Steady but unfunny jokes, no real information. Interesting to go in and out of the water and some wildlife viewing yhen, but otherwise a waste of time and momey

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. We're glad to hear you enjoyed the unique amphibious experience and the opportunity to view local wildlife—those are highlights we’re proud to offer. That said, we’re sorry to hear that the rest of the tour didn’t meet your expectations. Our guides aim to blend humor, storytelling, and regional insight to create an entertaining and educational journey for all ages. While we understand humor is subjective, we take guest feedback seriously and are always working to refine our narration to better connect with our audience.

Great excusrion

Capt. Johnathan and Emma were great. Emma was the perfect blend of cheesy and knowledgeable. It was a rainy day for us which made the windows fog and difficult to see. But it was still worth it!

Unhappy Traveler

SANDEE_P, Aug 2025
I only put 1 star in order to give my review, otherwise I would have rated a 0. We arrived by cruise line and were shuffled to one area for the Duck Tours. There were no signs or Viator representatives around. I showed our reservation, which clearly said Viator on the paper, to approximately 7 people who all assured me were were waiting in the correct area. After being taken by shuttle to the tour, we were advised that we were supposed to take a different shuttle and they could not accommodate us. We were told we would get a full refund and were shuttled back to our ship. Viator said the reimbursement was sent to us on 7/18, but we have yet to receive it. There has been very poor service and response by Viator.

Response from Host, Sep 2025

We're sorry to hear you had logistic difficulties returning to the Ward Cove Cruise Ship Terminal. NCL offers their own shuttle service for guests arriving in Ward Cove which is beyond our control.

Duck Tour!!

Stephen_T, Jul 2025
It was fun and you get to splash into the harbor. What’s not to like about that? The tour leaders are seasonal workers but they love their work and try to give you the history and be entertaining at the same time. It’s a good mix and it worked when we took the tour. It was a little confusing finding the vehicle as there was more than one on the docks and the one we thought was ours drove away. I think we asked everyone and they were helpful. Keep in mind that the tour is nonrefundable once you’ve paid for it. Also, NCL moors outside of town and a shuttle is used to take you there and then you walk about 15” to the place where the Duck Tours take off. Make sure you have enough time for the shuttle as sometimes there are two NCL ships there for the shuttle. We left early (maybe 2 hours before the tour) and got to the dock in plenty of time. We had exceptional weather adding to the fun.

We are happy to hear that Vesna was a great guide- thanks for the review!

Not worth it

E_T, Jul 2025
Not worth the cost. Poor city and water tour. Inaccurate description. Most childish jokes. Perhaps best for those with young (under 10 years old) children.

Response from Host, Sep 2025

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. We're sorry to hear that your experience did not meet expectations. Our tour is designed to offer a lighthearted and family-friendly introduction to both the city of Ketchikan and its surrounding waters—combining unique sights, wildlife viewing, and narration with a sense of fun. Many guests with children or multigenerational families find it to be a highlight of their visit. That said, we understand that every traveler has different preferences. While some enjoy the playful humor and relaxed style, we recognize it's not a perfect fit for everyone. We are constantly refining our commentary and tour delivery based on guest feedback like yours, and we appreciate your input.

Difficult transportation for NCL

Dolores_S, Jul 2025
The tour was great. They took great care of my elderly parents. I wish there was more information about transportation from Ward Cove. We didn't find out we needed to pay for transportation until it was too late. The free shuttle worked but was a bit stressful. The tour itself was great!

A pleasant no stress duck tour !

Prudence_W, Jul 2025
A nice pleasant tour on land and sea with detail illustrations from the guide Angela and driver Captain Mike.

Duck the Ketchikan Duck Tour

John_W, Jul 2025
We discovered there is not much to see in Ketchikan. And the tour guide while nice and professional just did not have very good stories to tell. We were bored halfway through

Response from Host, Sep 2025

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We’re sorry to hear that the tour didn’t meet your expectations. Ketchikan is a small but vibrant community with a rich history, Native culture, and unique maritime character that we’re proud to showcase. While it may not be filled with towering landmarks, the charm of Ketchikan lies in its stories, people, and natural beauty—which our team works hard to bring to life for visitors from all walks of life. We’re glad to hear that your guide was professional and kind, and we appreciate your feedback about the storytelling. Our team continually reviews guest comments to help enhance and evolve our narration so that it resonates with a wide range of travelers.

Very fun tour

Susi_P, Jul 2025
Captain Jonathan and Andrea were kind and very entertaining. Loved hearing a lot about the history of Ketchikan and being in the water was fun.

good times

Marjorie_N, Jul 2025
our guide (Emma?) and Captain were informative and fun. I would have liked the tour to be longer. staff at the ticket booth were friendly and got us lined up and over to the craft in a orderly fashion. Captain stayed on top of safety issues for loading and unloading the very tall craft. would have liked the duck calls to be sold after the trip.

Kristen_L, Jul 2025
Fun land and sea tour of the port narrated by a local resident. Got to hear about the history of Ketchikan. And saw eagles once the tour hit the water. The Duck Boat vehicle kept us warm and dry with the roof and plexiglass walls.

Jonathan and Angel were very knowledgeable and personable. It was a short but well run excursion that picked up at cruise line and dropped back off there. Saw some eagles and learned about some good spots to visit.

Great experience with a friendly crew ( Keith and demon), so much fun and a lot of informations were given about the city

Darren_F, May 2025
It's was sooooo worth it! It was a blast! Captain Mike and Damon were fantastic, knowledgeable and funny. We got very lucky and saw a feeding frenzy of bald eagles that's apparently very rare in this area. We highly recommend this excursion.
