A highlight of our trip! make sure to arrive hungry because there is plenty of food! We made 2 pasta dishes and individual pizzas and everything was delicious. It is outside of the city and you meet at the train station but it is out in the country side which was nice to get away from the city for a little bit.

Chef Michele made the cooking experience fun and informative. Our whole family had a great time and learned how to make pizza and pasta at the same time. The outdoor setting added to the experience. Highly recommend this for an evening activity.

We had a wonderful experience at a pizza and pasta making class in Rome/Laurentina and highly recommend it. While it does take a bit of travel to get there, it’s absolutely worth it and shouldn’t discourage anyone from going. The total travel time including Metro from Rome Center (Spanish Steps) and van drive is approximately 50 mins. The class was excellent—well organized and fun—and the instructor was knowledgeable and engaging. The food we made was fresh and delicious, and the complimentary wine and water were a great touch. The night was ended with Tiramisu and lemoncello! Overall, a memorable and worthwhile experience.

This was a great class....

Barrett_Y, Jul 2026
This was a great class. It was very hands on! It's pretty far out of the city, but easy to access via the metro. I was met by someone from the class and their directions were easy to follow.

DO NOT BOOK!!! Worse experience ever

Brayden_R, Jul 2026
Worse experience with any cooking class ever. Started with issues with location. Wanted me travel 35 mins by metro when it says it close to the colosseum. Once this issue was raised they finally decided to say they would pick up from the original location. We went and spent the day at the colosseum then we found a babysitter and spent 250euros for one for the hours we were gonna be away and then the driver never showed up. She messaged me that they were there and sent me in a wild walk all around but no one was there. So disappointing as this trip we got married and we’re hoping to have a cool cooking experience in the heart of rome

Response from Host, Jul 2026

Dear Brayden, We are sorry for your disappointment, but your review omits the key facts. You booked an experience that, for safety and insurance reasons, cannot accept infants under 1 year old. When this was clarified, you requested a refund and explicitly wrote that, if we did not refund, you would leave a negative review. We have the written messages documenting this. Despite this, we still arranged a team member at the requested meeting point at the scheduled time as a courtesy. The issue was never a refusal to assist you; the issue was that we could not legally and safely transport or admit an infant to the facility. Your review states that the driver “never showed up,” but our written conversation and operational records show that our team was sent to the meeting point and was actively trying to locate you. We cannot compromise guest safety or insurance requirements, and we cannot treat a refund demand linked to a threatened negative review as a fair description of our service. We are sorry the class did not happen, but we stand by our conduct and by the safety rules that apply to every guest.

This activity is way out of the way but was a wonderful experience. We really enjoyed seeing more of a woodsy/country section of Rome and that class was fun and informative (and yummy). Highly recommend. Just be sure you are aware of the distance. They offer a free van which is useful if you want to take the metro to the pickup area, or happen to be near that area.

The staff was attentive, nice, and made sure you had a great experience. Everything was great. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is visiting Rome

Great experience! My 15...

Kim_P, Jun 2026
Great experience! My 15 year old daughter & I did this at the height of summer - so much fun, and the location is beautiful! Be advised that much of the experience is outdoors - in the shade at all times, but outdoors. It was very warm when we were there, makes it a bit difficult to enjoy pizza and pasta when you’re hot - but they did a marvelous job and would recommend highly!

Amazing Experience

Good but wrong info listed

Salley_W, Jun 2026
This was a great cooking course. Our chef Alicia was very knowledgeable and explained well so I now know I can make author pizza and pasta at my home. However they advertise the wrong pick up location so we had to pay to catch the train at the last minute to make our booking. This added stress to my afternoon and meant we had to catch the train back to town at night. They were aware of this issue in their listening but do not fix it.

Response from Host, Jul 2026

Dear guest, Thank you very much for joining our cooking class and for your kind words about the experience and our chef. We are very happy to know that you enjoyed the class and that you learned how to make pizza and pasta at home. We are sorry, however, to read that the meeting point information created stress before the class. Our official meeting point and transfer details are provided in the Viator booking confirmation, and we always ask guests to follow the final instructions shown there. Our school is not located in the city centre, which is why we provide a transfer service from the designated meeting point. We understand that any confusion about transportation can be frustrating, especially when travelling in Rome, and we are constantly working to make the pre-arrival instructions as clear as possible for our guests. Thank you again for your feedback and for your positive comments about the cooking experience itself. We truly appreciate it. Kind regards, Rome Pizza & Pasta School Team

Wonderful Day Activity

Ashley_H, Jun 2026
We booked this experience in advance and felt like we received plenty of information and directions on how to get there. We opted to take the Metro, and were greeted with a friendly smile within the timeframe they said we would be picked up. The class was located outside of Rome, but we loved getting to see outside of the city. It did take additional time, but we felt it was worth the journey. The cooking class is outside in rustic style huts and outdoor area. It was so quaint and pleasant. Our chef for the day Alessia was so engaging, funny, and helpful. We are so glad we read the reviews about not eating before! We did the 10:30 class and it was perfect timing for lunch. We ate our homemade pizzas, pasta, and tiramisu and were stuffed. We were impressed with the class and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to do a fun half day activity.

