Brian was a fantastic guide! He is a local and was even a guide at the Massachusetts State House before joining this company. I really enjoyed learning about the Freedom Trail and the history of the pubs we visited. The only thing I would have loved was more variety in the ciders, but that's more on the pubs than the tour.

This tour was a lot of fun. Brooke was very knowledgeable and a lot of fun. Taverns were cool. Plenty to drink.
Thomas_D, Jul 2026
Brian the tour guide was phenomenal. Very knowledgeable of history and old pubs and beer. Very friendly. Length of tour was perfect as well. We felt like we saw a lot of places on our list.

Really great tour with wonderful guides! It truly is a great tour for those who love history, beer, or just having a great time in a historic city. My girlfriend (who doesn’t care for history nor beer) still enjoyed the tour and learned a lot of fun “trivia”. I think that the relaxed vibes of the tour was the most enjoyable part, no one takes themselves too serious and everyone has a great time trying new things. I would recommend this tour (and tour company) to anyone that asks!

It was a terrific way to learn about Boston history and enjoy local brews. It was amazing to find so much history in such close proximity.

Excellent tour. Our lead guide for the afternoon, Brooke, is a history PhD. Very knowledgeable, coupled with an engaging style and a great sense of humor. And, of course, there is good beer. A winning combo.

Our tour guide, Brooke, was amazing and fun! The history of Boston just rolled off her tongue, The tour touched on many historic sites with Brooke detailing its history. The “fun” happened learning about 3 of Boston’s oldest taverns, tasting various beers, of which Brooke also was very knowledgeable on!
It was nice to have a small group too!
Would definitely recommend anyone to sign up for this tour…try to request Brooke!!!

First time visitor to Boston and what a treat to learn its history from an absolute treasure of a tour guide and historian. Oh, and beers, too! Brooke Barbier has a personality that makes history come alive and as I discovered, no place in America better than Boston with its rich and storied past. I was happy to support Brooke and buy both of her books. I'm halfway thru Boston in the American Revolution and it's like being on the tour again. Her voice comes through the pages making each page as fun as it was on tour. Thank you, Brooke!

Brian was great. Fun walk around Boston, learned about the history of Boston and visited some cool pubs!

Our guide was amazing! Her knowledge was only second to her personality. She spoke to each of us on a personal level and related the history to our interests. She has a PhD in Am History and you can tell she loves her job.

I love history as much as I enjoy beer, and as it turns out, now I love Boston as much as both of those. For real, wash a city, and this tour helped bring the past alive. Thanks for such a good afternoon! May buy the new book online:)

Our guide, Kelly, was great. We learned some interesting things and drank some delicious beer. It sucks that the tour is non-refundable. We paid for another couple to join us, but her father died and they obviously had to fly home and miss the tour. Seems like there should be exceptions to the rule allowed.

Great tour and experience with Brooke, our tour guide. It was fun and informative. The time flew by.

Brooke was awesome! She was so knowledgeable about Boston and America's history. There was not a single dull moment. The drinks came out quickly and the story never stopped. This tour is highly recommended

The best way to learn about history. Brooke was an amazing tour guide & storyteller. We wanted to hang with her all day! The tavern stops were just as fun and interesting. The beer was an added bonus. Highly, highly recommend!!
