Knowledgeable tour guide, horrible experience once we finally got into the Sistine Chapel.

Laura_M, Jun 2024
Let me explain why I gave 3 stars. Our tour guide Monica was AMAZING! So knowledgeable! The tour company was very organized. If you want to do a tour with the company, they are outstanding, I would not recommend this specific tour. We are a family of 6 and I really wanted to expose my children 13-23 years of age to St. Peters Basilica and The Sistine Chapel. We booked an 8:00 am tour to beat the crowds and skip the lines. We were shuffled through a museum for 2 hours; with more information than any brain could absorb, then herded through the Sistine Chapel like a bunch of caddle. Instead of having our quiet, aha moment, in the Sistine Chapel, we were yelled at by an employee to keep moving, clear the sides, and stay in the middle. By the time we got to St. Peter's Basilica, my family was tired, hungry and overwhelmed. Instead of a beautiful, spiritual experience, they now are disgusted by their Catholic religion and what it has become. Before the museum was opened this experience was wonderful. You started in St. Peter's Square, entered the basilica, could see the crypt and be exposed to the blessed sacrament, go to confession if you like, then go into a quiet Sistine Chapel and enjoy the beauty. Not anymore! It has become a crowded, overwhelming spectacle. Horrible experience for my family. Now, if you want an art history lesson with 400 people, it is the perfect tour for you, but this was not the experience we expected, especially after waking everyone up at 6:30 a.m. My advice, buy skip-the-line tickets to the Basilica and Sistine Chapel and enjoy your moments without a tour guide. Google Michelangelo and ST, Peters Basilica. Monica told us some amazing stories about Michelangelo that were fascinating. Book this tour company for a day excursion outside of Rome!!!!

Dear Laura, We are delighted to hear that you appreciated the service provided by our guide Monica and the organization of our staff. Regarding the duration of the tour, we are sorry to learn that it did not meet your expectations. Our tours cover only the highlights within the Vatican Museums, and it would be impossible to visit them in less than 2 hours and 30 minutes. Additionally, as this was a guided tour in a group with other people, it could not be tailored specifically to your needs. Given that you enjoyed our company and the guide, we would like to invite you to opt for a private tour next time, which can better meet your needs and be more suitable for children. Furthermore, we would like to emphasize that the Basilica is entirely free to enter, so there are no tickets available to skip the line since no one can bypass the security checks required for entry. As for the Sistine Chapel (which is not a private chapel), it is located within the Museums, so once again, there is no direct access to it without passing through the various halls of the Museums. Regarding the tour start time, we would like to reiterate that we offer many other slots throughout the day, including in the afternoon, providing ample options for those who do not wish to wake up early. Of course, we are always happy to welcome our customers for excursions outside of Rome as well! Thank you. Best regards, the EcoArt Team

Very good experience

Poornima_T, Jun 2024
We had an amazing time exploring the Vatican museum with our guide Laura. She was very knowledgeable and friendly and navigated us through the crowds. The art work is awe inspiring and she helped understand the intent and meaning of some of the most important ones.

Great good value informative tour

Patrick_W, Feb 2024
This was an excellent tour and you will know you have made a good decision to book it before you enter as you pass the long queue. Monica was really friendly and very knowledgeable. The group size was ideal and there was the opportunity to break away from the tour once inside, although we stayed until the end in order to access the priority entry to the Basilica. The tour went at a good pace, but realistically there were rooms we skirted past in order to keep to the schedule. If you want to do the museum, Sistine Chapel and Basilica in one day this tour is perfect and was a great appetiser for a more leisurely visit in the future. Thank you Monika for a great tour.

Knowledgeable and compassionate tour guide. Lots of stairs!

Jennifer_H, Jan 2024
Our guide Sara was very knowledgeable and considerate of everyone in our tour group. My mother had a knee injury and difficulty getting around and she was very conscious of the portions of the tour dominated by stairs. I observed her being very kind also to a family touring with their infant. There are A LOT of stairs on this tour. Lifts not available for 90% of the tour. If you have difficulty getting around, please consider.
