Begin your backcountry treasure hunt with pickup from your Healy hotel or make your way to the Black Diamond Resort Co.
Listen to a safety briefing and orientation, then climb into your off-road Polaris Ranger vehicle with seat belts, a windshield, and cover. Set off to navigate the backcountry trails. Work together to find hidden views, quartz and granite rocks, coal and other clues. Along the way, take in spectacular scenery and learn about Alaskan culture, history, and traditions. Keep your eyes peeled for native wildlife.
Find the rustic pavilion in the woods where a full camp-style meal is waiting. Breakfast offers fresh baked biscuits and gravy, bacon, reindeer sausage, fruit, home style flapjacks, and scrambled eggs. Afternoon and evening tours feature ribs, chicken, steak, salmon, baked beans, and potato salad. Adult beverages available for purchase.
At the conclusion of your tour, return to Healy.

My husband and I booked this tour. They did not disappoint. We had the best tour guide Daniel. Working with Jonathan and Shane we had the ride of a lifetime… the food was delicious and the treasure was just there for the waiting. I would book again and I mean Daniel was the best.

Fun way to see the back country area if you never been ATVing. Lunch was great and a ton of food. Bring your appetite! The guides are great and really know their stuff.

We did the Black Diamond Treasure Hunt Excursion with Backcountry Dining and had an amazing experience! Our guide, Danny, was informative, funny, and incredibly kind throughout the entire excursion. He made the adventure both entertaining and educational. The food was absolutely delicious as well, which made the experience even better. Everything was well organized and enjoyable from start to finish. I highly recommend this excursion to anyone looking for a fun and memorable experience!

Jonathan was a fantastic tour guide! We had booked the side by side tour the day before and when we showed up there was a small mix up and we were placed in the wrong group. The staff instantly fixed it and made it right, and we even ended up getting a private tour! My best friend and I brought my two young kids (ages 5 & 7), and they had an absolute blast! The trails were so much fun and we felt like it was the perfect amount of time being out on the trails. The dinner that was included was delicious and such a great variety of things to eat/try! All staff were super kind and fun to chat with, highly recommend this company and group!

Great experience for a family. Ross took us on a tour of the area and gave us lots of information about the geography and history of the Healy Valley. The kids were all smiles as we whipped through the back country and kicked up some dirt and mud in the process. The food was delicious and there was more than enough to fill our bellies. The little treasure hunt at the end was perfect way for our kids to end their day.

Fun but fairly typical side by side excursion. However, the food was amazing and our guide, Naomi, did a great job. Was hoping for slightly better views and animal spottings but can’t always control Mother Nature.

Omg this excursion was so much fun! One of my daughter’s favorite and she’s 6yo! She had a blast riding around in the ATV our guide Ross was amazing! He knew the roads well and went fast just as my daughter requested ;) we had a blast on this one! And the dinner was delicious!

I will preface this with the fact that the Viator description is not what we got. However!! What we got was wonderful! We did not get our own ATV for the treasure hunt but rather had a Ranger with a driver. This wound up being amazing. Wyatt drove us to all the best spots, hit the best thrills, took us out and through water we couldn’t have done ourselves, all while we just sat back and enjoyed. This was much better than us having our own we had to navigate and we had a great time! Wyatt was so kind with our son when he started getting tired. This was so much fun and I’d highly recommend!

Had a memorable time riding through water and wild trails for hours. With no kids in our two groups, we were asked if we still wanted to do the treasure hunt which was geared towards them or to spend more time riding. Everyone opted for riding and we were laughing as we bumped along the trails. Spent time in several places to look for cool rocks and I have to determine if one I found has actual gold in it or just pyrite. It was our driver's first time solo and she drove a little slower than I would have. Doing so, we did get caught in the mud once and even the other driver couldn't get us out so I jammed some larger branches under the tires and got out and pushed us free with him hitting the gas. Was covered in mud from doing so, but just made it all the more of an immersive experience. The driver apologized a number of times until we convinced her that all was well and we were enjoying ourselves.

From the moment Igor picked us up from the hotel, we knew we were in for a fun night! Noah was our ATV guide and he was fantastic - tried so hard to find a moose for us to see! A great excursion to see the stunning area.. it was fantastic having a driver so we could enjoy the epic beauty! Food was hearty and it was nice to sit inside while eating. By the time we finished the entire experience, we felt like part of the Black Diamond family. Highly recommend!

Can’t do anything about the rain, however, our guides, Gavin and Jan made this experience one to remember. It was the greatest of fun, Jan and Gavin were knowledgeable and sooooo entertaining! The food was delicious, service was great. I am so happy we choose this tour. It will be hard to beat this excursion.

Had a blast on our treasure hunt adventure! Our guide Jack was awesome and made it super fun for our 11yo son and shared a lot of interesting facts and stories! Food was good too! Overall a great experience. Would highly recommend for families with kids.

Ad clearly describes getting your own atv and navigating the tour yourself. Part of our group got their own atv, the rest (us) were driven around by a tour guide operator in the back seat of an old worn out Ranger. When I asked why we couldn’t get our own atv like other parties in the group the tour guide said they didn’t have enough machines available. I then asked for individual atvs, as I saw a ton of them sitting and available, tour operator lied to us and said that four wheelers where prohibited on the trail. About half way into the trip two employees from the tour company pulled up on our group tour in four wheelers. Owner of this company shouldn’t be allowed to make deceptive claims like you get your own atv, or that you’re allowed to navigate anywhere as this was the equivalent of a golf cart transport down a gravel road. Very disappointed and will be posting more reviews on other platforms about the lack of transparency this group uses in their ads.

Evan and Owen were great guys! They were great with the grandchildren (11 &13) and good with the adults. We saw beautiful scenery while giving us a memorable ride! It was a perfect 3 generation excursion!
