Hop On Hop Off’s are always the best way to see a city that you have never been to. Our tour guide was good, but we didn’t care for his take on tipping. “Every little bit helps me get
Through the winter months when these tours don’t run.”

Great guide. I forgot his name. He used to work for Drexel university. He was clear and knowledgeable. Wonderful that it was a person not the normal headphones offered on these type of bus tours. Great route after a morning walking tour. Busses came on time and I liked the fact that you requested a stop if you wanted to get off rather than the bus stopping when it wasn’t needed.

Tour route was great, tour guides were amazing - can’t remember their names, but they were friendly, professional, super knowledgeable and made the whole tour

Very interesting and informative . Easy to navigate. Our narrator was a very amusing lady and very friendly. She also helped me find my way back to my hotel

Great way to see the city without the driving and walking. Gives you options on where you really want to spend your time.

The tour can be hit or miss depending on your tour guide. The first bus we were on, sorry to say, had a dreadful tour guide. However, the tour guide we had after hopping on another bus was amazing! She was very knowledgeable, sociable, and slightly humorous. There was some confusion on how the "hop on, hop off" process worked, so there was about 40 minutes where I was on-foot trying to find another bus. However, a phone call to the company helped clear things up. Overall, I would rate it 4.5 stars if I could. It wasn't the PERFECT experience, but it was absolutely a great one.

The interior of the red busses were difficult to see out of. The drivers went so fast it was easy to miss things. Hard to stop and see all things in one day. Drivers don’t always stop at each stop. The older gentleman was a good tour guide. Didn’t talk so fast it was hard to make out. Noisy at back of bus couldn’t hear guide.

Had a blast. The guide tour very knowledgeable and answered any questions we had. He even joked with us and was very upbeat for a freezing morning

It is what it says….goes to all of the key sites. Tour guides vary, one was way corny, the other very informative

Loved the fun narrating by our tour guide. Drive was smooth on the bus. Would recommend or book it again.

The Big Bus took us to all the stops we wanted to see. Drivers and Narrators were great. The buses we’re also on time

Difficult to navigate what bus & where. We did a lot of extra walking after purchasing tickets. Almost missed, by the time we found the right place we couldn’t get off or look around anywhere. Tour guide was knowledgeable and bus driver, Tom, was super friendly. If you are ‘more’ mobile, you probably will not be as frustrated as I was trying to walk around to find them. There are diff companies; they work together but ticket redemption needs to happen at the right place. Overall, it was a decent value, just frustrating.

I was a little concerned by some of the reviews, but booked anyways, and I’m so glad I did! Our guides were terrific, the buses were comfortable and we learned so much about the city. I’ve been to Philadelphia a number of times for work, but the tour exposed me to lots of sights that I was unaware of. There was a man on the bus that needed the translation audio and that wasn’t working properly. He got frustrated and left the tour. So, scan the reviews if you aren’t English speaking so you can see if that’s a common issue. Otherwise, I highly recommend the tour!

We really enjoyed this tour. It was fun, interesting and educational. Our guide was great-knowledgeable and entertaining. A great way to see the sights of the city.

I did not know that BF had his own school or museum (whatever that was we passed by with his big picture in front) and I didn't realized how much he inititated int he city of Philadelphia!! It was great, I just wish that the hostess talking was a little louder or the mic a little louder.

Nice weather for upper deck. Minimal history of city or sights. Overly Afrocentric descriptions of city. Guide seemed hell bent on making us feel bad about our history

I enjoyed the narrator very much. He was very knowledgeable and added humor effectively. The guided tour was about 1-1/2 hours long, and this was the right length. The only change I would suggest was following the stop points in map order. This wasn't always done.

Really great way to get around the city and learn some of the history. The tour guides were all great and entertaining. Only downside was one of the drivers who was rude to my son, but luckily we had limited interaction with him.
Patricia_D, Jul 2024
Very informative and fun. Guide was knowledgeable and so much information to absorb. Didn’t realize all the history in Philadelphia!
Suzanne_B, Jun 2024
Our tour guide John was awesome. Had a dry humor and keep you engaged. He gave many interesting facts about the city. He also reminded us always to duck if we had to to avoid the low hanging branches.

Ernest and his driver Shirley were Awesome!! Ernest was very knowledgeable of the history of Philadelphia and very entertaining.

We purchased from Viator 4 tickets for the downtown Philadelphia, Hop-on Hop-off bus. The Viator site said we could buy our tickets on-line and board the bus at any one of the about 22 stops in downtown Philadelphia. In fact, the first time we tried to board a 2 decker bus at stop 6, the driver refused to allow us on the bus. We were told that we had to secure paper tickets at “Stop #1.” We took an Uber to stop #1, where we waited 10 minutes after we received a paper ticket. It took almost 50 minutes to buy tickets and get onto a bus. Never again. That said the tour guide knew Philly inside and out. We were thrilled by all we learned.

Getting off at the museum & having Italian Ice.
It was very informative. Loved the architecture.
Guide was very good & friendly.

Paying 100% more to book using viator instead of buying tickets from a streetside kiosk. Total ripoff. We had five different tour guides and none of them had any charm or personableness guides need to keep mic out of wind when talking and talk slower and more succinctly

Best part was the stop at the Reading Terminal Market... you need to eat and experience all the food that are available there...

We had 8 people on our party, including a 7 and 9 year old. We all enjoyed and learned a lot from the narration. The staff both on and off the bus was helpful and kind. We took advantage of the hop on, hop off feature, and this worked at most stops. However, we ended waiting 40 minutes at one stop and started walking the route. We ended up finding staff on route a few stops away and they updated us on when next bus would come. I’m wondering if lunch time affected what was supposed to be 25 minutes between buses. This extra waiting is the only thing preventing a 5 star rating, other than this frustrating wait, we had a great time, learned and saw a lot of Philadelphia history.

AWESOME experience, they even waited on me. The ride was so informative, they are really good at explaining things as we go by historic sites. I highly recommend this tour for your travel plans.

The tour was amazing and the staff was great. Due to construction, we were unable to go to the Riverside.

Uncle Bruce was very friendly and informative. We went exploring after the first revolution and ended at the Reading Terminal Street Market to hop on. Called and got instructions for hop on to Rodin. Then as we waited for LYFT to hotel, Brucie came by and made sure we didn’t a ride on the circuit again. Empressive!
