Great way to see all of the major sites and get some history about them. I wish we were able to go into the buildings but it was a nice tour.

John did a great job going over the history and background of the several buildings we saw. It was raining but we had a good time. Extremely knowledgeable and friendly.

Must see and experience tour.

Constitutional Walking Tour in Philadelphia

We didn't get to go into Independence Hall due to the government shutdown, but we saw it from the outside, and we saw many other interesting places. Our guide gave us a lot of good information.

Our guide, Avi, was friendly, gave a presentation full of stories and historical facts and gladly answered our questions

Best tour guide ever!

Elizabeth_P, Oct 2025
Learn about the legacy the founding fathers left us! We absolutely loved hearing about everything on this tour. Our guide, Connor, has ruined us for any other tour guide. His knowledge was unmatched. And he was very good at not injecting any personal opinions into the information. It must be difficult to leave politics out of a tour concerning the early politics of our nation, but he managed it beautifully. We thouroughly enjoyed our tour.

Good tour

Walk in revolutionary history

Marc_L, Sep 2025
Very knowledgeable guide. PJ was excellent! First time visít ín Philly. Got many great insights about our founding fathers.

Disappointing

Charles_C, Sep 2025
Our guide was quite quirky and seemed to enjoy performing more than informing. It was, unfortunately, one of the worst walking tours we’ve booked through Viator.

Great Tour for Anyone

Mary_C, Aug 2025
Connor was outstanding -- pleasant and incredibly knowledgeable -- one of the best guides any in our group ever had. All of us learned so much -- even the native Philadelphia prof. Without much walking, you'll cover a great deal of historical ground. Totally recommend this tour for visitors and locals alike.

Walking History Tour Philly

Bryceleah05, Aug 2025
I thought the tour was two hours but was only 1:35/45 minutes. I also didn’t realize the tour didn’t allow us to see the liberty bell up/close. Our guide, PJ, was very nice but somewhat subdued.

Tour of Philadelphia

This is a walking tour and you will walk but there are enough stopping points to catch your breath. Plenty of historic sites and information.

Self Guided Tour!

Sandra_C, Jul 2025
This cost $24 for a self-guided tour - extremely disappointed at the cost! We were told to be at the "meeting place" at 2pm - then we were told this was a "self guided tour" and given 2 sheets of paper. There was a show included of less than 20 minutes - that was very interesting but for that amount of money? I felt ripped off!!

Response from Host, Jul 2025

Hi. This was not a self guided tour, it was a guided tour. You purchased a guided tour and did not arrive for the 2pm guided Constitutional Walking Tour that you purchased. At 2:02 pm, before the tour departed we texted you to see if you were coming for the tour, you did not respond. You called us 26 hours after the tour (after 4pm the following day) and it turns out you went inside the Constitution Center (we meet outside, not inside as our tickets/website/vouchers clearly state) and the guest services desk there thought you were there to tour their museum, gave you a wristband and essentially free tickets to tour their museum. The show you saw was from the museum and had nothing to do with us. When you called us 26 hours later you said you thought my text to you was an automated text so you didn't respond, and you did not attempt to call us at the time of the tour when you could not locate the guide or meeting location. So we did have a guided tour that did meet at the assigned location that day, we did attempt to reach out to you before the tour left, and the tour did depart at 2:05 pm with other tour guests. I am sorry you could not find us at the given location and as I mentioned when you called we would be happy to honor the tickets for you to return on a tour for any time you return to Philadelphia within 1 year.

Very knowledgeable guide

Great experience of the Constitutional history of Philly. Very knowledgeable guide. Learned so much and it kick-started my amazing first experience in Philadelphia.

Sheryl_N, Jul 2025
Bring water & walking shoes , great that it was a small group bc it would have been hard to hear if the group was longer

Absolutely amazing, fun, and educational.

Rowena_G, Jul 2025
This was our second tour experience, and once again, it was fantastic! Our tour guide was awesome—knowledgeable, engaging, and full of fascinating historical insights about Philadelphia. Both tours have been excellent and memorable. Highly recommended!

