Overview
Head out on an epic adventure along one of the world's most magnificent coastlines. From your comfortable vantage point on a 37-foot (11 meter) Naiad Super Raft, enjoy spectacular views of the 17-mile-long Na Pali Coast State Wilderness Park. Explore sea caves and private beaches—accessible only by raft—and snap photos of majestic cathedrals (the cliffs that tower over Kalalau Valley). As you journey along the water, keep an eye out for the marine life that inhabits the area, including dolphins and whales. Each trip (weather permitting) includes time to take a dip and snorkel amongst tropical fish and sea turtles.

Begin your 4.5-hour tour at your guide's store/check-in location at Port Allen Small Boat Harbor. Your adventure begins with a cruise past the towns of Waimea and Kekaha on the west side of Kauai with views of the beautiful Wamiea Canyon.
Before long, the dramatic Na Pali sea cliffs come into view—the majority of the tour is spent within the 17 miles of natural perfection that is the Na Pali Coast State Wilderness Park. Here, you're likely to encounter playful Hawaiian spinner dolphins. Take in views of the 4,000-foot cliffs and snap photos as you pass by. Your 37-foot raft fits into the major sea caves along the coastline, including the famous Open Ceiling Cave.
Depending on weather conditions, each tour includes a snorkeling stop on the west or south side of Kauai. See a variety of different tropical fish and maybe even Hawaiian green sea turtles.

We have done multiple Na Pali tours. The boat is definitely more comfortable than zodiac raft and has the maneuverability to get into the sea caves.
I was disappointed on 2 things.
1. There was no commentary from Port Allen to Polihale. “This is where the tour begins” was the explanation despite a lot of scenery up to that point that had always had comments There was also very little mention of the geology, which I always find interesting
2. The bow of the boat tilts quite high when running at speed. This means that you can only see a more limited sightline, which I also found frustrating.
This is a great trip but it would have been good to know these things in advance
Incredible experience you must do while traveling to Kauai. Select the morning times because sun is more likely, clouds usually shadowing in the afternoon. We saw beautiful coastline, went through caves, saw massive pods of dolphins, snorkeled with fish and sea turtles. The captain kept of us safe and provided interesting facts (Landon) and his first mate (Mason) was so friendly taking care of everyone onboard. Please note, the waves in Hawaii are big and the boat moves fast, so prepare if you have motion sickness. I have motion sickness bad and took Dramamine + wore ms wrist bands and had zero issue. That said, about 25% of the boat were unprepared and got sick, but the crew took care of them with water, Gatorade, snacks, buckets etc. Additionally, come in a bathing suit and clothes you don’t mind getting wet, hats that strap down, luckily they give you a dry bag but phone protection is important. Understand what you sign up for and know your limits!! This was absolutely worth it, highlight of our trip.

It is a wild ride but very fun. Ryan has exceptional boating skills. I felt very confident with him driving the boat and he made it very exciting. The music was awesome. We saw lots of dolphins. We went through a cave that was gorgeous and we got wet under a waterfall. They get up close in personal to the coastline, Ryan and Jeff make a great team they make you feel very welcome and make sure that you’re comfortable with the whole trip. I highly recommend it for anyone who wants a little adventure.

This was hands down the highlight of our Kauai trip! We are SO glad we chose this excursion! From the moment we stepped on the boat, Captains Nono and Mason made us feel like we were out on the water with old friends. They were hilarious, kind, caring, and incredibly attentive, making sure everyone was comfortable, having fun, and feeling safe throughout the entire 5-hour adventure.
They shared so much fascinating history about the Na Pali Coast and the surrounding islands and areas, which made the incredible scenery even more meaningful. And the music?! 🎶 They kept the vibes going with an awesome playlist that had everyone smiling and enjoying the ride.
We loved that it was a smaller boat with only about 17 people because it made the whole experience feel so much more personal and relaxed. They provided water and light snacks, which were perfect for keeping us fueled along the way.
And one of our favorite moments was stopping to snorkel! 🐠🤿 While we were in the water exploring, Nono played the ukulele and sang for us from the boat. Seriously… how often do you get to snorkel in Kauai while listening to live ukulele music?! 🌺🎶 It was such a fun and magical touch that our family will never forget.
Between the breathtaking Na Pali Coast, the snorkeling, the history, the music, and especially Captains Nono and Mason, this excursion was everything we hoped for and more! If you're visiting Kauai, DO NOT skip this experience. We would absolutely do it again in a heartbeat! 💙🌴🌊

This was an amazing experience! We were not sure what to expect but the raft was large enough so people were not on top or each other but not so large that it felt like a cruise. The raft was fast over waves and comfortable to be on for a long duration (plus there was a toilet). On the 45 minute ride to the cliff we saw a pod of dolphins. The boat sat for awhile so we were able to taking in the beautiful Na Pali coast line. On the way back we went through a cave and finished off with snorkeling. We had a blast and were thankful there was music!

