A most memorable day trip!

My dad, sister, and I had a wonderful and memorable day with our guide, Sonia! We had a good amount of time in each location while our guide shared her expertise and history knowledge. The private tour allowed us to be comfortable with time - no rushing. We had lunch at an amazing place in Nazaré. The van was clean, comfortable. Sonia is so personable and easy going. I really enjoyed my conversations with her. I’m so happy we found her at “I Go Portugal.” I look forward to returning to Portugal with my family and would like to plan a personalized itinerary through her! Miguel, our guide was spectacular. He was very knowledgeable and passionate about our tour and the places that we visited. We started with a trip to Fatima, where we visited the shrine and on the way Miguel told us stories about the history of Fatima as well as what we would be seeing once there he took us on a tour of the shrine, as well as the other venues there in Fatima, including the burning of candles and a side exhibit showing a piece of the Berlin wall. our next stop was Batalha Monastery which was also very nice to see and had several alters set up for different manufacturers of the church. From there, we went to lunch and a wonderful restaurant near the beach in Nazare and had seafood rice, which was absolutely wonderful. After lunch, we went up to the top of the cliff and overlooked the area where they had the world‘s largest surfing wave at 100 feet. our last stop was Obidos which was an old village with a castle built around it, and we walked through the village. Overall, the trip was absolutely wonderful and perfect for us. We cannot commend Miguel enough as he was absolutely wonderful and was very very personable. We would recommend Miguel to anyone that would like to have an enjoyable and very knowledgeable guide for a tour. Miguel gets five stars plus from us and we will look forward to having him again on a future tour.

This was an amazing tour of several central locations in Portugal. Pedro M. was an amazing tour guide. His knowledge of history and architecture was comprehensive. It's a long tour but Pedro M. will design it around the main areas you'd like to see. Fatima was beautiful and inspirational. Batalha and it's amazing cathedral was worth seeing but we probably spent too much time there. I'd recommend going through it quickly so you have more time for Nazare and Obidos. Pedro M. took us to a wonderful and authentic lunch in the beautiful coastal town of Nazare. Wished we'd had more time to shop and walk through Obidos which was a beautiful and fascinating little town. This is an ambitious tour to do in a day but if you have a great guide and driver like Pedro M. time flies and you'll have some good memories to bring home.

We had a lovely day in Fatima. Our tour guide, Carlos, was very insistent that the tour could be whatever we wanted it to be. As we were on a cruise ship (with a tight deadline for departure) we wanted to maximize our time in Fatima. While we could have rushed to see some of the other stops, I’m glad that we chose to take our time and explore Fatima. We stayed for a Catholic mass, which was very important to us for this visit. Carlos was very considerate of my knee injury, and was very patient with me and my mobility issues. After Fátima, instead of rushing to another destination, we chose to go back to Lisbon for a local lunch and enjoyed the Portuguese cuisine. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to experience a unique private tour at your own pace!

Fatima, Nazare and Obidos all had their charm, with Fatima and Nazare the standouts. Anna did a wonderful job of getting us involved in each site. Our only complaint was the car was too small for a group of 4 plus guide/driver. I had specifically asked about a van and was told we would have one......but it was a much smaller car.

Had a fabulous time with Carlos. Loved the Bathala Monastery and Obidos - very atmospheric as night fell. No Biggest Wave In The World at Nazaré, but thems the breaks (or not). Pedro was outstanding. My husband uses a cane and he watch out for him and to det up and down entire trip. Much conversation. So enjoyable. Pedro went above and beyond to make this happen. The original driver was hit by someone who went though a red light and his car was wrecked. Pedro worked so we wouldn't have to cancel Just a beautiful day.

Going above and Beyond

Sonia was a fantastic tour guide for our family of 6. She was so full of great life advise and interesting stories! We started at 9:30 and saw Fatima, Nazare, and Obidos. We were supposed to end at roughly 6pm, but one of us got food poisoning (Just our luck) from our fantastic seafood lunch. She really went beyond by dropping us off at the Hospital, speaking to the staff in Portuguese to make sure we got the care we needed, and giving us her number in case we needed Anything. She became not just our tour guide, but our Angel that day.
