatican it threw all our plans out the window leaving us very stressed since it was a Saturday (Vatican is closed Sunday) and our last day in Rome.

This was a self-guided tour to visit both the Vatican museum and Sistine Chapel. Having been recently used for the conclave, we were all excited to set foot in this holy place, buit was closed for the very afternoon we were there…….bummer!!
We spent all our time enjoying the museum and the numerous masterpieces by renown artists. This is our second visit five years since and to my surprise, I discovered plenty more works of the Masters like a Pieta by Van Gogh, the only one found nowhere else! This turned out to be a really special visit! We lost out on the Sistine Chapel but still worth just with the Vatican Museum!

Terrible experience. Booked a month in advance. Trusted Viator would vet the provided and never received tickets. Reaching out to agency and Viator several times and never received help. Finally while waiting in line for Sistine Chapel received an alert that have refunded money. Not a great resolution after waiting in line. I leave for Rome on Tuesday and won’t be able to see the Sistine Chapel.

Lots of walking. Lots of people. A LOT of people and traffic. The art was fantastic. Unbelievable.
Only thing I would not do again is hire a ride from the airport. I scheduled a ride for 11 am. Driver was there at EIGHT am. Waited an hour and left us there. Viator would not refund the money, even though I had proof of my SCHEDULED pickup time and the text message of the driver, with a time stamp. Take a cab. It's cheaper and more reliable.

The day before our entry into the Vatican museum was to commence, the vendor sent an email indicating they would send our entry tickets via email approximately 30 minutes prior to our entry time which was 1pm. We took the metro to the Vatican and were waiting to here from the vendor. Never heard from them so I called four times. No one answered. They called me back and said they were having technical problems but would send our tickets within ten minutes. Of course they never did. I called again and no one answered. Instead, I received an email 15 minutes prior to our scheduled entry into the Vatican Museum saying sorry but they would not provide our entry tickets and would submit a full refund. We decided to stand in line for an hour to pay for entry into the Museum and Sistene Chapel on our own. We saved $100 dollars but made our way into the museum. There are plenty of companies offering tickets into the Museum and Sistene Chapel so I would consider booking with someone else.

Skip the line tickets allowed us fairly quick entry into the Vatican Museum. We went at our own pace. We didn’t get the tickets until the evening before but that was okay.

If you want to see these sites at your own pace, this is the way to do it. I estimate that skip the line saved is around 4 hours in queue. Tickets were delivered on time electronically. Any queries were dealt with promptly.

We got a message the day of our tour that it was canceled. This tour operator presells you tickets that they do not actually possess and then the day of they go and try to buy them from the museum but on our date they were already sold out so we missed seeing the Sistine chapel in Rome as no other tickets were available and the chapel was closed the next day which was our last day. Total scammers

Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel. We had purchased skip the line tickets for 3:30 entry. We went to the meeting point to pick up our tickets. No one was there. We walked around and asked every tour guide from other companies, and no one knew what we should do. I tried to call by phone and chat, but no one responded.
We ended up buying tickets from another company. I want my money refunded. It’s really a shame.

The Rome Vatican City tour group needed me to reschedule to an earlier time which was fine for me. Once we confirmed it over WhatsApp they said they will send the tickets the next morning. Next morning came around and while waiting in the rain with my two toddlers they ignored me and never sent the tickets. I waited in the rain on my own while my wife took them inside to get them out of the rain. In the end the tour group still hasn’t gotten back to me

The museum and chapel weee great. The handling of my booking and the experience of the day were ruined by Viator and the local provider. I paid a lot of money for my tickets for a 3pm entry and skip the line, only for Viator to somehow screw up my booking, not send me my tickets, having to send someone 2 hours later than my scheduled booking to give me tickets to enter the museum and bear in mind I had 3 young children and an elderly disabled person in the party. Will never use Viator again.

5 stars for the tour. No it wasn’t guided it was just entry into the Vatican. The app gave beautiful directions and sent the final ticket that gets scanned at the door the day before. You can approach an attendant and they will group you in your time slot. When the time comes boom your in. Reviews shouldn’t blast the crowds since it’s not on them how many people are there. Good time folks.

When I booked to go to Rome, Vatican Museum and the Sistene Chapel were top of my list of things to see.
I purchased a skip the line ticket from Viator and the whole process was smooth.
There was still a queue but it was more of a 20 minute wait rather than three hours.
I'm so glad I visited Rome there is so much to see and it was one of the best experiences I've had.