We had a great tour on the “super raft” with Ryan and Max! Ryan did an excellent job as captain navigating small spaces and rough waters and Max did a great job checking in on everyone!
Some things to note:
-We did the afternoon tour and didn’t see dolphins and had fairly rough water which seems typical for the afternoon. We were still able to go snorkeling and go into two sea caves (open air one and a lava tube).
-Very adrenaline filled! You go so fast but you will fill every slam of the boat on the swells. We sat in about the middle (4 rows back). They explained that sitting in the front you’ll feel it most vs the back the least
-The feel is more front and back vs. side to side which was actually better for my motion sickness, but there was someone who was quite sick on the tour but seem to be well attended to.
-We had 24 people on our tour (out of 28 seats on our boat). It was a nice size to be able to get individual photos and be able to have some room while snorkeling
-Size of the boat was nice to be able to get close to the cliffs, navigate under a waterfall (you will get soaked)!
-The super raft is super fun! The last 5 mins to the dock was so exhilarating and an unexpected highlight for both of us!

Captain Ryan and Max were excellent hosts. Max went around ensuring everyone felt okay. Definitely use motion sickness medicine before you leave. Sunblock and headache medicine would be helpful also. The views were stunning as described. Raft allows you to go into caves versus catamaran. Highly recommend if you are a family with teenagers and thrill seekers! Must do!

Great staff and the view on the cliffs is incredible!!! Not 5 stars cause I feel like even if the view is breathtaking, I’d expect a lil bit more for 235$, more snacks/drinks, maybe at least a small meal cause the tour went from 7:30 to noon- also, I liked to experience the speed of the raft but only for an hour- after almost 5h I was freezing cold, exhausted by holding myself so hard to not fall off the boat and my back hurt 😅

We understand your thoughts regarding the snacks and refreshments. Because our tours are ocean adventures, we provide lighter snacks and drinks, as heavier meals can be harder on the stomach in the conditions we often encounter.
Our super rafts feature individual forward-facing seats for every guest, but ocean conditions can sometimes make for a bumpy ride, and spending several hours on the water can be physically tiring. That's why we always recommend bringing a towel and light jacket, as the trip is long and guests can get cool from the wind and ocean spray.

Andrew and Max were excellent tour guides! They were friendly and funny and did a great job of showing us the coast. An extra special treat was the dolphins that showed up at the end. Apparently it's only around a 5% chance you see them in the afternoon.

My son and I booked the Na Pali Coast Super Raft Snorkel Adventure because we were hoping for a snorkeling-focused experience, which is honestly what the name of the tour implied to us.
Instead, we spent nearly five hours on a very rough, uncomfortable, and jolting raft ride with only one snorkeling stop that had very little to see beyond a few fish.
The biggest issue was the constant pounding and bouncing. We were seated toward the front, where the impact was especially noticeable. We were told there would be more motion there, but moving to the back wasn't really an option because several passengers were seasick and the smell was overwhelming. We essentially had to remain in our seats and endure the continuous jolting for hours.
Based on the website's repeated descriptions of the raft as comfortable, smooth, and stable, I was not prepared for how physically punishing the ride would be. I am in excellent shape and am an athlete, yet two days later, my back is still sore from the trip.
The Na Pali Coast is beautiful, and the crew was professional. However, if your primary goal is snorkeling or if you're expecting a comfortable boat ride, I would recommend looking at other options.

We do not claim that the entire 4.5-hour tour is a snorkeling adventure. Our tour takes guests up the Na Pali Coast while offering a snorkeling opportunity when ocean conditions allow.
In most cases, our super raft provides a much smoother and more comfortable ride than a typical zodiac-style raft. That said, sitting in the front does expose guests to more of the ocean's movement and bumpiness. Like any ocean activity, the combination of sea conditions, sun exposure, and time on the water can be physically demanding.
It's unfortunate to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations regarding both the snorkeling portion and the super raft ride. We appreciate your feedback and hope that on your next visit you are able to find an activity that is better suited to the experience you were looking for.
