Tour location was ralatively easy to find using maps. Set up team was very relaxed and accommodating. Tour guide, Barbara. was very knowledgable and thorough. Easy to understand (although headphones made it hard sometimes). We ran a little long however we could’ve spent even more time.

Our tour began promptly and professionally exactly where we were instructed to meet. Our guide Te Te is an actual professor of art history and has a passion for the Coliseum. She was engaging our teenagers and made our experience just perfect. We would highly recommend this tour.

Charged extra 50 Euros for our tour

Despite being @ the Colosseum well in advance of our meeting time we missed our 11am tour because we could not find the meeting point as we were not provided adequate instructions of where that location was. When we did finally arrive we were charged an additional 50 euros to take this tour. It is ridiculous that we have been rejected in our request to have this extra 50 euro charge rebated due to viators poor communication with the instructions of where the meeting point was. Without this unnecessary surcharge being rebated to us then we will not book any future tours through viator moving forward. Totally disappointed with viators lack of understanding to straighten this out with us!

What a fantastic experience with Maria Laura our tour guide! My husband and I were traveling alone and wanted a quiet tour. We were so lucky when we only had another couple join us. Maria Laura was so knowledgeable- she had her books and support materials to give us greater context. I appreciated her vast knowledge and her beautiful demeanor- what an incredible experience for my husband and I! Please be ready to walk!! In just the morning alone we did over 8,000 steps! It was a fantastic day!

Up close to parts of the Colosseum. Guide was knowledgeable but the tour was dependent on movement of the crowds and where space was possible. Sit downs in shady spots also at times. Lots of stairs but plenty rest time too.

Good Tour Guide - Incorrect Meet-Up Instructions

Tour guide was great, but we had problems meeting the tour group. The meeting instructions provided in the Viator mobile app were apparently outdated and we had much trouble finding our tour. Be sure to allow time to find the appropriate tour group.

She has a true passion for the history of Rome, and I learned so much in this tour. This sights were amazing, but the knowledge I also gained is what I will always remember. poor tour operator...Colosseum and forum are a must to see though!

so...the underground tour is actually ran by the Colosseum staff (only way to do it) not the tour operator and you can get the same official tour on the Colosseum official web site for €21. And too be honest the amount you see underground is not worth it! you see more standing and looking from above. Once advantage though is standing on the left side of the Colosseum floor which is less busy. Luckily the tour was on special offer reduced from £89 to £69. But it still meant we paid £50 each for the tour operator walking us to the entrance, leaving us to the Colosseum staff and then when finished in the Colosseum giving us a 45 min tour up to palatine hill and an brief explanation of what the main attractions were in the Roman Forum, without actually taking us down into the forum and guiding us. All that Said Elaine from Canada did know her stuff, even if it was only for a brief 45 mins. Other tours we saw looked much better and guided the group through the Colosseum and the forum throughout. I would not recommend city walkers. But the Colosseum itself is awesome!
