Miguel made this so much more than a sightseeing trip. His deep knowledge of Portuguese history — especially the Templar roots at Convento de Cristo — turned every stop into a real story. Nazaré was stunning, and Óbidos charmed us completely. You can feel his genuine love for his country throughout the day. One of those rare tours you’ll still be talking about weeks later.

It was wonderful to see and hear of the history of the Templar Knights and the convent, to see where an 87 ft wave was to beat the record in surfing and to see a medieval town. Our guide Joao was truly wonderful. He was exemplary, with tremendous customer experience. You could not find a better guide.

Fantastic Knights Templar church visit.

I absolutely loved seeing Tomar and The Knights Templar church. I really appreciate architecture and beautiful buildings and the church did not disappoint. It really was stunning and being a circular church was different to anything I have ever seen before. Keith was able to share some really interesting information also. This is no criticism of Keith as we agreed to go to Nazare but if you have the opportunity to skip Nazare and go somewhere else instead I would recommend you do this, unless you are travelling at the time of year when you may see the big waves. Otherwise it is just another beach with a tiny town and in my opinion not worth the travel involved to go there and back. Finally we finished our day visiting Obidos, a medieval town. I was really looking forward to seeing Obidos as coming from New Zealand we do not have any history that is that old. I did enjoy it but do feel it is a bit over hyped. In summary the day was worth it for me being able to see the Knights Templar church alone. Thank you Keith for being a great guide and thank you for your patience and assisting my sister up all the stairs at the church and castle complex. She really appreciated it.

Knowledgeable and Personable Guides

We booked a private tour, which all things considered, was reasonable. Our two guides, Antonio and Keith were very knowledgeable about the history and interesting facts of the places we visited. We had ample time in each location to fully take in the sites. They were helpful in suggesting a lunch spot at Nazare where I had the best burger ever!! Due to the storms that devastated Portugal, a part of our tour had to be adjusted. Antonio contacted us well in advance with a fabulous alternative. The guys went above and beyond and took the time to make sure the tour was enjoyable. Cudos to Jump In Tours, I would definitely use them again.

This experience would have been great, if the castle was open and accessible. However, due to recent catastrophic storms, we were not able to see enter the Knights Templar castle or the alternative castle. But Keith was a knowledgeable and personable tour guide who did his best to make the most of the day. The tour operator refunded half of our purchase price because of the problems. Nazaré and Óbidos are both worth seeing.

Joao was an incredible Tour Guide! He is extremely knowledgeable about the History, Culture and culinary Heritage of the 3 cities we visited (Tomar, Nazare & Obidos). He is also extremely patient and flexible with the Tour group, thus you do not feel rushed at any time. This is one of the best tours we have ever been. The 3 Cities/Towns are absolutely breath taking. Highly recommended !

Exceptional tour guide and driver

Our group of six had an amazing tour with Gui. He is very knowledgeable, friendly, enthusiastic and all in all an excellent guide! He showed us amazing sites, gave us history lessons wherever we went. First to Templars castle where he told us interesting facts and stories that made the castle come alive for us. In Óbidos we had a quick lunch and wandered around the beautiful town. We met a wonderful lady selling nuts, they were delicious btw! He also took us on a walk on the castle wall…he’s fearless! We had such a great time with him and he’s a great driver too! Highly recommend him and we all think he should be a partner in the tour company! He represents them in such a way that we thought he did own the company! Such pride in his tours and the knowledge and passion he shared really made the tour unforgettable! Thank You Gui for an amazing tour, we will book with you again whenever we make it back to Lisbon!

The Castle Tomar is spectacular, amazing original architecture and excellent restorations! Nazare is a nice beach town although its big wave reputation has ruined the “small fishing village” vibe. Obidos castle is charming, many shops selling unique wares. Our guide, João is incredibly knowledgeable not only about the destinations on this tour but also about Lisbon and the history of Portugal.

This was a private tour and we couldn't have had a better guide than Keith. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. The Templars Castle was excellent not what I was expecting. It was a treat to visit Nazare and the weather was sunny. The stroll through the lovely village of Obidos was a treat. This trip far exceeded our expectations and I would highly recommend it especially with Keith as a guide as he made it a special day

Every place we visited was spectacular! The travel time was long but it was compensated with a memorable experience. I did not expect Obidos to be such a charming place. I could stay there the whole day! Our guide, Gui, was fun to be with and gave us so many information about every places we visited. He was like a walking encyclopedia! We had a fabulous day tour with Joao, our tour guide. Unfortunately Templers Castle was closed the day we arrived so Joao made alternate plans for another castle and it worked out great!
