My wife and I did a food tour with Alfredo at Eden Walks. We booked it as we had a free afternoon after seeing Rome's main attractions the previous days. What we thought would be just a time filler turned out to be one of our highlights of Rome. Besides tasting ALOT of yummy local morsals we also had a lot of fun and especially as Alfredo is a qualified history guide we learned a lot of off beat history tidbits that tied in with what we had learned on the other tours. Highly recommended (and not just as a time filler - A MUST DO!)TIPPace yourself eating on the tour as the final stop is a real treat :)Thanks Alfie

Rome food and wine pairing experience

Richard_E, Sep 2024
Our guide and host Alfredo was masterful with the pairing of wine with charcuterie and pasta served by all of the local restaurants and shops we visited.

Was upgraded to private tour and was amazing. The food, the venues and how Alfredo adapted to our food choices was amazing. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone.

Great experience

The food and wine was fantastic. James was a informative guide. Gave us plenty of recommendations. And saw parts of Rome we hadn’t been to before.

Fun

This was fun. We wished our guide would have allowed opportunities for questions. The food and beverage was good! We had a tour “assistant” for most of our tour and she was really nice!

Wonderful food and great company

Alfredo was amazing! Our tour group was very small and intimate and it allowed us to have great conversations with him and learn about his Roman culture and the local food and history in a comfortable and enjoyable environment. I would definitely recommend this tour.

Food and Wine. What Could be Better?

A great evening out! My wife and I happened to be the only people in our time slot so it turned out to be a private tour. Well worth the cost.

Alfredo was the best tour...

Alfredo was the best tour guide, so knowledgeable about all the different areas we visited. The food and wine were amazing. Probably the best pasta we had while in Italy. Go hungry!!

Food tour in Rome

Alma showed us some lovely old family run businesses in Rome, we had a great time trying the best meats, cheese, pizza, pasta and gelato that Rome has to offer. She also gave us a lovely recommendation for our evening meal the following day. We had a fantastic night and would highly recommend this tour.

Experience a hidden gem of Rome

Our family loved the food and wine tour with Alfredo . You experience a local neighborhood and taste the homemade delicacies of the region.

So much food! Delicious wine. Fantastic Guide — Rota.

Gregory_E, Jul 2019
This was a fantastic tour and we left it STUFFED! Rota was a great guide and made the tour quite lovely. We had 5 or 6 stops, and had quite the variety of food. Wine was great too. I had to tap out at the end from not being able to eat another bite, so pace yourself. We learned more about the city that we didn’t see on the other traditional tours that we did, and Rota made it a fantastic experience. Would do again...and skip breakfast before. We highly recommend! Ask for Rota—I’m sure the other guides are great, but she really made it a special journey for us on our honeymoon.

Perfecto 👌🏾

Alfredo the tour guide was amazing! Wine was paired with each food tasting which was perfect. We had cheeses, different types of salami & ham, two different types of pasta, & gelato at the ending of the tour. Would definitely recommend! Take the tour with Alfredo! You won’t regret it.

Awesome Experience

This was one of the best tours we did in Rome. Had a great 4 hours tasting cheeses, meats, appetizers, pastas, and dessert, paired with wine along the way. We didn't feel stuffed at the end. Lauren was a fantastic guide, and helped us out with questions and information about Rome. Highly recommend taking this tour.

I highly recommend booking this tour. Lauren was so friendly and knowledgeable. The food we had on this tour was delicious and I don't think we would've had the same experience if we didn't have a local who knew where to go. It was the highlight of my trip.

Three hours of art, architecture and eating! I never did a food tour before so I didnt know what to expect. But our guide, Alma, was fabulous! She showed us two different neighborhoods in Rome Campo Marzio and Trastevere. We had so much food! Delicious pizza, pasta, and unlimited wine. And we finished the night with some gelato. Three hours of art, architecture and traditional Roman cuisine. Thank you for making my first experience here an amazing one. Make sure you come hungry and wear some comfortable shoes

The highlight of our trip to Rome...

Mariano_V, May 2018
The highlight of our trip to Rome. This wasnt our first time visiting, so we decided to do something a little different and take a food tour. Our guide, Alma, took us around the lovely neighborhoods of Campo de Fiori and then Trastevere, where we sampled a variety of Roman delicacies. The suppli Roman riceball was my favorite, hands down. But every stop on this 3 hour tour was amazing. Tastings included meats and cheeses, pizza, and a fried fish stick typical to Rome with wine pairings throughout the tour. It was so much more food than we expected, which was a pleasant surprise. But it was perfect because of the amount of walking in between each place. The end of the tour concluded with a full sit-down dinner which we werent prepared for appetite-wise, even though we devoured almost everything anyway. Our authentic Roman dinner began with an appetizer followed by some Roman pastas. And for dessert, we went to a place nearby for some gelato. Amazing food, good group and great guide. I would highly recommend it!

Food and Wine Walking Tour with...

Food and Wine Walking Tour with Claudio I highly recommend any tour Claudio is offering. He is such a big personality and wonderful energy. And you can really feel the love, passion and knowledge he has for his city. Being a native of Rome, he really knows everything about this city- especially when it comes to food. First we went to two of the oldest food shops in Rome, where we sampled some meat and cheeses with wine. Then we moved on to another place for some fish snack typical of Rome baccala frito followed by another fried snack suppli and then some pizza. By now we had walked our way over to another beautiful neighborhood called Trastevere, where Claudio took us to a local restaurant where there was MORE food. Some authentic Roman antipasti and pasta sampling for our main. And last but not least, some gelato at a popular spot nearby the restaurant for our dessert. Everything that we ate was delicious and I couldnt have imaged a better experience, than being taken around and learning about the beautiful history and food by a true Roman. Thank you again Claudio for an amazing last evening in Rome!

We went on this Roman food and wine...

ermal_n, May 2018
We went on this Roman food and wine tour and it was absolutely amazing. Alfredo our guide was equally so, keeping us informed and entertained with every tasting we had. His knowledge of the history of Rome and its food culture over the years was impressive, as were the samplings we had. We started at one of the oldest salami stores in the center where we tasted several different types from youngest to the oldest. The next stop was a local cheese shop, where we learned about the different types of Roman cheeses. Both tastings included a wine that complimented the food perfectly. There was a nice amount of walking in between the next stops, which we needed to build up our appetite. We went to a popular area called Trastevere for the rest of the tour. After sampling some more foods typical to Rome fried cod, suppli, and Roman pizza it was time for dinner at a local trattoria. The waiter brought out the antipasta and then a very generous portion of pasta afterwards. We were so full at the end that we almost couldnt finish our delicious gelato! One word of advice though- do not eat a big meal prior to this tour like we did. You will definitely get your moneys worth in food tastings
