João was an excellent guide: knowledgeable, informative and answered our many history and cultural questions.
The pace was just right, not rushed and not too long in any places.
Suggest you consider the lunch with the guide. We ventured on our own as we wanted something light and the result was more than disappointing.
I highly recommend this tour.

This is a must for people who are interested in the Knights of Templar in Portugal. You will visit a beautiful fortress, see a church with hidden symbols, go to the town of Tomar and the highlight is the Convent. Anastacia is friendly, knowledgeable, and caring. She can answer all your questions and makes sure you are comfortable all day long. She knows where to stop for breaks and where to eat. The car is comfortable as well. This was the highlight of our trip.

Anastasia is an excellent guide and a nice individual. She is highly knowledgeable and enthusiastic about her subjects be it religious sites or forts. We felt enriched with knowledge spending time with her. She knew things by heart and never had to refer to her phone or any book. She was pleasant and was willing to accommodate our preferences for food and places. She is a first-rate guide, and we would recommend her highly without any reservation.
As for the trip by Viator, they continuously kept us informed of the progress at all stages. The trip is well designed with religious history and historical sites in focus.

We were in Lisbon for four days and in Paris four days and this was the best of all the tours! If you want to learn about the Knights Templars, their history and the myths that surround them, Joao will take you from fact to fiction and everything in between! He’s funny, intelligent and will keep you on your toes! Highly recommended!

Anastasia was the perfect guide. She was so informative not only about the locations and landmarks we visited but also about culture, food, traditions, geography, history of the area and beyond. She pointed out locations to make sure we see on our own and recommendations for tours we were booking with others. I felt like we were traveling with a friend. I highly recommend her.
I learned so much about the Templars and the order of the cross on this tour. Such an interesting and influential part of Portugal and European history. The monastery was incredible. Make sure to take this tour. You will not regret it.

This tour has a 100% satisfaction rate and I can see why! Anastasia was very knowledgeable and informative about the knights Templar as well as in the history of the region and Lisbon in general. She is an excellent tour guide and a very safe driver. She is always helpful and pleasant and went out of her way to make us feel comfortable and give us a great experience. I wish there was a rating above five stars, because this tour deserves it. She gave us amazing insights into all the places that we visited and it was obvious that she took her job very seriously and was prepared with a wealth of information. -Very relaxed pace and a chance to take many photos, stay longer in areas that we liked and no pressure at all to move along faster than we wanted. I would not hesitate to recommend this tour to anyone!

Upon researching which tours to book, this tour had a 100% satisfaction. Very pleased with the outcome. Our tour was with Anastácia. She was incredibly knowledgeable and informative. Anastácia went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and give us a great experience. I wish there was a rating above five stars, because this tour deserves it. Very much worth it. If you’re looking for tours to book, book this one or any other tours they offer. You’re getting quality service. Our last day in Portugal was with Anastácia and this tour. Our driver, John, was there on time to pick us up, and engaged us in lively conversation about the subject of the tour - The Knights Templar - and courted the idea of 'conspiracy theory or myth', of what the Holy Grail actually was. Is the Holy Grail a person or a thing - Hmmm? Who indeed was Mary Magdalene? Hs knowledge of the Templars was extensive and there was not much he did not have a response to in our questions.
He drove with confidence and got us to the various locations safely and on time.

-Tour was excellent (but long). Basically a full day lasting 8-9 hrs including the commute.
-Great value for the money.
-Anastasiya was fantastic. Very knowledgeable and well versed in the history of the region and Lisbon in general.
-She was always helpful, pleasant and willing to assist in any way.
-She gave us amazing insights into all the places that we visited and it was obvious that she took her job very seriously and was prepared with a wealth of information.
-Very relaxed pace and a chance to take many photos, stay longer in areas that we liked and no pressure at all to move along faster than we wanted.
-I would not hesitate to recommend this tour to anyone and will definitely do another tour with her should we return to Lisbon in the future.

Wonderful day with Joao exploring Templar history. He is so knowledgeable and wholeheartedly shares his knowledge with such enthusiasm. A well planned and organized trip. Joao was on time and flexible, paced the day comfortably so full but not rushed, and he was willing to drop me off in Belem for meeting up with friends after a full day, sharing pointers for where to dine and what to be sure not to miss there as well. My mother, my bestie and I went on a journey through Tomar, Portugal, guided by Joao, was an absolute delight that surpassed all expectations.
