Lisa, our guide was amazing! She picked excellent spots in Monti for our food tour. From a small family Bodega to a nice sit down restaurant and finally a Gelato hidden gem! Amazing experience and would 100 recommend this tour.

The perfect way to get to know Monti

This was the first thing we did after landing in Rome and it was the perfect start to our visit. Lisa is a great host and does a wonderful job of not only showing you where to go but also the history behind it. I couldn't recommend this experience enough especially if you will be in the Monti area!

Amazing food tour

Lisa was brilliant and had plenty of knowledge and kept us entertained throughout the food and drink was lovely and we left feeling full. Would definitely recommend as we would not have seen all the beautiful side streets and food places otherwise!!

Great introduction to Rome

This was such a great way to start our trip to Rome. Having Lisa show us and our three teenage boys around was like visiting with an old friend. Her knowledge of the area and the food itself made us more brave and interested in trying new things for the duration of our trip.

Lisa was a fantastic host. I couldn’t recommend this tour more! She was excellent in showing us all the food stops, but also giving us some invaluable information about being in Rome along the way. There was a perfect amount of food, and we went back to some of the places she pointed out the following day. Lisa is someone who clearly loves what she does. Thank you Lisa.

Highway robbery

The description promised “lunch and dinner”; in actuality, the experience lasted 2 and 1/2 hours, with 4 stops: a Calabrian grocery (while we are n Rome), a suppli/steet food shop, a trattoria, and a gelateria. At the trattoria we requested to sit outside (quintessenttial Roman activity) but we’re denied. The wines served during the tour were bad table wines. In total the food and drinks could not have cost more than 20 euros. While the tour guide, Lisa, was friendly and jovial, the tour is a rip off.

Foodie adventure in Monti

Had a wonderful time with our great food tour guide, Lisa! It was a group of 6 people, and she made sure she was including all of us in the discussions. I wish we would have done this tour earlier in our trip, since Lisa gave us so much insider traveler tips when visiting Rome! We had amazing apps at a local mom and pop shop, a taste of Rome style suppli, two different pasta dishes AND Gelato! Lisa took time and explained how to cook each italian dish also. Fantastic tour in the small neighborhood of Monti and would recommend to all foodies!!

Monti Food Walking Tour

Over the years this is our 4th Food Walking Tour in Rome with Viator. This was an evening walking tour in the Monti Region. The tour guide Lisa, was very gracious and informative. We started in a little mom and pop grocery store. They had a nice selection of cheeses, olives, salami and various other things for us to taste. Owner was informative we purchased several of his products-one of which is a Pistachio liquor . Also a spread made with baby anchovies and sun dried tomatoes-fabulous. Next stop was not good at all-a suppli which was way over done dark dark old oil. 3rd stop was a neighborhood restaurant where we had 2 pastas-delicious. Last stop great gelato. Last week was a terrible week in Rome weather wise, that may have slanted our opinion.

Our guide, Lisa, was fantastic! She took s to a variety of places to try out different foods. She also gave several other non-food suggestions for the area. She was very knowledgeable and informative about all the foods and their origins. We have gone back to several of our stops already!

A must do food tour in Monti!

Lisa was a great host on our food tour and took us to some great back alley local eateries. Very informative about the neighborhood and we went back to one of the stops the next day to shop for some cheese, bread and wine. Was within walking distance of our apartment so it gave us a good sense of how to get around Monti. I would highly recommend.

Eat like a local!

My husband and I took this food tour and it ended up being a private tour for us! We were pleasantly surprised. The tour guide, Lisa, was very knowledgeable and kind about the area. The food and wine were very good. The places she took us were awesome! My one recommendation is that maybe the tour be specified a little bit more in its description. For example, we had done a lot of walking that day and were thinking we were going to take a short walk and sit down and eat somewhere but the first place had no seating and we had to order a water because we didn’t bring ours assuming we would be given drinks. We were given a delicious glass of wine but no water. This would not be a problem if it was laid out a little bit clearer ahead of time. Otherwise- it was a wonderful experience and gave us a chance to see where the locals eat! Thank you so much, Lisa!
