Jason was a phenomenal tour guide, it is obvious he is very passionate about the artwork, symbolism, and history. Additionally he was entertaining to listen to. I was able to walk away with a much deeper appreciation for everything I saw. St. Peter's Basilica is truly breathtaking.

Peter was a perfect guide for St. Peter's and shared so much information about the history and symbolism of the basilica that really enriched our experience. Truly a phenomenal tour. One part of the tour was closed, so we only went into the basilica, but even still, I don't feel like anything was lacking and we had a truly marvelous experience.

Not worth it

Had to meet guide at one point to check in, only to walk another 15 mins to meet another guide, who introduced us to the tour guide. Rediculous amount of in needed walking g. The church is free. Just do it on your own. English speaking guide but bc accent could not understand her at all. In addition, initial guide we me changed time. They said they tried to contact us by phone, what’s app, email etc. That was a big fat lie - I handed her my phone and showed her all of my platforms - no messages. Rome guide were horrible with the exception of food tour

Perfect level of detail

It is hot and crowded but the walking is pretty easy. We had a great tour guide and we were thankful that after the tour, we were able to go through the Holy Doors, go to Reconciliation, and go to Mass at 5 PM right in the Basilica.

St Peter’s tour

A long and detailed history of the church and events happening around rome. A fair walk to the entrance and queue which was the same queue for everyone if they had a guide or not. This is not a skip the line tour. But the queue wasnt too bad the day i went. I have been to St Peter’s before so it was good to have someone point out certain things that i had previously missed. Guide was extremely knowledgeable.

It was not an exclusive underground experience, it was very crowded. The only benefit was skipping the queue.

Confusing. Do the tour yourself for free and save the tour cost

We entered incorrectly through the wrong side of Vatican security. We rang to say. They told us to wait which we did but failed to say there were 2 entrances and we wouldn’t be able to get to the other side. After about 10 calls we had a call to say they had finished the tour. I requested a refund. At no point did they tell us we could continue to see the basilica but just not on the tour so we left the Vatican without even entering. They also denied a refund despite the office expressing their apologies that we were given the wrong information.

Knowledgeable and friendly guide but no skip line access

Overall, I liked the experience, and I am glad we got Guided tour for the Basilica. Lydia was very knowledgeable and passionate, so we learned a lot. We were lucky that the line wasn't long so we enter Basilica quickly, however, if you hope that guided tour will get you faster that's the misconception. Unfortunately, we had to stay in the same line as free admission. I still recommend guide to learn but not for the skip line purpose.
