The cruise is approximately one hour long. You will also have some free time to explore the exhibits, including large & baby alligators and a wide variety of bird and other wildlife.

Will I see other wildlife besides alligators?

Absolutely! The Everglades are beautiful, with exotic birds, plants, and animals everywhere; so you never know what you will encounter!

How safe is the Everglades Airboat ride?

All airboat captains are certified by the U.S. Coast Guard and exceptionally skilled in navigating the designated routes. The airboats have comfortable seating and are very safe.

Will I get wet during the Airboat ride?

There is minimal splashing on an airboat, so you will only get wet if you visit on a rainy day!

Is covered seating available during the Airboat ride?

In order to maximize the view, all airboats have open-air seating. This is the best way to truly experience the majesty of Everglades National Park while traversing the pristine waters and exploring the unique ecosphere so many wonderful plants and animals call home.

How fast does the airboat go?

Airboats can be very fast, with some modified boats reaching speeds in excess of 130 mph, however, you will not exceed speeds of 35 to 40 mph while visiting the Everglades.

How strenuous is the Adventure Hike?

It is a very easy walk, and you will take your time in order to locate and enjoy viewing the local wildlife!

Be sure to bring a valid, Gov't-issued ID and a camera. A hat, sunglasses and a light jacket are recommended. Sunscreen, insect repellant and ponchos are available for use when necessary. Also be sure to bring a change of shoes and pants for after the wet walk.

How should I dress for the Biologist Led WET walk & 2 boat trips?

From April through early November, it can get pretty hot out there! So, just dress comfortably. Shorts and a T-shirt are usually fine. In the winter it can be warm too, but it can also get chilly out there sometimes, and you will be out on two different boat trips, for a total of 2.5 hours. So, if it is a chilly day, bring a sweater or light jacket!

Zac was absolutely amazing with his knowledge and obvious love for nature. He was a fountain of information and his energy was contagious. We enjoyed two boat rides exploring different areas, a great lunch and an interesting wet (not really) walk. Saw a lot of wildlife (dolphins, rays, turtle, spoonbills, herons, raptors, gators, and so much more!) and some incredible flora. We had a different driver on the way back (Ryan) who was equally amazing with his knowledge and love of the area. Would definitely recommend this tour.

All day unique and comprehensive eocological adventure in the Everglades

Ryan was our tour guide and he was fantastic - professional, funny and amazingly knowledgable about the geology, history, biology and ecology of the Everglades. The tour is packed with info from the beginning to the end and is top-notch all the way through. Even lunch was delicious and at a restaurant on the water. We loved every minute of it and learned so much. Our wet walk was truly wet and we were hiking up to our hips in water so be prepared - but the vendor provides wet shoes if you do not bring your own and there is a place to rinse off and change if needed. The airboat ride was interesting view of the grasslands and the boat tour of the 10,000 islands area was given by a local who knew the area so well. All day was handled professionally and with humor and was the most enjoyable day we have spent in south Florida this trip. Definitely do this tour if you want to actually get to know the diverse ecosystems of the Everglades area.

Excellent Everglade Experience

My husband and I signed up for the full day package. Excellent experience on the air boat tour looking for the alligators and finding many along the ride with turtles (if you look hard) and lots of native birds for your viewing pleasure. The afternoon passenger boat ride equally as wonderful locating the dolphins and filming them riding our motor’s waves. Also lucky to see a group of the large white pelicans and the sometimes hard to find roseate spoonbill; a real treat. The wet walk was the only disappointing part of the full day tour. Just too muddy a trail and hard to maneuver without getting stuck or falling in (for a few) consider yourself warned. Would do a dry walk next time. The lunch and snacks/drinks provided were very good. Tour guides were fantastic and knowledgeable. A few stops along the way offer extra restrooms, gift shops and museum access for a quick peek. We also appreciate the shuttle pick up service and access to water shoes and walking poles but would recommend bringing your own water footwear for comfort and appropriate size. Proper Water shoes work best not sandal type for the wet walk. Thanks so much Wild Lime Adventures for a wonderful (bucket list) trip we will never forget.

My girlfriend and I booked this tour and due to dryness switched it to the regular Everglades Adventure. I put regular in quotes because this tour has been anything but regular. Ben was a terrific and knowledgable guide and the tour surpassed our expectations. Highlights were the boat tour in the Ten Thousand Islands region and the amazing wildlife we got to see up close. A lot of beautiful birds, alligators and even a dolphin were amongst our encounters. Lunch was also very delicious at this nice local cafe and most of all the tour was educational and fun and it was great getting to know our terrific and easy going tour guide. We would gladly choose Wild Lime Adventures again and highly recommend it to everybody visiting the area!
