I travel frequently throughout Europe and the Americas, so I can usually assess a guide’s caliber within just a few minutes of meeting them. My husband and I also have very high standards when it comes to the quality and accuracy of the information we receive during tours.
We recently decided to explore Pennsylvania, and our first day was dedicated to Philadelphia. We booked a two-hour sightseeing tour of the city’s major landmarks, and we were incredibly fortunate to have Patrick as our guide.
From the very beginning, it was clear that we were in the hands of a true professional—a historian with an exceptional knowledge of Philadelphia and a genuine passion for its history. In just two hours, Patrick gave us a comprehensive understanding of the city, from its founding to the present day. He also delivered an outstanding mini-lecture on the history of the American colonies and their struggle for independence.

Our tour guide was friendly, engaging and obviously very enthusiastic about Philadelphia. I was hoping for more detailed historical information throughout the tour and more opportunities to visit certain sites listed in the description of the tour on the website. Our tour did last two hours but we missed certain sites that would have been interesting to my husband, myself and my grandchildren. I realize that its a very busy time in the city and some areas were crowded.

Even though our guide was very nice she had very limited knowledge of the area. This was a total rip off. I have used Viator extensively in the past with great success, I paid 260.00 for a two hour tour, I got an 1 hour and 45 minute tour that I had to help out with, a really bad experience.
