Humberto delivers a great tour around the streets of Lisbon. He has local knowledge, seems to know everyone we meet in the street and is very engaging. Good fun. Definitely recommend.

We highly recommend Humberto's Lisbon tour. His love and knowledge of his hometown shone through his explanations and stories. Not only did we learn a lot about Lisbon, we are sure that we would not have seen the same places had we gone on another tour.

We took this walking tour of Lisbon with Humberto as a family of four, including a 12- and 16-year-old. After already tackling Lisbon’s hills earlier in the day, there was some skepticism going in—but Humberto quickly won everyone over. He was engaging, funny, and shared Portugal’s history and context in a way that was easy to follow and interesting for all ages. What made the tour special was how personal it felt: Humberto connected with each of us and helped us experience Lisbon through the stories and lived perspective of a multi-generational native. His thoughtful recommendations and clear love for his city made it truly worth every step.

Knowledgeable, enthusiastic, chatty, and responsive to people's interests and questions, Humberto is a wonderful guide to the history and contemporary realities of Lisbon and Portugal, and to various sites in the city, both well-known and unknown. A great choice.

Great walking tour. We saw parts of Lisbon we would never have seen. It was more than history, it was local knowledge from a true local. Humberto is friendly, fun and generous, who also gave us extra tips and advice for our stay in Lisbon. Highly recommend his tour.

Lovely walking tour from a local perspective. We loved hearing about recent and not so recent history. Humberto is a natural! The neighborhoods were beautiful.

We had a wonderful time on this tour! 10/10 would recommend to anyone visiting Lisbon. We got to explore areas that are off the beaten path. If we ever visit again, we would love to do this again.

My friend and I decided to book a walking tour with Humberto because we wanted to see parts of the city off the beaten path, and Humberto delivered just that and more!
Humberto walked us through the most quaint and charming alleys and streets. Along the way, he shared stories about the city and its history. We enjoyed hearing about how the city transformed throughout the years, and the personal anecdotes from Humberto really helped us visualize the changes. The pace of the walk was very manageable for people of all ages, with lots of time to take photos and enjoy the scenery.
From his witty humour to his friendly personality, Humberto is an amazing guide to exploring the city.

Very informative. Guide very passionate about the history of Portugal and his city. Saw many sites I wouldn’t have seen on my own

This was a perfect first full day in town tour. Humberto was a great guide, who was not only grown up in the neighbourhood, but was also knowledgeable and passionate about his city and country’s history, and potential future. He even showed us his old schools and places from his growing up. In fact most of the tour was away from the everyday tourist track. Humberto was open to questions about anything and was completely engaging and about asking about us too and gave us a few tips to further enjoy his city.
I learnt a lot and it set up a nice foundation to explore further.
Obrigado Humberto.

Humberto is the perfect guide! He is fun, funny and kind soul. He grew up in the area so has personal stories and secret vistas to share. He gets to know each of us in the group as well, so we feel a connection to each other. I’ve been in many walking tours in various countries and Humberto stands out because of his enthusiasm and ‘Lisboalove’ of the history, poetry and culture of Portugal and the charming Lisbon neighborhoods we were able to explore. I wish I had more than two thumbs to give him a bigger thumbs up for his wonderful tour!

Humberto gives a very personal and individual tour. We were visiting non-mainstream places including very impressive view points. The historical context of places is explained very clearly so that you get a more holistic understanding.
Bonus: Humberto provides for local insider tipps e.g. where to have a proper sun set view in Lisbon.

It was an amazing experience to start our vacation in Lisbon. Our tour guide Humberto was knowledgeable, fun and friendly.
Good experience to get ideas and plan your days.

Excellent, informative, interesting, engaging, away from tourists and a secret, if you are good, you will get a cookie at the end, that being the Portugal style
Sam_F, Aug 2025
Humberto was the perfect tour guide and this was exactly the tour we were hoping for! He shared with us his passion for the history and the culture of Lisbon, as we walked through four vibrant neighborhoods. It felt like we were being given an insider’s taste of the city, the way a local friend might show guests around their favorite spots. Humberto answered our questions with impressive depth, and even gave some great recommendations for food and sightseeing after the tour. Highly recommended!

Had the most wonderful personal tour today with Humberto. Humberto’s tour included views for the best pictures and stories of places in Lisbon. Humberto was very passionate about his city. We had a great time!

Humberto is a very humble and curious guide who is passionate about his hometown and takes travelers off the beaten path into areas that only a lifelong resident would know well. Hearing him talk about the history of Lisbon and changes since the 70s and shift to democracy really helped me understand what the country has gone through, as opposed to the populist rhetoric that you read or hear about. From showing us how the locals decorate their patios on the public street with beautiful plants to some of the oldest churches, teaching us about the history of Camoes and famous poets, explaining why a housing crisis has nothing to do with foreigners to treating us to the best pastel da natas in the city, Humberto is a wonderful example of a global citizen keeping the group connected with personal stories and authentically interested in our background, reminding us why we travel and how our stories help connect us no matter where we come from. If you are looking to understand how the locals live and their connection to this city in a more personal intimate setting, you will love this tour!

Nothing better than getting to know the city through the eyes of local who is not only kind and knowledgeable, but also clearly loves his city. We 100% recommend this experience to everyone! We had a blast with Humberto love walk around Lisboa.

Humberto spoke extensively about the history of Portugal and the context that Lisbon exists within that history. It was a really interesting tour, with unique and memorable stops. It's a great introduction to Portuguese history with a friendly and knowledgeable guide!

Humberto is a great guide with fantastic humor! He showed us around in our second day in Lisbon and we could get to see places that we couldn’t find ourselves. He is great at storytelling and answered all the questions with great enthusiasm. You can also get a small surprise at the end of the tour, he is a generous man that loves his culture and shares it lovingly! Thank you Humberto!

A really lovely way to spend a few hours in Lisbon. There are no megaphones or gimmicky stops here. Instead it's a walk with a true local. Humberto is charming, friendly, and eager to share the real history of the city. It's like a walk with an old friend. We couldn't recommend it enough and would highly encourage everyone to join. This is for the real people who aren't generic tourists.
Yasmine_H, Jul 2025
Having grown up in Lisbon, Humberto has a deep understanding of the city's history and entertained us with many fascinating anecdotes. His knowledge is impressive, and he was able to answer all our questions across various topics. A truly insightful and enjoyable walk!

Humberto showed us so much I never would have found on my own, his passion is clear, and he is kind and open enough that when he mentions his evening plans, you want to join in! I’d recommend this to anyone looking to discover more or learn about Lisbon.
Melissa_S, Jun 2025
I would highly recommend this walking tour as an intro to Lisbon, taking you through the beautiful streets of Bairro Alto and key attractions in Chiado. Humberto is a lovely guide who made sure he engaged with each person on the tour and made them feel welcome.
Tessa_K, Jun 2025
Our tour with Humberto was the highlight of our very short time in Lisbon. He was kind, funny, and showed us parts of Lisbon we’d never have known to look out for ourselves. Most of the tour is quiet and away from the tourist traps, which means we’re getting to see hidden gems. He’s so knowledgeable about the city and the country’s history, and the insights he shared gave us a much better idea of what it’s like to actually live in Lisbon. I particularly appreciated that he tipped us off to going to the world’s oldest bookstore to pick up some of Camões’ translated poetry because we’d mentioned we love literature — just one of the many personal touches Humberto added to his tour. He’s a wonderful storyteller and walking with him felt like being shown a local friend’s favourite spots. Thank you for the wonderful morning Humberto! I can’t recommend this tour enough.
