The wine was delicious and the views were stunning! The town was a calm reprieve from busy Rome. The restaurant at the end of the tour was so good. And the pork sandwich we had on the way was the best I had on the whole trip.
Renae_L, Apr 2026
The winery is small and the owner Paula has a love for her farm and its history. But I felt too much time spent explaining the process of taking care of the vines. The lunch was great in the town of Frascati.

Paola is a generational winemaker in Frascati and is also a certified enologist who assesses wines for DOC/DOCG certification levels. She toured us around her family vineyard and held an incredibly educational, yet friendly and warm, wine tasting. Dominique toured us around the downtown of Frascati and took us to an amazing bakery and then a local family-owned restaurant where our tour group had so much great local food presented to us that we gently rolled out the door at the end. If you are offered the homemade Limoncello, pay the small upcharge fee (5 euro per glass in cash) without question - it is excellent. Paola and Dominique made the excursion very special and an amazing experience.

I'd say it was the best winery tour I've ever done. It was so informative. We were outside in the vineyard and also in the cave tunnels below the main building. We had a lovely tasting under the trees with snacks to accompany the wines. The property is beautiful.
The walk around town was great. Our tour guide was very lively. We stopped for aperitivo before our main lunch at a lovely restaurant. During lunch, our tables had a variety of meats and cheeses and we were served two different pastas for our main meal.
I think our group was just excellent. I traveled solo, so I was sat with a family from South Africa for the wine tasting under the trees and then with a family from the United States and a couple from Denmark for lunch.
All around, it was a great experience.

We arrived in Frascati by train from Rome in 20 min, met our friendly driver and were taken to a local winery who had been growing grapes and producing Frascati wines for generations. We learned the history of both the wine and this beautiful family who have succeeded to continue a tradition of superior wine makers. During every phase of this tour we could could feel the love of wine, love of family and love of Italy. Simply a superb tour if you want to learn about Frascati, enjoy some wine and olive oil and be present in a location that the elite Roman Soldiers relished for years and years. The owner and host, Paola, was informative about why they make Frascati here, told fun and interesting stories about her family and we explored the incredibly ancient wine caves (see pic).
To finish our tour we were introduced to the cute town of Frascati, which featured a healthy amount of fine jewelry stores and even more flavorful baked goods, markets and restaurants! Dominique, our vivacious and knowledgeable local guide escorted us to her fav local restaurant where the owner and staff could not be more inviting and generous!
So good we'll be back again!

Everything went perfectly and as advertised. Instructions for the train from Rome were easy to follow and pickup in Frascati was immediate and easy. The winery was wonderful and a great experience. The time in Frascati was so sweet and the food amazing. Great guides and we enjoyed the other folks with us on the tour.

Despite rain and canceled trains, we had a wonderful time on this tour. Everyone was very flexible and accommodating. We learned a lot and had wonderful wine and food. Thank you!

Amazing Frascati Wine Tour
We had the best time on this tour. So funny and enjoyable. Great guides, beautiful locations, delicious food and artisanal wines. Frascati is an easy 25 minute train ride from Rome and such a nice reprise from the crowds in the city. We even bought a few bottles to bring home. Thank you!
Response from Host, Feb 2026
Ciao Anjuli! Thank you so much for your precious review and for spending the day with us in Frascati. We loved having you! Grazie!

This was a great addition to my trip to Rome. I wanted to get out of the city and see the countryside for a day trip, and this tour was the perfect fit. To start, the train ride was simple and only 25 minutes from my hotel
in Rome. The guides were so engaging and accommodating. If you like getting a sense of a local experience when you travel, this is the tour for you. We stopped at great vendors, tasted great wine, and ate great food. I will be back with my partner next time!!

The Perfect Excursion from Rome! We loved our half-day wine tour with Old Frascati Food & Wine Tours. They provided excellent instructions for reaching Frascati by train and our driver Marco picked us up at the station right on time. He brought us to the most beautiful family run winery for a tour of the winery with the winemaker and the tasting of their 3 wines with yummy snacks. After a few hours at the winery we were driven back to the center of Frascati to meet our local guide Dominique who showed us around the charming city center and to the old bakery to try ‘pizza and porchetta’ with house wine. After our tour around town we were brought to a little family run osteria for lunch with mixed starters, 2 homemade pastas and more house wine. Everyone was kind and helpful and spoke excellent English. The value for everything that was included is amazing and I cannot recommend this tour highly enough! Grazie!

