This was the perfect wine tour for a day trip outside of Rome. It was a very nice arrangement with wine tasting at their family-owned farm in the morning and then a guided tour around Frascati with the opportunity to try different dishes in a traditional bakery. At the end we was served a classic Italian lunch. Can not recommed this tour enough!
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Ciao Emma! Thank you so much for your kind words :) We hope to see you back in Frascati one day... Grazie!

The tour of the winery with Paola was great! So informative of the area, the family winery, and the tour of the creepy cave was really enjoyable. Where it fell down for us was the hand off to the lady for the tour of Frascati and the lunch. She was extremely “dismissive” and not very nice. It was too warm for the walking tour of the town, and why anyone needed the porchetta sandwich and crappy wine before lunch was questionable. We’d give the winery and vineyard portion a 5, but the second half a 2.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Thank you for your review and the great feedback on the winery portion of your day! While the midday heat can make walking a challenge, the town tour and traditional porchetta stop are carefully designed to give guests an authentic taste of Frascati’s historic culinary culture. Our guides are deeply dedicated to providing a welcoming experience, and we appreciate your valuable feedback.

If you like wine with lunch, try them out. They offer a great winery tour and excellent walking tour of the downtown Frascati area

This was a very pleasant way to spend the afternoon! Just a short train ride from Rome. Our guides were friendly and knowledgeable. We tasted some great wine and enjoyed a stroll through the town learning about its history. Finished with a wonderful lunch!

This was such a great experience. I would HIGHLY recommend this if you’re looking for a wine tour close to Rome. Our guide was outstanding!

We were surprised at the depth of the experience, including wine caves. The hosts/guides were very personable. Lunch in the small town was great.

Winery location is beautiful. Be prepared to stand for 2 hours while listening to the winery team member share all the information about the winery, making wine, and the history of the wine itself. Going down to the caves was very cool. The wine tasting itself was very short in comparison to the tour and the talking. It was beautiful. However, if you have any mobility issues, I would reach out to the tour to see what they can accommodate and what you’ll be able to participate in. And wear sunscreen as you’re outside 95% of the time. I didn’t enjoy the wine flavor as much as I thought I would.
The tour in town was with Daniella. She was so funny and shared so much information about the town. It was so cute! Lunch was delicious and filling. And the wine was flowing!
Getting there from the train station was easy and the tour messages you exactly how to get there from Rome. The winery is a 5 minute drive from the train station. Getting back to Rome was just as easy!

Great experience and tour. Learned about the wines in Italy and how the winery works. Great scenery and wines. Experts on the wine were very friendly and open for discussions. Very worthwhile tour and recommend it.

Excellent time exploring, drinking wine, and eating great food. The winery was beautiful and our tour guide super informative. It’s good to finally know how to grade wine thanks to her! The tour of Frascati was calm and the people were friendly. Definitely recommend to anyone wanting to get out of Rome for a day, especially since it’s only a 30 minute train ride.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this trip from start to finish. The pick-up from the train station was very prompt and organised. We were taken over to the winery which was a short trip from the station and met Paula who gave us a really interesting tour and lifelong skills on how to taste/rate a good wine - she was really fun and bubbly which made it all the more interesting. We were then transported over to the Frascati village where we met Dominique who again was a really pleasant lady who gave us a really interesting tour of the Frascati village itself and eventually ended the day with a delicious lunch (and more wine!) before we headed back to the train station.
If you are thinking of booking this tour… do it! You will not be disappointed 😁

The wine was delicious and the views were stunning! The town was a calm reprieve from busy Rome. The restaurant at the end of the tour was so good. And the pork sandwich we had on the way was the best I had on the whole trip.
Renae_L, Apr 2026
The winery is small and the owner Paula has a love for her farm and its history. But I felt too much time spent explaining the process of taking care of the vines. The lunch was great in the town of Frascati.

Paola is a generational winemaker in Frascati and is also a certified enologist who assesses wines for DOC/DOCG certification levels. She toured us around her family vineyard and held an incredibly educational, yet friendly and warm, wine tasting. Dominique toured us around the downtown of Frascati and took us to an amazing bakery and then a local family-owned restaurant where our tour group had so much great local food presented to us that we gently rolled out the door at the end. If you are offered the homemade Limoncello, pay the small upcharge fee (5 euro per glass in cash) without question - it is excellent. Paola and Dominique made the excursion very special and an amazing experience.

I'd say it was the best winery tour I've ever done. It was so informative. We were outside in the vineyard and also in the cave tunnels below the main building. We had a lovely tasting under the trees with snacks to accompany the wines. The property is beautiful.
The walk around town was great. Our tour guide was very lively. We stopped for aperitivo before our main lunch at a lovely restaurant. During lunch, our tables had a variety of meats and cheeses and we were served two different pastas for our main meal.
I think our group was just excellent. I traveled solo, so I was sat with a family from South Africa for the wine tasting under the trees and then with a family from the United States and a couple from Denmark for lunch.
All around, it was a great experience.

We arrived in Frascati by train from Rome in 20 min, met our friendly driver and were taken to a local winery who had been growing grapes and producing Frascati wines for generations. We learned the history of both the wine and this beautiful family who have succeeded to continue a tradition of superior wine makers. During every phase of this tour we could could feel the love of wine, love of family and love of Italy. Simply a superb tour if you want to learn about Frascati, enjoy some wine and olive oil and be present in a location that the elite Roman Soldiers relished for years and years. The owner and host, Paola, was informative about why they make Frascati here, told fun and interesting stories about her family and we explored the incredibly ancient wine caves (see pic).
To finish our tour we were introduced to the cute town of Frascati, which featured a healthy amount of fine jewelry stores and even more flavorful baked goods, markets and restaurants! Dominique, our vivacious and knowledgeable local guide escorted us to her fav local restaurant where the owner and staff could not be more inviting and generous!
So good we'll be back again!

