This was our very first time trying anything like dog sledding, and it completely exceeded our expectations! From start to finish, the tour was thoughtfully led and full of fun. Our guides, Casey and Jarod, were knowledgeable, friendly, and made sure everyone felt comfortable and engaged throughout. The dog sledding itself was such a thrill, but getting to spend time with the dogs—especially the puppies—was easily one of the highlights of the day. You can really tell how well cared for and loved the dogs are. It was the perfect way to spend the afternoon and an experience we won’t forget. Highly recommend to anyone visiting—whether you’re a first-timer like us or just looking for a unique adventure!

Very friendly staff and...

Very friendly staff and very informative about sled dogs and Idatrod. My kids loved the sled dog ride through the woods. Our guide had our kids participate in a learning session about the sleds, which was very nice. Staff took pictures of our group with the dogs and at another location. Clean bathroom facilities. Would 100% recommend!

Fun

Very fun and informative! It was great getting to meet dogs and swing them pull the summer sleds. We also got to see puppies.

Tail wagging good time!

What an amazing experience! We were early for our tour as we were driving through the area on our way to Denali and the entire staff was incredibly kind and welcoming. Dane, our guide got us started promptly at 3:00. We learned about the sport of dog sledding and a brief history of their program then went out to meet the dogs! So many barking, tail wagging, sweet pups! We spent a few minutes meeting and greeting and then got to take a ride in the summer sleds! We stopped a few times for pictures and ear scratching! The guides were spectacular in sharing more about the property and the dogs while we were in the sleds. After we got back and loved on the pups for a great ride, we got to meet the puppies! BEST MOMENT EVER!! We have taken many Viator tours over the last few years and this was by far the best!

Dog sledding, snow optional!

This dog sledding experience hit all the key things that we look for in what we consider a good use of our time and money. It was fun, educational, and memorable. We were provided a good overview of the sport as it has evolved for running the Iditarod race versus traditional cargo hauling that we usually think of. After the introduction and background we meet the dogs which was a very pleasant experience. Typically I would expect this to be over the top chaos but the dogs were very well behaved and not at all overly aggressive. I think it speaks to the care, love, and attention they all receive from birth from their mushers. Riding in the sled was of course the highlight and gives you a good idea of how excited the dogs are to work as well as the draw of this unique sport.

10 plus stars!!

Wow I would give 10 stars if I could! I definitely recommend coming here if your looking for a great sled dog experience. All the dogs were super friendly! We learned so much about sled dog racing and had an amazing time on the trail! Kacey was our guide and she did amazing, she introduced us to the team, talked about race stories and answered all our questions! Matthew definitely cares about his dogs which meant so much to us to know these dogs are well loved! I will be coming back for sure next year!!!!

Perfect end to Alaskan experience!

Lynda_H, Jul 2024
Loved talking to people who actually compete in Iditarod and other races. Enjoyed the real sled feel other than some groups who seem to use ATV’s? And of course enjoyed visiting the dogs and puppies. Such an awesome tour! Pack waterproof gear so you can really enjoy!