What a fantastic way to spend a half day just outside Rome! The atmosphere was super relaxed and very genuine. At the winery we got to walk through the vineyards and explore a centuries-old wine cave with the winemaker Paola. The wine tasting was excellent, with generous pours and thoughtful explanations from Paola who is very passionate about her work. Our guide is town was Daniela and she was friendly and fun, showing us around Frascati and we tried some traditional local porchetta with some house wine. The osteria lunch is delicious and was paired with more local wine. This tour strikes a wonderful balance between wine, food, and Italian countryside charm.

Amazing experience for our honeymoon! Wonderful cave/wine experience at an authentic winery, followed by an insightful tour of the little town, and then a wonderful lunch at a local restaurant. Delicious wine throughout to adds to the experience!
Joseph_O, Nov 2025
That was the worst tour I have ever been on. From the start when we were picked up in dirty car until we walked out of the restaurant before our main meal was served the tour was a disaster.
I am too angry to further comment but what a complete waste of money and we lost a half day of our Italian holiday due to complete Incompetence.
Response from Host, Feb 2026
Hi Joseph,
We are sorry this was your experience but this is a you thing... therapy could help? Wine certainly did not...
Catherine_R, Nov 2025
Easy to get to meeting point after exiting the train. Guide at winery was pleasant and engaging. Nice break away from the city.

Ciao Catherine! Thank you for your visit :)

Paula and Giovanna were amazing guides! The tour was great and the wineyard was very beautiful! We learned a lot and the wines and food were great!
Frascati was picturesque and the view over Rome amazing. They also make it possible for people in weelchair.

Ciao Erik! Thank you for visiting! Grazie!

Sharon_S, Sep 2025
Wonderful experience! The winery tour was one of the best I’ve ever done. I love the village of Frascati. Charming to say the least. Excellent lunch and amazing views of Rome. I highly recommend this excursion.
Bonita_F, Sep 2025
This tour was a lot of fun and we drank a lot of wine. The tour guide was very friendly and met us at the train station in Frascati as promised. The tour of the winery was very informative and the wine tasting (2 whites and 1 red) was yummy. The pork sandwiches at the bakery were delicious and the lunch with wine at the restaurant was fantastic. It was a great way to spend a day and see something outside of Rome.
Debbie_l, Sep 2025
It was not what I had anticipated—a small sandwich and house wine served in plastic cups, out in the middle of the street, while being bitten by insects at the winery. As we walked through the vines, people were falling and slipping, and tasting wine in a cave felt chaotic. I was four minutes late, and they didn’t even wait for me; they had to return and didn't have enough vehicles to accommodate the large group. The only positive aspect I can mention is that the tour guide, when we returned to town, was excellent and very pleasant. The food at the restaurant was just okay; I received six rigatoni noodles with a large amount of small stewed tomatoes.
Response from Host, Sep 2025
Ciao Debbie!
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. I must admit, your description of the day is a little puzzling. The first element you mention—the stop at a century-old bakery for traditional pizza and porchetta paired with local wine—is just one small part of the experience. As all our guests enjoy, there is also, of course, a formal guided tasting of three wines in the vineyard, which you didn’t note. The bakery stop is enjoyed in a local piazza, not, as you suggest, in the middle of a busy street.
I do recognize you had some difficulty joining us at the start. You arrived 15 minutes late, and as we could not keep the rest of the group waiting indefinitely, they moved on to a café. Unfortunately, you then joined a different group altogether, despite my repeated messages offering guidance on how to meet us. I’m sorry this caused you confusion, though it does seem the challenges you experienced were largely due to circumstances within your control.
We always strive to provide a smooth, enjoyable day, and I hope in the future you’ll find yourself better able to take part fully in what we offer.

