It’s a must do if you are visiting Charleston. The company does a great job of taking care of their horses and their guides - specifically Miike - very knowledge and extremely entertaining. We could not stop laughing the entire time. My husband and I would recommend this tour to everyone and would do the tour again on our next visit to Charleston.
I give the tour A+.

I didn’t feel like it was really a haunted carriage ride. We just drove through the city and he told a couple stories but not what I was expecting.

Was a very nice, informative and relaxing experience. Our driver had lots of knowledge of the Charleston history which does cross over to the paranormal. My wife loved it and so did I.

We did the haunted tour with Big Mike as our guide and O’Malley our 4-legged leader. Big Mike had amazing ghost stories and knowledge, plus was hilarious! O’Malley was a super smart sweetheart. My favorite thing was the horses are well taken care of and loved on. Highly recommend!

Overall, the tour was good and we would do it again. The only reason we gave four instead of five stars has to do more with other passengers than the operator/guide. However, we feel that the guide should have stepped in to control the situation. The carriages have four rows that fit four people each. We were on the first row with another couple. The groups on the last two rows talked and joked around with each other incessantly throughout the tour, which was very distracting when we were trying to listen to the guide. I mean who books a ghost tour ride to no listen to the ghost stories?!?! We could tell the guide got annoyed too and he did try to talk over the disruptive guests but he never asked them to be quiet. Fortunately, from the front row we heard most of the stories but it was still distracting. Without other annoying passengers, it would have been an excellent tour.

This carriage experience was a very nice combination of Charleston history mixed with ghost stories. The driver did a great job of making it interesting for both the children and the adults on the tour. The length of the tour was just right. I also really liked how ethically they treat the horses. A very nice way to spend an evening in Charleston.

Big Mike was absolutely wonderful! Humorous and knowledgeable. He made me and my daughter laugh a lot, and also taught about the lovely horse O’Malley. Would highly recommend both him and this company for any tourists or locals!

The drivers need microphones. I missed about 40% of what was said. Our tour guide was trying to drive the horse & tell the stories. Between the traffic noises, sounds in the street and he kept turning around to drive the horse, it was difficult to follow what he was saying.
My ticket said 45min tour, it was barely 30.
The Barn is cute, well lit, staff is friendly & polite and the horses seemed well cared for.
The buggy was fine & I enjoyed seeing the sites.

I was excited for this $50 ghost tour carriage ride, but overall it felt underwhelming. The driver was friendly and very knowledgeable, and I enjoyed the bits of history and ghost stories they shared. Unfortunately, the actual ride itself was disappointing — we mostly just went around the block, and it didn’t feel like we got to see or experience much. For the price, I expected a longer route or more stops. 45 minutes for $50?
Not a terrible experience, but definitely not worth the cost.

We had an amazing time on our tour. Our guide, Kevin, was funny and personable, explained all of the historical facts and told great ghost stories of the haunted past of Charleston. When we made it back to the stable, we were able to pet the horse and take pictures with him. I would definitely use this company for another tour.

My husband, our dear friend, and I signed up for the haunted carriage ride, which was an intriguing and very informative experience. Our guide was Kevin and our horse was Moultrie, who were both amusing and amazing at helping us see this city and sights you do not normally see on foot. Our adventure started with a double rainbow, then the sunset gave us astonishing views of distant steeples and other places of historic interest. Our guide Kevin was a fantastic storyteller and made the whole experience personable, while Moultrie was a trooper with a great disposition, leaving us with a real appreciation for the fascinating aspects of this historic city. A must-do while here!

This was very fun!! Our driver Josh was a local who was experienced with horses and very knowledgeable about history!! They treat the horses very well and they are kept very well which is very important to me!! Great tour!!

The carriage tour was a beautiful way to explore the historic district—peaceful, scenic, and full of fascinating stories. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable, and the horses were clearly well cared for. The southern hospitality really stood out—warm, welcoming, and genuine, both the tour guide, staff and check in. A must-do experience if you're visiting!

Loved the experience! The horse drawn carriage in the evening was delightful, and our guide was a charismatic storyteller. The stories were just the right amount of spooky for our 10 & 13 year old children.

My family and I had a great time on the haunted tour last night. Fox’s storytelling was engaging and interesting, and we all enjoyed learning more about the dark history of Charleston (even our 6 year-old). Clint, the horse, was the goodest boy and we can tell these horses are well-cared for and enjoy what they do. We will definitely choose Palmetto Carriage if an opportunity like this comes up again.
