Fun spooky walking tour

We had a fun tour with Emily. She took us to some interesting spots in central Rome with some spooky stories. She was enthusiastic and was happy to answer any questions we had. We visited some spots that we wouldn't have found otherwise. She gave us some tips on restaurants and gelato spots to visit later. It was a great walking tour to do on our first night in Rome. Absolutely loved this little tour, Our tour guide was Sevada, she was a wealth of knowledge that you don’t hear about. You don’t walk far and you see bits that you just miss on your own. Sevada even got us in to a restaurant to see an absolute gem, that you would otherwise 100% miss on your own. I really wish this went on for longer.

Emily was amazing! We had a great time and enjoyed learning some history of Rome that was not your everyday history. It was so interesting to learn about places that you would never know had a dark past. Highly recommend. Emily is very sweet and kind.

This was a great tour. It was refreshing that it wasn’t for hours and it covered a small area by foot (as we were shattered from walking all day) however it was fantastic! The stories that were told, the ones you don’t hear about! The secret spots that books don’t mention. Emilie was our guide, she was great and very knowledgeable. If you want something a bit different that gives you a glimpse of how life was this is the thing to do! It’s also a great evening activity that breaks up the night! Definitely recommend.

This tour gives you the intriguing and obscure stories of Rome’s history. Learn about the lesser known events and people from deep in Rome’s past …so so interesting and enlightening. Emily was awesome! Highly recommended! Would do it again! Lots of info in 90 minutes…:)

If you’re a die-hard fan of classic horror movies—the real spooky stuff with dramatic church shadows, foggy alleys, and ghosts who don’t need CGI—this Rome After Dark tour is basically a live-action double feature! From the moment we stepped into those narrow, dimly lit Roman streets, I swear we walked straight onto the set of The Exorcist, Nosferatu, and House on Haunted Hill all at the same time. Every corner felt like a scene where someone should be clutching rosary beads and whispering, “Did you hear that?” Our guide was giving us history, but in that “I’ve definitely seen some things” tone. You know in old horror movies when the townspeople pull you aside like, “Don’t go up to the castle after midnight…”? Yep—exactly that energy. I was waiting on an organ to start playing from nowhere. The alleys were so dark and dramatic that even the streetlights were flickering like they were trying to warn us. At one point the wind blew and my soul left my body for 3 seconds—came right back, but still. We learned about ancient ghosts, cursed roads, mysterious disappearances, and Roman legends that would have Vincent Price nodding in approval. And honestly? The architecture alone looks haunted in HD. Rome at night is beautiful, but also looks like every ghost has a union contract and works night shift only. 10/10—perfect for horror lovers, ghost chasers, and anybody who appreciates a little “Did we just summon something?” energy on vacation. Just don’t watch an old black-and-white horror flick before going, or you’ll be jumping at every shadow like we did. 👻✨

An Roman alternative must-do!

Couldn't be happier with this tour - was exactly what we were hoping for - some of the darker side of actual history, some superstitious scary bits, mixed in with the actual geography of Rome. Mike was an awesome guide - we're Australian, so his casual approach made the entire time that much better and easier to listen to his storytelling. It was almost conversational, making it feel like a mate was showing you around with some cool stories, versus being talked at with facts/history. We'll definitely be booking one of Mike's other tours next time we visit!