A great day out of Rome , well organised & the star of the show was guide Daniella . Wine tasting was very informative but relaxed , personal & generous , thank you Paolla . Thoroughly recommend this tour.
Karla_W, Aug 2025
Knowledge of Paola and the unique experience of the wine cave was fantastic. Wine was excellent, as was the food and ambience at the vineyard. Daniela, as our town guide was entertaining and fun. Lunch was excellent. Easy transportation on the train from Rome both ways.
Stuart_H, Aug 2025
We had a really fun day. We had lots to eat and drink and were fully satisfied. Paula is fascinating to listen to as she shows you around her vineyards and talks you through the wines
Gina_L, Aug 2025
Wonderful experience with a very knowledgeable and friendly guide. 10/10 for sure and would use this company again!!!
vanessa_n, Jul 2025
We’ve been on frascati tours that have been exceptional but this was a disaster. Poor location spot which was confusing and had people arriving late. Careless drivers with music left on loud during the time of the tour. They skipped one of the activities without explaining why - this is the view of the town and Rome. Long wait to get out of the first stop. Big waste of time.
Response from Host, Jul 2025
Ciao Vanessa,
We're truly sorry to hear that your experience didn’t meet expectations. That said, your review came as quite a surprise. Your guide Giovanna recalls your family as engaged, happy, and without any concerns during the tour.
We understand you had trouble reaching the meeting point, though we sent detailed directions, and the vast majority of guests arrived by train as outlined.
The winery is a highly rated and popular location, and the time spent there followed the itinerary. All tour activities, including the visit to the town viewpoint, were conducted as scheduled.
The music you mentioned may have been during the brief taxi rides, which are outside the guided portion of the tour.
While we always welcome honest feedback, we also feel it's important to clarify when details don’t reflect the actual experience. Our team works hard to create meaningful, enjoyable experiences, and we stand by their efforts.
We wish you all the best in your future travels!

This half-day wine tour was great but with a little disappointment.
First we started off at a winery, which was a shed with coverage and a driveway in the middle of vineyards and did not match other travelers or the hosts photos. We did not meet the family, get a wine cellar tour, or go to the winery in the pictures, it was literally a shed with tables so at first I was pretty disappointed by this because I wanted to go to the winery in other reviews photos and I would NOT have booked this tour if I had known this prior, so beware of that.
At the winery shed, our host Maximilian was great so that made up for it. He cooked us many snacks and served us many glasses of wine and shared with us! He was a really awesome person and made up for the lack of an actual winery.
During the tour of Frascati Giovanna was very informative, funny, and nice. We got a snack at a local shop, focaccia and pork and a cup of wine, then we went to lunch at a family owned restaurant in Frascati, and there we got meats cheeses and pasta with wine. A lot of the shops in Frascati were closed when our tour ended so we just went back to Rome, the train was very easy to navigate there and back. Frascati is also cooler than Rome if you’re looking to escape the heat.
Overall it was a great tour, I was just disappointed that we didn’t get to go to the winery in the pictures, and I would’ve rather cancelled and done another Frascati tour because that was the reason I booked it. But wherever we were did have cute views, it was a unique experience and our guides were great. I would just check in advance where you’re going. It was also just me, my partner, and one solo traveler.
Response from Host, Jul 2025
Ciao Jenna!
I'm glad that your overall experience was a positive one, we all work hard to provide all of our guests with an excellent experience.
I do apologize that on the specific date of your tour we did visit a different vineyard location than normal. There was a family emergency with the family at our usual winery location due to an injury and in cases like this we shift the wine tasting portion of the tour to another vineyard location. It was a short, temporary location shift and we're back at our regular winery.
I'm sorry you weren't able to see the winery you had hoped, but I am glad you were able to still have a good experience with us.
Chris_C, Jul 2025
Brilliant tour, a nice and relaxing way to escape busy Rome for the day, and a great way to see the local area too.
Plenty of great wine and food, and a really interesting and informative talk from friendly and passionate locals. Would highly recommend
Laura_Y, Jul 2025
Our day began with a private ride and tour of a local vinyard. We had a truly awesome morning with Ben, one of the proprietors of the vinyard. It was a true family atmosphere- the wine and company was great and we really enjoyed our time. We next ventured into town for a lovely tour and multiple stops for food. For the cost of the tour and all that was provided, it was such an incredible value. We’ve done multiple excursions during our time in Rome and this was by far our favorite. Can’t recommend more and request Ben and his vinyard if possible.
R_B, Jun 2025
Danielle and the staff at the vineyard were great and very informative. My husband said this was his favorite tour I had us signed up for during our four day trip in Rome. Lunch was amazing, the wines were great, and we got to learn a lot about the adorable town of Frascati.
Lorraine_M, May 2025
This tour was everything we had hoped for. You just take the train from Rome and are met at the train station in Fracasi. It’s a small group and you’re taken to the vineyard/farmhouse. It’s a beautiful location and Paola provides very good explanation about the winemaking. The wines and light lunch is very nice. You’re then taken into town for a tour and info from another Paola (?) and you end with a large meal with wine. Very nice tour!
