It was a good time. Very informative! The tour guides were good. Better than walking between stops. A lot of things to see and do.

This is an absolute must if you want to get to know Philadelphia and where all the landmarks are. We stayed on the bus for the whole loop to see where everything was and then used it over the couple of days for the hop on/off experience and to get to those landmarks that were a bit long for a walk. Thoroughly enjoyed our experience and would recommend.

Hop on hop off was very accommodating. We used it at an unusual being 4th of July weekend. One day, July 3rd, was canceled due to a 5 hour parade that would have blocked most of the route. On the 4th a few stops were still unavailable due to celebrations and the FIFA world cup crowd. The busses stopped as close as they were able and gave walking directions. Overall, we were very happy overall with our experience.

Sharlee_B, Jul 2026
Viator did not communicate with us. We did not take this tour...the Hop On/Hop Off notified us that they would be CLOSED on July 3rd. I expect A FULL REGUND!

Patrice_S, Jul 2026
Warning that getting on and off the bus is challenging to those of us over a certain age. But the experience was fabulous and fun! Driver was very skilled on the narrow city streets and our tour guide was awesome! She was fun and knowledgeable!

Pay attention to which map you’re using!

Amanda_W, Jul 2026
I love that multiple companies allow you to use one ticket for any of their buses, but beware that stops may vary from tour to tour. For example, we were looking for stop 17, but when we got there, it was also stop 20 for another company.

Could have been better.

Amy_P, Jul 2026
The buses were over crowded. The bus we got on had no guide and we sat for almost 30 mins to get a guide. The sound was unintelligible. Then we got off in Chinatown had a delicious meal and we stood outside in 101° temps waiting for 40 mins for another pick up. We actually had to Uber back to parking garage since neither bus was showing up at 239pm at stop # 5.

I would say the commentator was ok but not as good as past tours I have been on. She was very hot and didn’t say much…

Unreliable yesterday

We waited an hour for a pick up after hopping off in 98 degree weather. Finally gave up and took Lyft. Very disappointing

Good way to get a feel of a new city. Recommend doing near the beginning of the trip so you can get an understanding of Philadelphia if new to the city. We stayed on the bus so we did not get a feel of hoping on and off.

Wasn't a Hop On Hop Off Experience

Sue_S, Jun 2026
My friends and I rode the first 9:30 AM bus starting from stop #1. Maria and Tom did a great job. We got off for lunch and waited about 20 minutes at stop #17 before we saw a bus coming. Three of us were standing under the sign, I waved, and I thought I made eye contact with the bus driver, but he passed us by. Rather than waiting another 20+ minutes for the next bus and possibly having the same experience, we walked back to stop #1 and didn't have enough time in our schedule to risk riding the bus again. The tour started off well, but I was disappointed it wasn't the hop on hop off experience we wanted.

Charles_H, Jun 2026
The fact that my ticket covered two tour bus companies was not obvious when I purchased the ticket. Recommend you clarify this fact in your advertising.

Amazing Tour Guides!!!

Melissa_U, Jun 2026
We were in Philly the weekend before 4th of July for a World Cup Game. We were able to use both the Philly Sightseeing AND Big Bus tours. About 25-minutes between the two for pickups. The best was both tours had AMAZING Tour Guides!!! Not the recorded loop we've gotten on other tours. Each guide had slightly different details and highlights they pointed out - very well spoken, witty, and full of details. They truly made the tour!

Seats are not made for larger people. Otherwise great tour with Arial!! She is the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

City tour was great. Viator app needs to be a little adjusted to reflect being able to get your ticket at any time.

James_O, Jun 2026
This tour was city Philly hop on hop off bus tour, which was awesome. The people at city tours were extremely helpful and gave us a lot of information. One of the things we found out that we weren’t aware of was that we were able to go on a different day than the day we had picked the actual ticket is good for one year from when you purchase it that was not indicator in Viator as we found out when we went two days later and the Viator app had acted as if we had already done the tour, so make sure you save the email. That was the only way we were able to access our tickets via tour needs to look into that the other great thing about city tour Valley is that you can also go on the big bus if you need to they share ticketing and the other really good thing is that if you are staying in a hotel in the city center, which we are, they will come and pick you up in Shuttle to drive you to the first stop which is near independence. Hall area would’ve been a pretty long walk or a rideshare car so very, very nice and convenient we were able to call them this morning that we were going and they showed up right on time.

Hop on hop off is an easy way to see and get around the city, frequent busses and friendly guides made for a good experience .

Great tour, worth the money!

Cheryl_M, Jun 2026
Great tour with a lot of informational history of Philadelphia. Our tour guide was entertaining, made funny Dad-jokes and made it fun! We learned a lot in less than 1-1/2 hours.

Watch Out

Jody_Z, Jun 2026
The tour was very good and informative. We went past all of the pertinent areas I was hoping we would. The guide was entertaining in addition and knew the history of the area. The downfall of the tour was due to the fact we were on top of the bus there were many branches we had to duck from, which could have been dangerous if we were not paying attention. Because there were so many it was a little distracting. It was not the fault of the tour company, but of the city maintenance. The tour company did there best to protect us from getting hit by the low hanging branches. Otherwise I would probably have given it a 5 star.

Fantastic City Overview!

Joni_C, Jun 2026
The hop on/off bus is a great way to get an overview of a city, its history and its points of interest. The option to get on and off in your desired areas was very convenient. I highly recommend at least 2 days, if possible.

Tour guide and driver were great. Tour guide was knowledgeable and entertaining. Being on the upper level required some ducking to avoid low hanging branches and wires. Price was bit high for what was experienced…

Not worth the expense. Disorganized company. Seldom stop at stops. Poor shape equipment, no ac in lower decks.

Had a good time and enjoyed the tours. Waited a lil longer than 30 min at one point. Overall it was worth the price and enjoyable and informative.

Get a good Tour Guide!

BEKAH_B, Jun 2026
This all depends on who your driver and tour guide are. We were on 3 different busses through the course of the day. The first pair we had were phenomenal. They knew so much and gave so many intricate details about the city and sights you wouldn't have otherwise known. We had to hop off at the next stop and regret doing so. The second set was fairly good, but the tour guide thought he was a comedian and he was not. He did teach us a few things though. The last pair (and that was our longest one...stop 12 through the end), were not good at all. The driver would stay stationary through 3 light cycles getting honked at while we baked in the sun. The tour guide would say, "I have no clue why we are still standing.. again." The tour guide, again, thought he was a comedian, and it was both inappropriate and annoying while my young children were on board. He did not tell us anything you can't read on a sign. We would pass a sight and he would say the fact on repeat, "This is the first hospital in the country. Guys, this was the very first hospital in the whole country. Guys, on your left, this hospital was first." It was not impressionable. He was a Big Bus tour guide though, not the red city bus.

Terrific tour!

Antoinette_D, Jun 2026
While we had to wait for a bit for the da/ first tour because they did not have their tech ready, we boarded a brown Big Bus tour. So glad we did because our tour guide, Mike, was terrific! His knowledge about the history of Philly was great but his insight into architecture and subtle nuggets of information was excellent. Thank you Mike and driver Tom!👍🏻

Good tour, we'll worth the price, guides were great. Glad we went on the bus. Tons of stuff to see. 👍

Great intro to City

Michael_B, Jun 2026
Great way to introduce yourself to the City. Guide was the best and could hear him clearly up on top. Can use the red or black busses. Would highly recommend.