Alessia was an amazing chef and host! She made it seem like cooking with family at home! So knowledgeable and welcoming! We loved the experience! My husband and I will be back!

Ok, but not great.

Leonardo_F, Jun 2026
We went there JUST to make pasta/pizza and eat it. There was no explanation about the sauces used or measurements or kind of flour. We had to ask constantly about everything.

Response from Host, Jul 2026

Dear guest, Thank you for joining our pizza and pasta class and for sharing your feedback. We are sorry to read that the experience did not fully meet your expectations. Our class normally includes explanations about the dough, flour, basic measurements, pasta preparation, sauces, and cooking process, but we understand from your review that you felt you did not receive enough information during your session. This is useful feedback for us, and we will review it internally with the team to make sure every guest receives clear explanations throughout the class, not only practical guidance. Our goal is always to offer a hands-on cooking experience that is both enjoyable and informative, so we are sorry that this was not your impression. Thank you again for your comments. They help us improve. Kind regards, Rome Pizza & Pasta School Team

It is an amazing experience. It’s a good way to Get familiarized with local cuisine how its prepared the right way.

Great cooking class

Amanda_P, Jun 2026
We had a great time and the chef Giuseppe (the owner) was very passionate about cooking which I loved!!! Definitely an experience where you learn! It was outside of the city in a quiet rural area! I would definitely recommend!

Bad directions

Dominic_F, Jun 2026
The directions were not very clear. It’s really far from the initial point. I would have never picked it if they said I would have to take 3 subway stations. Just say one address !!! The directions in maps also we’re not clear

Response from Host, Jun 2026

We actually don't have 3 subways (2 and very easy to use) in Roma, you were the only one who had problems to get our team because you didn't read the instructions. We gave all the support to help, but probably you were tired for your day. Dominic, your no-show was only because you didn't give any attention to all our communication and informations on the voucher.

Great Concept - Not Quite Executed

Roger_S, May 2026
The concept is great. I’m not sure if this is normal of if they were overwhelmed for our trip. The chef was agitated and rushed. Things were not set up so, they were tossing equipment at us and grabbing it back before we even took a breath. They commented that the prior group was late (many times) or that it had been a long day. I felt bad for them but also our group that paid for the experience that didn’t hit the mark. We left with no recipes or written instructions to take home. I wanted to love it. Note- if you take the metro. It was really easy but it was unclear where to meet. The easy answer is, there is really only one exit when you get there. Go up and van was right there.

Response from Host, Jun 2026

Thank you very much for your honest feedback. We are truly sorry that the experience did not fully meet your expectations. You are right: even when a previous group arrives late or the team has had a long day, this should never affect the quality or rhythm of your class. The atmosphere should feel welcoming, organized and enjoyable, not rushed. We will speak with the team and use your comments to improve our internal organization and timing. Regarding the recipes, they are actually available in the patio through a QR code, but clearly this was not communicated well enough during your class. That is our responsibility, and we will make sure this is explained more clearly to future guests. We are glad that the metro and van connection was easy, and we also appreciate your note about making the meeting point instructions clearer. That is very useful feedback. Thank you again for taking the time to write this. We are sorry we did not fully deliver the experience you hoped for, and we will take your comments seriously.

We had the best time & the food was insane! Props to the chef/teacher- he had such a good vibe and made it a memorable experience.

Frustrating to have a ned dress that is not able to be found through gps

Earl_L, May 2026
We were unable to get the directions for the alternative meeting place until the day if so we did not get to go at all.

John_K, May 2026
It was a little more 'Rustic' than we expected. Our experience was also marred by other participants bringing their 3.5 year old along.

Response from Host, Jun 2026

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that the setting felt more rustic than expected. Our school is intentionally located in a countryside-style environment, which many guests enjoy for its authentic and informal atmosphere, but we understand that expectations can vary. Regarding the young child in the class, we are sorry this affected your experience. While families are welcome, we always expect parents to supervise their children so that the class remains enjoyable for everyone. Your comment is useful and we will take it into account to better manage similar situations in the future. Thank you again for joining us.

Off the beaten path but well worth it! Thoroughly enjoyed learning about making pizza and pasta (and of course eating it), and baking it in the pizza oven. The chef was great and made the class fun!

Good tour

After sorting out some logistics, we very much enjoyed the cooking class - the class was well organized. The instructor was enthusiastic.

A must do. My husband and did this with our friends and made a sweet memory.

This was such a great experience. Being out on someone's personal property just outside of Rome made it feel so homey.

Our instructor was very informative and hands on. I don’t usually care too much for pizza but the homemade pizza we got to make was delicious and so was the pasta! We made two shapes and one had swordfish and the other ragu. they also accommodated my dairy intolerance.
