The guide was knowledge and entertaining. The food at 49th State Brewery was very good. The trip on the bus is long so prepare for that.

Initial pickup and brief talk before the park bus was great, as was the info given after but little info was provided on the bus. We now understand that can’t be helped with current contracts but we had done the ride the day before and were looking forward to additional info.

We understand your disappointment about the lack of narration during the park bus portion of the tour. Unfortunately, the interpretation provided on those buses is outside of our control and depends on the National Park Service's operating procedures. We're happy Mike was able to share some additional information and help make your day more enjoyable.
It sounds like you ended your trip on a high note with a moose sighting and views of Denali in the sunshine, which is always a special way to wrap up a visit. Thank you again for choosing to tour with us, and we hope to welcome you back to Alaska someday.

Good experience if you dont want to plan everything and see Denali park in a day. Tour starts with pickup at the hotel in a private van, then head off to Denali depot where you are put on the bus to see the wilderness which is a 4.5 hour tour. It also ends with going to 49th state brewery where lunch is covered. Even if you get down and hike at any point during tour, they will pick you up. Goodie bag is provided with snacks and bottle of water included. Binoculars are provided for the tour. I enjoyed it overall

You're on a park tour bus, an old schoolbus at that, that does loops through the park. The bus driver provides little if any commentary about the park, the wildlife, etc. - this is simply a bus route. The only benefits are being picked up/ dropped off from your hotel, having the bus ticket bought for you and a basic lunch (no drinks) at some brewery. Not really worth the cost. Also the van driver doing pickup/dropoff, while very nice, would not stop talking. There was hardly a chance to ask a question unless he took a breath and you could sneak one in.

As outlined in our listing, Denali in a Day is a sightseeing package that includes transportation to and from your hotel, a visit to the Denali National Park Visitor Center, and passage on the Denali National Park East Fork Transit Bus for the park portion of the experience. This transit bus is operated independently inside the park, and unlike some guided tours, it is not marketed as a ranger-led or fully narrated wildlife tour.
Our goal with this package is to make visiting Denali National Park easier and more accessible by handling the logistics for guests — including transportation coordination, park bus tickets, snacks, water, and additional sightseeing stops throughout the day.
We’re sorry to hear that the style of communication from your driver was not the experience you were hoping for. This tour is nothing as expected. It is not private tour, someone will just take you to transit bus and put on park driven buses. Rather just park your car next to transit but station and do it yourself for $40 instead of $190 on this tour. Only good part of this tour is dinner provided was at good local brewery.

As described in our listing, this package includes hotel pickup and drop-off, transportation with our local team, stops at key points of interest in the Denali area, and tickets for the Denali National Park East Fork Transit Bus, which is operated inside the park and allows guests to experience Denali beyond mile 15 — something private vehicles cannot do.
Our goal with this package is to provide a convenient, full-day sightseeing experience by handling the logistics, transportation, park access, and additional local stops so guests can enjoy the day without having to coordinate everything themselves.

The drive to the end of where the vehicles are permitted was a little too long but we knew that. Not a whole lot of wildlife. Christine, was excellent and fun. Next time I would take the 4 -5 hour tour.

Because our Denali in a Day experience includes traveling as far as private vehicles are permitted inside Denali National Park, there is definitely a good amount of driving involved, and wildlife sightings can vary from day to day. We always hope nature decides to cooperate a little more!

Considering what we got, I feel it was on the expensive side.

It is a perfect tour if you have only one day. Denali is already magestic and wild, so if you can make it here, know that you will gain something rare! We were not very lucky with the mountain view as it was raining or snowing all the time, but rain brought plenty of animals to come close to the road, which was amazing! The Denali park services's bus drivers are extremely expert. Our bus driver Sandy was a pro. We never felt worried, even though we were travelling via one of the most dangerous roads in the world in such an extreme weather! I should also mention that The Denali Tour Company's driver/guide Mike was so Knowledgeable and caring! He literally told us that our priority is his priority! Whenever, wheraver, however long we wanted to stop for watching a Mousse or sheep, he was happy to do so. He took us to a historic place for lunch called 49th State Brewing company. The food, ambience, service - everything was excellent there! Overall, it was a five star experience.

Very disappointed. The “trip” was basically just pick up and drop off from Hotel to the park and to the visitor center. You could totally use the free Hotel Shuttle and the Park’s shuttle and tour services yourself. Which could save you $150! The tour description is very misleading unfortunately.

Our listing is clear about what’s included — reliable transportation to the park, visitor center, Glitter Gulch, and the brewpub. While some hotels may offer limited shuttle service to the park, many do not, and there is no public option to the brewery. That’s why we created this tour, to make it easy and stress-free for guests to enjoy these stops without needing their own vehicle.

We were disappointed because our bus tour to Denali park was cancelled and the bus returned due to unexpected snow storm. It was not the tour companies fault. Three star review is not about the tour company. Nathan was amazing and accommodated us after we were back to Bus Depot. We were told by the Park employees that we will get refund automatically but since we booked our trip through Viator, we would need to contact them. We are hoping that we will receive our refund soon.

Price Performance was not good; just driving us to the Bus Station in the Park, to the Restaurant, Visitor Center- there were only transfers and this for 200$ per person

Very deceiving. Although we saw lots of wildlife on the transit bus that took us through the park and our driver Kat was great we payed $400 to be picked up at hotel by a bus that could not go into park. We were never taken to the dog kennels which was on our itinerary. We could have left the visitors center by park bus for under $35 each. Paid a fortune for a partial trip. I have always had very good things to say about Viator, but this time really makes me think twice about using them again

We got to see some of the fun things in the area and do some shopping! It was nice to get a picture in front of the Denali sign because that is not something we would normally bother to do.

The bus picks you up from all local hotels/cabins in the Denali area. States is a Denali tour but it literally follows the free shuttle service route bringing you to the visitors center (free), kennel (free), shops (obviously free) and a pub (that isn’t covered). I am absolutely so confused as to how this was $100 pp when we saw absolutely nothing that isn’t included with every hotel shuttle. What is the point

The driver was great and very nice but he was over booked. This is not a tour it a pick up and drop off service. We were not aware of this when we booked the tour. Because of the over booking we had to wait each time for our pick up and did not get the opportunity to visit some of the things on the list. We were not interested in the brewery which was fine but would have liked to had to chance to go to the stores but felt like it was going to be a problem if we ask to stop to go to them.

We always offer to take everyone to each stop listed on our tour, so I'm not sure how your activity was different unless it was requested to be changed. For the private tours, we offer to take our clients to different areas based on their wishes, but the new activities will replace the pre-scheduled activities to maintain the correct timeline.
