Great class! This is out of the city and it felt good to get away. The chef is professional and passionate about his classes. He taught well and the food is good. I look forward to making my own pasta and pizza at home!

A great experience in the Roman countryside. Pasta and pizza were the best I've ever had. Can't wait to make some at home for the family

We loved it! Giuseppe and Valeri were great! Food was delicious. We met some Polish-German sisters, an American student studying in Spain and a young Italian couple. Such a wonderful way to spend lunch and very hands-on!

Welcoming cooking class

Melissa_G, Mar 2026
Fun cooking class with a very welcoming family and experienced chef, but the location is far outside of rome. You have to take the metro and then ride in a van another 30 mins to the location, which is primarily outdoors. The could accommodate my vegan dietary restriction, with no problem, and the food turned out delicious. However, you dont actually make the pizza dough. It’s prepared and you just shape it, add toppings and cook it

Maribel_M, Feb 2026
The host never said his name, we were not asked to introduce ourselves, the pizza dough was already prepared by the chef, I wanted to be able to participate in making it, there was not enough ingredients to add to the pizza, the first 5 black women served themselves like there was nobody else waiting,

Not the best

Migdalia_R, Feb 2026
This place is very rustic and runned down. The host nor the chef ever said their names. There was no interaction between the people of the group. You don't make the pizza dough

So far from Rome!!!!

Colleen_R, Nov 2025
Don’t take this cooking class!!!!!! It is so far out of Rome. The transportation they offer changed the meeting point an hour before the class. I messaged and asked them to wait 5 minutes bc of the time it would take us to get to the new meeting point. They would not wait. They told us to take a taxi. No taxis would take us bc it is so far from Rome. We tired 4 taxis. They refused to give us a refund even though they changed the meeting point.

Response from Host, Nov 2025

Dear client, we're really sorry, but actually we have the same meeting point since 13 years ago. We don't change anything. Maybe it's a good idea to read the information about the meeting point before (in our 3 communication, once at the booking, once the day before, once the same day via email and WhatsApp).

Great for all ages

We had a fantastic time at this class! My grandmother is 81 years old and was able to fully participate, making this a suitable activity for all ages. Good was delicious, instructions were clear, and staff was hospitable. All in a unique setting.

I had an amazing time making this pizza and pasta. My group was so friendly and the instructor was very informative! The wine was flowing and the conversations were great! I’d give 1000 stars if I could

Excellent Class - A Must Do

Erin_F, Nov 2025
Incredible experience - highly recommended! The booking process was easy and the guides communicated well! The class location is very nice and clean, and very organized. The instructor was incredibly knowledgeable about making dough and offered a lot of tips and instructions. The class moved along at a good pace, with time to ask questions. Cooking the pizzas in the oven was a fun experience! Then eating everything we cooked was great! The dessert and limoncello tasting topped off the night perfectly! This is a MUST do!

Excellent Pizza Class — But Confusing Logistics and a Late Night

Timothy_S, Nov 2025
The class itself was fantastic — a full five-star experience. The instructor made it fun and engaging, and I’ve already made Neapolitan pizza several times since returning home. We learned, cooked, laughed, and enjoyed pizza, pasta, and wine together afterward. My reason for giving four stars instead of five comes down to the logistics. Originally, our class was scheduled for 10:30 a.m., but the day before, the tour operator asked us to switch to the 5:30 p.m. class, saying it would be a smaller group. We agreed, but the class ended up being just as full, and we didn’t sit down to eat until after 8:00 p.m. — a much later night than expected. The bigger issue was Viator’s confusing meetup information. The Viator listing said the meeting point was Laurentina Metro Station, but the map on the Viator page showed a pin on Via del Corso, only a few blocks from our hotel. I assumed the map was correct and that Laurentina referred to something nearby. The tour operator also texted “Laurentina Metro”, but I didn’t realize that Laurentina is actually about a 25–30 minute drive from central Rome — not a short walk away. Since we were traveling with my wife’s 80-year-old parents, we decided to take a taxi directly to the class rather than walk to what I thought was the meetup point on Via del Corso. That decision turned out to be the only reason we made it on time — had we walked to Via del Corso as shown on Viator’s map, we would have completely missed the class. To the operator’s credit, they gave us a ride back to Laurentina afterward and were very kind about the mix-up. But when I mentioned the problem, their only response was, “I don’t know why Viator does that.” Bottom line: The class was excellent and absolutely worth doing — just don’t rely on the Viator map for the meetup location. Confirm the exact spot directly with the operator before you go.

Don’t use Viator!

Sarah_C, Oct 2025
This was quite the experience. This class is located 15km away from city center and we did not know until the day of. We took the metro and a van ride to get there. The chef was very nice and the food turned out good but it was a little concerning for the first portion of the class. I booked 6 tours with Viator for my trip to Italy, after this I cancelled the remaining 3 tours. Viator is awful, please book directly with the company or use a different service!!

Response from Host, Oct 2025

Dear Sarah, your 3 star review affect our ranking... If you had a good time with us, I hope you'll understand that if you want to punish the resell, posting a 3 star review to the real company it's not very fair. I really hope you can considerate to remove this evaluation. If you want to leave a review for Viator you can do it on trust pilot not on our page. Thank you for your understanding The Rome School team

Amazing experience! Really enjoyed the whole thing. Staff were fantastic, really friendly and made the whole experience so much more enjoyable!

Once we got there it was fun

Susan_B, Oct 2025
The meeting place was unclear as google map addresses read the subway entrance , not the stop at end of subway line as stated in the description! Once we arrived it was fun… the food was delicious, instructor was knowledgeable!

Frustrated and poor customer service

William_B, Oct 2025
When I clicked on the link for the meeting place, it sent me to the wrong address. When I contacted customer service, they told me they had already left and said I would have to take a taxi to the location of the class. By the time I was able to get a cab, the class had already started. They were not willing to work with me to reschedule or refund any of my money. I do not speak Italian, and getting around Rome is very difficult. The guy at customer service could have been a little more understanding. I will be contesting this charge on my credit card. I would not recommend any excisions offered by Viator.