Train the Tour Guides

Joaquin_B, Jun 2025
Tour guide spoke like she was reading from a middle school text book. Just a few facts, no context, and left out a lot of information. Example: Ben Franklin buried in cemetery as well as 4 other founding fathers (who were the others?).

Response from Host, Jun 2025

Thanks for your feedback. The Constitutional is designed to provide a high level, broad-based overview of 20+ stops in 75 minutes. Therefore we cannot provide all of the information at all of the stops. It's a primary orientation to the area, and we encourage you to go back and visit some of the stops in more depth after the tour if you'd like to get more information as all of the sites are within a few blocks radius.

Nice short tour - good for kids and adults

Siobhan_L, Jun 2025
We had a lovely tour with Jon. He was very knowledgeable and provided a good mix of history and connection to the present. It’s a brisk tour so quick walk around to see the outside of various historical sites. You won’t get to go inside any of the sites. Book or plan those site visits separately. This was more of an express tour along the street to point out key sites. One bit of advice is for the tour guide: sometimes it was hard to hear him over the din of traffic, wind, etc. He also spoke a bit fast so I was not always able to hear him. What I could hear was very informative and interesting. It’s just that sometimes he spoke quickly and I couldn’t hear. That would be my only advice. Thanks for the tour and great memories!

Response from Host, Jun 2025

So glad you enjoyed your tour. As you said it is meant to be an orientation to the area and the sites so that you can discover what interests you and go back and visit some of the sites in more depth after if you'd like! Hope to see you on another visit.

A great time!

Kirsten_L, Jun 2025
Connor was a great tour guide. Very knowledgable and charismatic! We had a truly wonderful time on the tour.

Response from Host, Jun 2025

So glad you enjoyed the tour with Connor! Thanks for the positive feedback!

Walk in History

Richard_j, Jun 2025
Viv was an excellent guide. Definitely worth the walk. Great for people who do not know the historical parts of Philadelphia. The tour covers every location and the guide was very knowledgeable about each stop

Response from Host, Jun 2025

Glad you enjoyed your historic walking tour and found the tour guide knowledgeable! Thanks for the review!

Misleading

Brian_P, May 2025
It did not include the Liberty Bell or Independence Hall as was described on the website. It is misleading.

Response from Host, May 2025

Thanks for your comment. There is nothing misleading on our website. The website is very clear that we are an outdoor walking tour, that we stop outside the sites, and the tour is meant to be a high level overview and orientation to the area, and that we suggest that after the tour you go back and visit the inside of the sites that interest you. Given that both the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall have security screenings that can take up to 30 minutes waiting in line for each, and that Independence Hall is only accessible with timed tickets arranged in advance, it is not possible to visit the inside of either or both sites on a 75 minute tour. We do however offer private/VIP tours by advance arrangement that can take you into the sites. Thanks again for reaching out with the feedback.

Informative and fair

Joseph_L, May 2025
Tour guide was so knowledgeable and engaging. There was so much to see in such a short period. Wish it could be longer but I certainly felt like it was a good value for the price.

Response from Host, May 2025

thanks so much for the feedback, we are glad you enjoyed your tour!

Walking Tour

Susan_C, May 2025
Tour was good but don’t be misled. You don’t go inside any of the buildings. He was knowledgeable but thought we could go inside some of the areas.

Response from Host, May 2025

Thanks for your review. We are clear in our marketing materials that this is an outdoor tour, meant to be an overview, and then we suggest you go back and visit some of the sites in more depth if you'd like after the tour.

Will showed us the old...

DALE_H, May 2025
Will showed us the old Philadelphia, we just walked past some of the sites, but went back later to check them out in more in depth. Overall, was fairly informative, but should have picked a longer tour

Response from Host, May 2025

Thanks for your feedback. You did exactly as we suggest, visiting some sites in more depth after the tour, as the tour is meant to be a high level orientation and overview. We do offer private tours that go in more depth if you are interested for future reference. Glad you enjoyed the tour with Will.
