The bus was an hour late which impacted our plans for the day.
The bus was so cold no one could enjoy anything and the tour operator missed key buildings to tell us about.
I can't find how to file a complaint she spent most of the tour texting on her phone. I had extremely high hopes about this tour and it was horrible
Tea Around Town is a lovely 1-hour tour of mid-town Manhattan's historical buildings, such as St. Peter's Cathedral, the Chrysler Building, and Central Park.
This was my second tour. I surprised my 'Big Sis'I for her birthday. I must say that there was a difference between attending on a Monday (not as much energy, not as much tea). However, I would do the tour again in the future so that other friends & family could experience the tea, fascinator, finger, sandwiches, and live music.
Our tickets said 1:30 PM when there was no bus at that time so we commuted to New York to be told that there was only a 12 o’clock bus a waste of money to get into the city to have no experience terrible if I could give it a zero I would
No show by bus … waited 20 mins before confirmed no booking despite having paid and having written confirmation.
Viator sold tickets for a tour that wasn’t even operating. We received no cancellation notice, and only found out after arriving that the tour only runs on weekends. Selling tickets for a tour that doesn’t operate on the scheduled date is completely unacceptable.
The Bus was very nicely decorated and the tea itself was ok. However the Bus broke down and they just asked us to leave the bus. No explanation and another bus did not pick us up. I called Viator and they were wonderful. They gave me a full refund. They are a good company. The Tea experience itself was disorganized and not great.
Be on TIME to avoid rushing at the last moment
Give yourself extra time especially, if walking slow .
the food & service was excellent , A plus .
They even gave you take away boxes for the remnant food ,should you want a doggie bag !
Would Heartly recommend ,even for a New Yorker like me !

Operator on call was not cooperative and also communication over the chat was not responsive. Even though I called multiple times saying we might be couple of minutes late due to rain and traffic in NYC. The operator and the driver of the bus didn’t open the doors
Expensive for what is was. The staff was great and worked hard but otherwise a waste of money. Cute idea, executed poorly.
This experience was part of my 57th birthday celebration. The food was amazing! The atmosphere was so relaxing. The decor was super cute. The staff were friendly.
Slow paced, a variety of hot teas, ample tea sandwiches and desserts. Entertaining guide- a singer on broadway. Comfortable bus!
My daughter and I took the Tea Around Town tour. It was very nice. The bus is lovely, as are the hosts, the guide and the server. We didn’t see anything amazing or learn anything earth shattering, but it was a lovely little tour.
We arrived at 2:15 for the 90 minute tour starting at 2:30 as instructed but there was no bus. At 3:00 we received a text they were delayed and would update us. At 3:40 we received another text that they were delayed due to a protest march and would update us. We left at 4:00 (when the tour was scheduled to end). At 4:40 we received another text that our bus had arrived. I have sent several messages asking for a refund with no response. While the protest was something out of their control, it was not spontaneous. They could have reached out and offered to reschedule. We were really looking forward to this and would have gladly rescheduled instead of standing in the cold for almost 2 hours.
Awful, from start to finish. Nothing that was advertised was delivered, customer services had zero interest in helping, presumably once they’d taken the money they didn’t care how poor the trip was. It was the worst trip I have been on, and the ticket company and Viator are both as bad in not resolving the issue. The ticket company ignored all the emails, Viator have been equally unhelpful.
The trip promised a tour of famous landmarks, we didn’t see any. We were told the bus was driving an “alternative route” because of the parade, so we just drove around some random streets that didn’t show any famous sights at all. The company knew it was the day of the parade when they took £200 from me, but failed to notify me that we wouldn’t see any landmarks on the tour. The food was terrible, it was dry and inedible. We left most of it, as did most of people on board. The trip advertises entertainment on board, there was none at all, no commentary on where we were passing, probably because there were no famous sites or landmarks on the route we took. There was nothing in terms of entertainment. The bus was freezing cold and we had to sit in our coats to stay warm. The trip describes choice of three teas from a list, we received no choice, and literally about an inch in the bottom of a cup for each tea. The server said the tea provided was just a “sample”. From beginning to end this trip totally failed to deliver anything that was promised. The customer service had no interest in resolving anything. It’s questionable how legally and morally a company can charge £200 for a list of items it completely fails to deliver, and then fail to respond to any emails requesting resolution/credit. The pick up point changed three times and in total we were waiting an hour in the cold to finally start the tour, if I had known how bad it was going to be, I wouldn’t have bothered waiting. My advice is to save your money and book with someone reputable and professional, who will actually deliver what they promise.
We thought this was a good idea for something different to do in New York if you’ve been there a number of times already. The food on the tray was very good. It was cute to be able to sit at a little table on the bus and see the city from a different perspective. The only thing I would change is that the tea server did not come around often enough. Also, they could narrate a little more of what you’re seeing as you’re going along the streets. I know they have their standard things they point out, but there’s a lot more they could add to make it more interesting rather than to just point out a few buildings.
My reservation was never sent to Tea Around Town for our 1:30 trip. After some of us traveled from Philadelphia and Atlantic City we ended up having to contact their customer service and had to wait for the 5:00pm.
I was surprised that hot tea is not available. Only cold flavored tea is served in a plastic tumbler. The finger sandwiches were OK and the scones were tiny. The best part was the fun with my friends. I felt like I got dressed up and wore a hat for nothing and did not enjoy it enough to go again. If you really want a great tea time select a tea-time someplace not on a bus. The tour itself was just OK. Better to do a tour of Midtown New York without the cold tea.

We had a scheduled event with T-AroundTown that was prepaid for 3:30 p.m. Unfortunately, at 2:22 p.m. we were notified that the tour bus would be delayed by an hour. This caused major inconvenience and additional costs, as we had a 6:00 p.m. event we needed to get to, and we had to arrange separate transportation to stay on schedule.
When we finally boarded, things only got worse. The food was hard, unappetizing, and poorly presented—as if it was just thrown together. Much of it was inedible and left untouched. The bus itself lacked cup holders, and we were advised to place hot tea cups directly on moving tables, which posed a clear risk of spills. The tea service, which was advertised as a main feature, was minimal at best. Honestly, this should be called “A Spot of Tea Around Town” because that’s about all you get.
The overall appearance and execution of the experience did not match what was presented on the website. We were highly disappointed with the lack of professionalism, the poor food quality, and the disregard for customer safety and time.
This was not worth the money, nor the stress it caused. A refund should be issued, not only for the inadequate experience but also for the additional transportation costs we incurred.
⭐ 1 star — We will not be recommending this experience and strongly suggest others reconsider before booking.

The food was dreadful, tea cheap ,the microphone wasn’t working so the poor individual who was singing couldn’t be heard , some loud banging coming from downstairs constantly , and the roads (not your fault ) bumpy so we wobbled all over the place .

Such a fun experience and unique way to see the city! Highly recommend!!! The staff were so friendly and the atmosphere, tea and food was amazing!

Stale sandwiches, rock cakes- not scones and no milk for the tea
