Disappointing tour of Vatican City evening tour.

It is advertised as a 2 1/2 hour tour, with a meet up time of 5.30 pm. However, by the time you meet at the advertised meeting point and then walk to what was described as “ meet the tour guide” to then wait on a street corner for further 10 minutes, to then be handed off to someone else who tells you he us taking you to meet the tour guide, then get told to sit, this time inside the Vatican Museum, for to find the “tour guide”. Then to meet the Tour Guide while he goes off to buy the entrance tickets it was about 6.20 pm, ok success we are now united with our actual tour guide having wanted about 40 minutes we are told by the guide we have move quickly as the Vatican closed at 7.30 pm. You can imagine our surprise that infact the tour is for now 1 hour and 20 minutes. So let’s get moving - very quickly in stifling heat and humidity. While the guide did reasonably well to explain as much as possible we spent about an hour racing through the museum. When we arrived at the entrance to the Cistern Chapel we were advised to hurry and enjoy the Chapel as it closed in 20 minutes - and with that she was gone. No instruction on how long or how to exiit. We paid for a 2 1/2 to 3 hour tour and received approx 1 hour 20 minute tour. Totally misleading information supplied on the Viator site. I have used Viator to book many tours and experiences over the years this is the first one I felt totally disappointed and ripped off.

The guide had a heavy accent. He did not attach the mic to his shirt so the sound was not consistent. This was a horrible tour

Hello Jackie, our guide before starting tour check the microphone as everybody listen clearly. If any problem on microphone you could change before starting the tour. Also, we will check with our guide about your issues. Thanks for your feedback.