Everything went perfectly and as advertised. Instructions for the train from Rome were easy to follow and pickup in Frascati was immediate and easy. The winery was wonderful and a great experience. The time in Frascati was so sweet and the food amazing. Great guides and we enjoyed the other folks with us on the tour.

Amazing Frascati Wine Tour
We had the best time on this tour. So funny and enjoyable. Great guides, beautiful locations, delicious food and artisanal wines. Frascati is an easy 25 minute train ride from Rome and such a nice reprise from the crowds in the city. We even bought a few bottles to bring home. Thank you!
Response from Host, Feb 2026
Ciao Anjuli! Thank you so much for your precious review and for spending the day with us in Frascati. We loved having you! Grazie!

This was a great addition to my trip to Rome. I wanted to get out of the city and see the countryside for a day trip, and this tour was the perfect fit. To start, the train ride was simple and only 25 minutes from my hotel
in Rome. The guides were so engaging and accommodating. If you like getting a sense of a local experience when you travel, this is the tour for you. We stopped at great vendors, tasted great wine, and ate great food. I will be back with my partner next time!!

The Perfect Excursion from Rome! We loved our half-day wine tour with Old Frascati Food & Wine Tours. They provided excellent instructions for reaching Frascati by train and our driver Marco picked us up at the station right on time. He brought us to the most beautiful family run winery for a tour of the winery with the winemaker and the tasting of their 3 wines with yummy snacks. After a few hours at the winery we were driven back to the center of Frascati to meet our local guide Dominique who showed us around the charming city center and to the old bakery to try ‘pizza and porchetta’ with house wine. After our tour around town we were brought to a little family run osteria for lunch with mixed starters, 2 homemade pastas and more house wine. Everyone was kind and helpful and spoke excellent English. The value for everything that was included is amazing and I cannot recommend this tour highly enough! Grazie!

What a fantastic way to spend a half day just outside Rome! The atmosphere was super relaxed and very genuine. At the winery we got to walk through the vineyards and explore a centuries-old wine cave with the winemaker Paola. The wine tasting was excellent, with generous pours and thoughtful explanations from Paola who is very passionate about her work. Our guide is town was Daniela and she was friendly and fun, showing us around Frascati and we tried some traditional local porchetta with some house wine. The osteria lunch is delicious and was paired with more local wine. This tour strikes a wonderful balance between wine, food, and Italian countryside charm.

Amazing experience for our honeymoon! Wonderful cave/wine experience at an authentic winery, followed by an insightful tour of the little town, and then a wonderful lunch at a local restaurant. Delicious wine throughout to adds to the experience!
Joseph_O, Nov 2025
That was the worst tour I have ever been on. From the start when we were picked up in dirty car until we walked out of the restaurant before our main meal was served the tour was a disaster.
I am too angry to further comment but what a complete waste of money and we lost a half day of our Italian holiday due to complete Incompetence.
Response from Host, Feb 2026
Hi Joseph,
We are sorry this was your experience but this is a you thing... therapy could help? Wine certainly did not...
Catherine_R, Nov 2025
Easy to get to meeting point after exiting the train. Guide at winery was pleasant and engaging. Nice break away from the city.

Paula and Giovanna were amazing guides! The tour was great and the wineyard was very beautiful! We learned a lot and the wines and food were great!
Frascati was picturesque and the view over Rome amazing. They also make it possible for people in weelchair.

Wonderful experience! The winery tour was one of the best I’ve ever done. I love the village of Frascati. Charming to say the least. Excellent lunch and amazing views of Rome. I highly recommend this excursion.
Bonita_F, Sep 2025
This tour was a lot of fun and we drank a lot of wine. The tour guide was very friendly and met us at the train station in Frascati as promised. The tour of the winery was very informative and the wine tasting (2 whites and 1 red) was yummy. The pork sandwiches at the bakery were delicious and the lunch with wine at the restaurant was fantastic. It was a great way to spend a day and see something outside of Rome.
Debbie_l, Sep 2025
It was not what I had anticipated—a small sandwich and house wine served in plastic cups, out in the middle of the street, while being bitten by insects at the winery. As we walked through the vines, people were falling and slipping, and tasting wine in a cave felt chaotic. I was four minutes late, and they didn’t even wait for me; they had to return and didn't have enough vehicles to accommodate the large group. The only positive aspect I can mention is that the tour guide, when we returned to town, was excellent and very pleasant. The food at the restaurant was just okay; I received six rigatoni noodles with a large amount of small stewed tomatoes.
Response from Host, Sep 2025
Ciao Debbie!
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. I must admit, your description of the day is a little puzzling. The first element you mention—the stop at a century-old bakery for traditional pizza and porchetta paired with local wine—is just one small part of the experience. As all our guests enjoy, there is also, of course, a formal guided tasting of three wines in the vineyard, which you didn’t note. The bakery stop is enjoyed in a local piazza, not, as you suggest, in the middle of a busy street.
I do recognize you had some difficulty joining us at the start. You arrived 15 minutes late, and as we could not keep the rest of the group waiting indefinitely, they moved on to a café. Unfortunately, you then joined a different group altogether, despite my repeated messages offering guidance on how to meet us. I’m sorry this caused you confusion, though it does seem the challenges you experienced were largely due to circumstances within your control.
We always strive to provide a smooth, enjoyable day, and I hope in the future you’ll find yourself better able to take part fully in what we offer.
