We had a great time! I totally recommend this tour to other visitors. The only way to see some of the lighthouses on this tour is by water.

One of the things that makes our lighthouse tours so special is the unique perspective you get from the water. As you mentioned, some of these iconic Maine lighthouses can only truly be appreciated—or even seen at all—from the ocean. Seeing them from the same vantage point as generations of mariners is an experience that's hard to replicate from shore.

Was scary at first because of the speed, but captain is knowledgeable and knows what he is doing. Tour in itself was amazing.

Tour was canceled 2 hrs before, no reason given. No alternatives. This after getting a confirmation it was going to happen just an hour before. Still no refund received.

Thank you for your feedback, and I’m truly sorry your experience didn’t meet expectations. I’d like to offer some clarification regarding the situation.
The tour was unfortunately canceled due to a family emergency involving our captain, which was entirely out of our control. In the email we sent, which you confirmed reading, we clearly offered you the same tour either the following day or on Saturday. We were more than happy to accommodate a reschedule.
You mentioned receiving a confirmation only three hours before the trip. However, our reminder emails are sent 24 hours in advance, so it’s unclear what that message may have been. We’re happy to look into that further if needed.
Importantly, we did not receive a response from you regarding whether you preferred to reschedule or receive a refund. Without that confirmation, we did not process anything on our end, as we were waiting to hear from you.
As for the refund process, please note that TripAdvisor handles the payment—we do not receive any funds until the tour is completed. We are responsible for initiating the refund, but from there it is entirely in TripAdvisor's hands. If you had responded to our email, we would have gladly directed you to them for follow-up or to request a refund from them.
We completely understand your disappointment and truly regret the inconvenience. However, we do feel this situation—and the resulting review—does not accurately reflect our team’s level of communication, professionalism, or the service we strive to provide. Of the five parties scheduled for the same tour, four were able to reschedule or be refunded successfully, and we were more than willing to do the same for you.
Again, we apologize for the cancellation, but safety and unforeseen circumstances are part of operating on the water, and we do our best to communicate quickly, clearly, and fairly when these situations arise.

Fantastic! Weather was perfect and the boat ride around to the lighthouses was awesome. We stopped at each light plenty of time to take photos. Our captain and first mate were so informative. Thoroughly enjoyed and thoroughly recommend.

The tour was canceled about seven hours before we were to board. I am trying desperately to get a refund from Viator as the tour company told me they cannot help because I booked through Viator.

Since your tour was booked through Viator, the refund must be requested directly through them. As the tour operator, we don't receive any payment until after the tour runs—so all cancellations and refunds are processed by Viator.
To request your refund:
Go to your confirmation email from Viator.
Click “Manage Booking” or log in to your Viator account.
You’ll see the option to request a refund for cancelled tours.
If you need help, Viator’s customer service is very responsive and can assist directly. Let us know if there’s anything else we can do on our end!

Enjoyed seeing all the lighthouses. My only suggestion would be to have a small foldable step in the boat while people are getting on and off. The tour was fabulous, would recommend it to anyone who likes lighthouses.

Captain was great and first mate! Perfect swift boat, saw all the Lighthouses. Perfect day and trip included seals, buffer bird, porpoises, and osprey!

We had an amazing trip with Captain Chris and Sophie! Safety first, our trip was cut short due to the storms but we did get to see the lighthouses which were AMAZING!

This was a great experience. We were able to see the seven lighthouses from waterside. There was one lighthouse that can only be experienced by boat and we were fortunate enough to see seals there; that was the only time we were able to see seals during our time in Maine. The captain and crew gave us historical information about the lighthouses and were very accommodating and delightful. We highly recommend this tour.

This was our third trip to Maine but our daughter’s first. I wanted her to see a few lighthouses and get out on the Atlantic. We all had such a good time! The captain was so knowledgeable, friendly, and has a great sense of humor. Our daughter declared it the best part of her vacation. I got to add a few lighthouses to my list too. Worth every dollar!

It was a blast. Everyone was friendly. The boat ride was exhilarating. Had a young kid with me and he loved it. Scary at first but fun was his opinion. Very informative. Worth every penny.

We took the tour with three grandchildren, ages 11, 10, and 7. Jack and Sydney made it memorable for the kids and they had a great time. The boat is surprisingly fast and we were able to see some harbor porpoises, harbor seals, and gray seals. They were knowledgeable and told us about the history of the various lighthouses and also about the sea mammals that we saw. We highly recommend the tour.

This was everyone's favorite part of the vacation to Maine. Beautiful scenery, great hosts, and perfect amount of time on the water! Bring sunscreen if you go during the summer months :) We saw porpoises along side of the boat, beautiful light houses, expensive yachts including the owner of Home Depot. Highly recommend this while visiting Portland!!!

Captain and first mate were awesome and knowledgeable. Great trip but not for elderly or mobility impaired. Basically a skiff with saddles for seats. Fun new rig. Great views of lighthouses and wildlife

We're sorry your tour was canceled, but mechanical issues and weather are unfortunate parts of boating in Maine.
Your refund was issued on our end, but sometimes there's a delay between the booking software and Viator. I would imagine you'll have it very soon.
I really wished you had left us a review/rating after you had taken one of our tours. I'm not really sure what the 3-star rating was for since you didn't get to experience the product. And we don't control when Viator refunds.
