Itinerary
Your day trip to Venice begins with an early morning meet-up just outside Rome’s Termini train station to avoid the crowds and make the most of your day. Follow your tour leader through the chaos directly to your platform to board in time for departure via direct high-speed train.
After a four-hour ride north, step outside Venice’s Santa Lucia station and directly onto a “vaporetto” water bus with your included ticket for hassle-free arrival. Enjoy a few hours of free time to take in highlights like St. Mark’s Square, the Grand Canal, the Rialto Bridge, and more at your own pace.
Round off your day in Venice by meeting up again with your tour leader Cannaregio, one of the city’s most picturesque neighborhoods, to sample traditional “cicchetti” snacks and relax. Then head back to the train station to board the return train to Rome together.

The trip from Rome on a beautiful high speed train took 3 1/2 hrs each way but we still had 7 hrs to enjoy beautiful Venice! Our guide, Anto, was superb and kept us on track while providing a wealth of information! We were able to learn about Venice and could stay with her while walking to St Mark’s Square or go off on our own once we covered the necessary final meeting place and reviewed the timeline so we’d all be on time.
It was our only chance to see Venice and was well worth the train ride and long day! We highly recommend this tour if you are in Rome and want to see as much of Italy as you can. Thank you Viator for providing this tour!!

I found this tour very expensive for what we got. The tour itself was 30 minutes long and we basically walked around Venice all day. It’s a good thing I know a bit about Venetian history. It would of been much cheaper to buy a ticket at the Roman Termini and do it that way!

I'm giving it a 5 star because the tour guide was nice and helpful. And Venice overall is beautiful and such a magnificent city, with a beautiful Church square.
However, we went in July. It was extremely hot and too crowded.
also, make sure to do the gondola ride. I thought that's what the ticket was for, but I was mistaken. It was for the boat that takes the people back to the Train Station.

Do not book this tour. Complete waste of money as you can book your own train tickets. The guide gets you on train both times. That is all. Gulia walked us to the "meeting spot" for apertivo after our day and said meet me back here at 5pm. That's all, apparently she cannot take us around to tour. We toured by ourselves and got our own go gondola ride. The apertivo was horrible sitting out all day in the Italy heatwave. You can save money and buy your own train tickets as this tour is not worth the money spent.

A care free day trip, small group of 7, our tour guide made it completely worry free, from meet up to getting taxis home. Perfect amount of time in Venice for a day trip. A lot of steps but we are 70 and 72 and handled the walk well. Had almost 6+ hrs in Venice, did a nice guided 40 min walk to St. Marks Square and then had from 12:30 to 5pm to eat take a gondola ride, shop and cruise on the water taxi until happy hour at 5. Perfect. Totally recommend.

Great experience! Our tour guide was so sweet and knowledgeable! It was a very hot day and she made sure to keep us in shade as much as possible. She had great recommendations and was easy to talk to. Happy hour was fun as well!

It was a long, but fun day. Worth going to see. Make sure you do your research before going because there is no guided tour in Venice. You are just lead to the main square and left on your own for the rest of the day. You are given a ticket for the water bus, but we didn’t have time to use it.

Definitely do if you’ve never been to Venice! Was definitely worth the travel time. The St Mark’s Cathedral and museum were spectacular! Graziella was very organized, enthusiastic and helpful! Great experience all around! Thanks from North Carolina, USA!

It is a long day but very slow paced. It is a beautiful ride on the train through the country and once you're in Venice, there is a lot of free time for shopping, eating, gondola rides, etc. The tour guides are available to assist when needed and very informative of what you will see and do while in Venice.

The "high-speed" train was a joke. Our 4 hour trip took 5 hours there and 5 hours back. Our train car was so hot!
Glad we got to see Venice, but suggest finding a different tour that can get you there faster.

However, we would like to clarify that the travel time between Rome and Venice by high-speed train is approximately 4 to 5 hours, which is currently the fastest rail connection available. Given the distance between the two cities, alternative train services would actually take considerably longer.

Grace was wonderful. That was the only good thing about the day. The rest of the day was a Hugh let down to something that my husband and I were looking forward to. Long train ride, extremely dirty area, people aren’t nice, actually very rude to Americans. The happy hour was a waste. Drinks that were allowed and the appetizers were inedible. Should not add this a a part of the excursion. Was a big let down and waste of money. Would definitely not recommend this excursion!!!!

Same tour group at the Colosseum which we loved. We were understanding with the confusing on the Colosseum tickets. A day later the shoe was on the other foot. Unfortunately daughter was sick and they were not as kind and understanding wouldn’t refund.

Pay attention to instructions. If you can find a way to fit this into your trip while in Rome do so! The Gondola ride has to be part of your experience. The scenic view on the train of the countryside was beautiful. Our tour guide Anto was a blessing in so many ways. Venice was so incredible.

Venice is a beautiful city to visit! On this tour, we had plenty of time to explore and see everything that we wanted to see. However, the tour was lacking because the headsets that we used to hear our tour guide were crackling and buzzing so much that we couldn’t hear most of what she said.
Another reason for the tour being disappointing was the fact that we were traveling as a group of four and on the return train ride to Rome, they did not put the four of us together. One of us had to sit away from the group. We were not able to play cards on the way back since our seats were screwed up. And this happened even though we had purchased these tickets months in advance.
So, in short, Venice was amazing but the tour itself not so great.

Our tour guide, Anto was very knowledgeable and ensured we had a guided tour with her if we chose or time to explore on our own. She supplied a lot of information on Venice. The trip on the train was easy to navigate and we had plenty of time to see everything while in Venice.

I was hesitant booking because I didn't know if this trip would allow for enough time in Venice. It most certainly does! Would do it all over again and our guide Graziella in particular was wonderful! Some of our group got lost and she was very patient and ensured everyone had a good time and was accounted for.

It was an unforgetable and one of the best tours I've experienced. Our tour guide, Antonella, was well-organized, took the reins in everything, and kept us informed all throughout the trip. She assured everyone in the group that there is nothing to worry, that she'll be able to accomodate everything we need, and she did. Although there was a slight hiccup in the train, Antonella still assured us that we'll get the experience that we were expecting. During the time we went, there was a carnival goinng on and it just made the experience on a whole another level. I highly recommend this tour and if possible to request for Antonella as your guide. Well-worth the price for the experience.

I had an amazing day trip to Venice guided by Yohana. She gave me lots of information prior to beginning the trip so i knew exactly what the plan was for the day. She allowed me to identify where i specifically wanted to go in Venice and organised for us to head to Muarno island. She was very knowledgeable and was enthusiastic. We had a lovely walk through the streets of Venice leading to St Marks square. I had time on my own to explore Venice by myself to visit shops and get a lovely lunch. Yohana was very flexible and was available when i wanted to meet again, A lovely trip with a brilliant guide (and also personal photographer :))

This is an amazing tour. If you dont have much tine, but wanted to visit Venice for a day, this is perfect t. Grazielle was amazing, gave us a lot of info, recommendations, showed us around. Long way on the train, but so much worth it. You have about 7 hours in Venice. Time for Gondola, shopping around, food tasting. It was amazing.
