Rome and Vatican

Actually, not 5/5 but I would give this tour a 4.5/5. We did this 7-8 hour private tour with Rahul to see the Vatican and Old Rome. He's been doing this for many years and has perfected this tour in his own way over time. He was also engaged with the kids to understand what everyone desired to get out of this tour, irrespective of age. We started off doing the Vatican City, then Old Rome. I wish it were done the other way due to the afternoon heat since old Rome is mostly outdoors, and it was hot. Given it was a private tour, he first got a sense of where we wanted to spend more time and where we wanted to spend less and planned the tour accordingly. It was a walking tour through all the sites. Make sure you wear comfortable sneakers. He carries illustrative books to give you a sense of what Rome looked like back in the day. We stopped at a self-service cafeteria for a hurried lunch, which could have been done better, in my opinion, and the money paid should have been included. All admissions to the sites were included. Also, transport between Vatican sites and Old Rome should have been included

Incredible Rome tour

Our family of 7 spent a remarkable day with Rahul viewing the major Rome attractions. As others have noted Rahul's knowledge and insight is first class. I can't imagine anyone better to spend a day with to gain an appreciation and overview of Rome highlights. Our weather was HOT (100 degrees) but Rahul kept us on track and in shade as much as possible. The passion and knowledge he shared with us was unparalleled and highly recommend this tour!

A Day in Rome

If you are looking for a bargain basement tour of Rome, this is not for you. Those dime a dozen tours rehash the same old things (some true, some not) and whisk you around to the various venues with little more than placing a label on what you are seeing. If, however, you are the type of person who wants in depth knowledge from a variety of perspectives, then Raul and Europe Odyssey Tours is the right choice. Do you want a political, religious, cultural, or historic side of the Vatican? Check. Inside stories about Michelangelo and his drawings on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel? Check. Historical insights to the whys and how's of the Colosseum its construction, use, and impact in the Roman Empire? Check. How about conversation with an extremely bright, well-spoken historian who can substantively answer almost any question you may have? Check. This is a quality tour experience for anyone wanting more than just show and blabber. Could not have been happier with our choice of tour given our very limited time in Rome. If we return, Raul, will be the first person we contact to once again lead us on an informative adventure through the streets of Rome.
