Itinerary
Your day trip to Venice begins with an early morning meet-up just outside Rome’s Termini train station to avoid the crowds and make the most of your day. Follow your tour leader through the chaos directly to your platform to board in time for departure via direct high-speed train.
After a four-hour ride north, step outside Venice’s Santa Lucia station and directly onto a “vaporetto” water bus with your included ticket for hassle-free arrival. Enjoy a few hours of free time to take in highlights like St. Mark’s Square, the Grand Canal, the Rialto Bridge, and more at your own pace.
Round off your day in Venice by meeting up again with your tour leader Cannaregio, one of the city’s most picturesque neighborhoods, to sample traditional “cicchetti” snacks and relax. Then head back to the train station to board the return train to Rome together.

The trip from Rome on a beautiful high speed train took 3 1/2 hrs each way but we still had 7 hrs to enjoy beautiful Venice! Our guide, Anto, was superb and kept us on track while providing a wealth of information! We were able to learn about Venice and could stay with her while walking to St Mark’s Square or go off on our own once we covered the necessary final meeting place and reviewed the timeline so we’d all be on time.
It was our only chance to see Venice and was well worth the train ride and long day! We highly recommend this tour if you are in Rome and want to see as much of Italy as you can. Thank you Viator for providing this tour!!

I was hesitant booking because I didn't know if this trip would allow for enough time in Venice. It most certainly does! Would do it all over again and our guide Graziella in particular was wonderful! Some of our group got lost and she was very patient and ensured everyone had a good time and was accounted for.

It was an unforgetable and one of the best tours I've experienced. Our tour guide, Antonella, was well-organized, took the reins in everything, and kept us informed all throughout the trip. She assured everyone in the group that there is nothing to worry, that she'll be able to accomodate everything we need, and she did. Although there was a slight hiccup in the train, Antonella still assured us that we'll get the experience that we were expecting. During the time we went, there was a carnival goinng on and it just made the experience on a whole another level. I highly recommend this tour and if possible to request for Antonella as your guide. Well-worth the price for the experience.

I had an amazing day trip to Venice guided by Yohana. She gave me lots of information prior to beginning the trip so i knew exactly what the plan was for the day. She allowed me to identify where i specifically wanted to go in Venice and organised for us to head to Muarno island. She was very knowledgeable and was enthusiastic. We had a lovely walk through the streets of Venice leading to St Marks square. I had time on my own to explore Venice by myself to visit shops and get a lovely lunch. Yohana was very flexible and was available when i wanted to meet again, A lovely trip with a brilliant guide (and also personal photographer :))

This is an amazing tour. If you dont have much tine, but wanted to visit Venice for a day, this is perfect t. Grazielle was amazing, gave us a lot of info, recommendations, showed us around. Long way on the train, but so much worth it. You have about 7 hours in Venice. Time for Gondola, shopping around, food tasting. It was amazing.

The day trip was great. Alessandro was patient and accommodating. During the walking tour he gave us information about the area and gave us time to take a break and appreciate the sites. The day trip was a good because after the walking tour we had more time to do the activities we wanted without being rushed.

Anto was fantastic! She constantly went the extra mile to make our trip exceptional to Venice for the day from Rome. She showed us special hidden areas in Venice. She made sure we knew where the bank machine for cash was for the gondola. She personally took us to a gluten free restaurant we had pre booked.. She was easy to connect with when we were on our own-using WhatsApp. She sent us a video of exactly how to walk from st marks square to get the water boat back to the meeting point. Anything we needed she made it happen. She is very knowledgeable and easy to understand (she spoke English for us). The aperitif stop at the end turned out to be a pleasant surprise and the food was the best we have had in Italy- very fresh and tasty. Such a great atmosphere to experience before getting back on the train to Rome. We highly recommend taking this tour with Anto! Great value. Thanks for one of our best days in Italy!!!!

Long train trip but very comfortable accommodation. Excellent tour guide Yohana who really made the trip. Very helpful and informative. Helped us and another traveler with some train issues. Great way to see Venice if you have only a day

Long day but so well planned it was very smooth and we enjoyed it very much. I was worried about catching trains but the guide stayed with us every step of the way! Graciela was able to speak many languages and made sure we were all taken care of and answered all questions. She was very patient and kind!

Graziella was an excellent guide. She was informative and very kind. As for the tour, it's definitely a long day so prepare for most of the time on the train. A lot of walking so not ideal for those with impaired mobility. Overall a great experience for a day tour from Rome.

Graziella was a fantastic tour guide through Venice. She showed us the shops where we could find the best quality for items we were looking for and which gondolas to hire for a scenic ride in the canals. The tour ended with a happy hour with food and drink. The. train ride was great too! Grazie Graziella!

It was quite an experience for me. Anatolia, the guide is very experienced, friendly and knowledgeable of the island. She goes into details to explain the history of the island. I would advise anyone traveling to Venice to go with tram Anatolia. She is the best.

This is a easy and convenient way to travel to Venice for the day. However, when we arrived in Venice, it was hard to keep up with our tour guide. She was pleasent and helpful, but she was hard to understand and the headset made it even harder. Many of the tour guests fell behind and got away from the group. I wish we were all given a map once we arrived.

It is a very long day, but worth it. More time in Venice really is required to experience it all, but if you are in Rome for a short stay, this is a good way to tick the Venice box.
