If you don't have the time, or the expertise required, to go on a glacier expedition on foot, a helicopter tour is a great way to see the glaciers surrounding Anchorage. This tour takes you over spectacular scenery and makes three landings—one alpine, one on an ice wall, and one in the middle of Knik Glacier—where you can get out and explore with your guide. You also have the possibility of seeing mountain goats, Dall sheep, moose, and, in the summer months, bears and wolves. Note: in winter, the helicopter lands next to the glacier.

ur helicopter tour over the Knik Glaciers was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Brian was a wonderful guide and an exceptional helicopter pilot who made safety his top priority while ensuring we had an unforgettable ride. He was very knowledgeable and shared fascinating information about the glaciers and Lake George, which made the experience even more meaningful. We felt completely at ease the entire time, and the views were absolutely breathtaking. A huge thank you to Brian for being such a skilled pilot and an amazing guide. This experience is highly recommended and something we will never forget.

This helicopter glacier tour was an absolutely unforgettable experience. Seeing the vast ice fields, deep crevasses, and bright blue ice from above was breathtaking and far more impressive than anything you can witness from the ground. The flight was smooth and felt very safe, and our pilot shared interesting facts about the area throughout the journey. It was the perfect mix of adventure, stunning scenery, and unique perspective. I highly recommend this experience to everyone!

First time in a helicopter (scratch one off of the Bucket List); Pilot was GREAT - very knowledgeable, friendly and courteous; Flights were smooth despite some wind and landings were good also; Safety was observed at all times; 3 outings were diverse so we got to see different aspects of the glacier; Saw 7 mountain goats, one small black bear and 3 moose. GREAT FUN! Well worth the price.

The absolute BEST part of our vacation was this helicopter tour! We chose the one with 3 different landings, all of which were great, but to be able to get out and walk on a glacier was just awesome. If you are able to, this is the one to do!!!

Unfortunately, all of our tours are weather dependent, and conditions in the area can change rapidly — sometimes with very little notice. While we do our best to reach out to guests in advance whenever possible, there are times when weather shifts suddenly and decisions must be made last minute, similar to how major airlines occasionally need to cancel flights unexpectedly for safety.

Best experience of my life. Our pilot, Cody, was amazing and got us in the best spots on the tour. We did the Grand Knik Tour (2 hours with 3 landings) and I would do it again! Everyone was so nice and it’s definitely worth the money. It feels like a different planet. Plus the pilot took super good pictures of myself and my party!

They are located in a beautiful area and are very professional. I would especially like to call out our pilots Kyle and Turner, who were really awesome and they told us a lot of facts and we never felt rushed. They made sure everyone was safe on the glacier and took us to some great spots.

This is the best way to see Alaskan glaciers. Sam was our pilot and he made sure we got the best views. He landed in 3 different places, including on the glacier itself. I would highly recommend taking this tour if you want to explore Alaska

This was our second helicopter tour in Alaska, and compared to the first tour with a different company, this one was by far the worst experience—from beginning to end.
First, they told us we needed to pay a $150 surcharge because one of our five friends weighed 268 lbs, which is over the 250 lb limit. When I booked online through Viator and confirmed over the phone, I was told the surcharge would be around $20, not $150.
What upset me even more was the reason for the charge. They claimed it was because they couldn’t sell another ticket due to the total weight limit of 600 lbs per helicopter. However, here’s the issue: the booking rules state that you can’t book the tour as a single person—you need at least two people. We were a group of five and booked two helicopters for the same time slot, so they wouldn’t have been able to sell any additional tickets anyway.
They also mentioned that the total weight for each helicopter couldn’t exceed 600 lbs for three passengers. However, our group’s weights were 101, 110, 117, 149, and 268 lbs. Even with two helicopters, none of the combinations would have exceeded the 600 lb limit. It seemed like they were just trying to take advantage of us for extra money. Charging $150 just because one of us was 16 lbs over the limit is not a fair resolution.
After this experience, I checked with the previous helicopter tour company we used and another company we booked for the next day. Both have a 290 lb per person limit, and as long as the total weight for three passengers doesn’t exceed 600 lbs, there’s no surcharge. That’s the fair rule they should be following.
And this was just the beginning. After the flight, the guide hardly interacted with us or provided any explanations—it felt more like a taxi ride than a tour. The landing site, which was the most important part for us, was also a huge disappointment. It was nothing like what we had experienced on other helicopter tours, hikes, or boat tours, where the guides were engaging and informative.
We were also supposed to have better helicopters, but they told us they didn’t have pilots to fly them, even though we paid for the top-tier experience.
One extra tip: always ask the guide how long each landing will last so you get the maximum time you’ve paid for. On our 2-hour tour, everything felt rushed, and they didn’t even explain the itinerary properly.
Please do your research before booking this tour. There are much better options in Alaska with more reasonable prices and a better overall experience. I will definitely never book with this company again, nor will I recommend them. For $3,600 plus a $150 surcharge, this was the worst experience we had in Alaska.
We drive 4 hours round trip hoping for the best experience and turn out the worst experience.
The only positive point of this tour was the smooth piloting of the helicopter itself..

Our policy for our comfort surcharge is clearly stated in the booking process. Every helicopter company is the state of Alaska (and most everywhere in the US). On 9/26 we emailed you communication about the surcharge to which you did not reach out to our company to inquire about.
We strive to provide an A+ experience, and would have liked to have talked to you personally about this situation however you choose to dispute your credit card charge and write multiple bad reviews over several platforms instead of contacting our company for us to understand and correct any wrong doing.
To those looking to take a helicopter tour, or any tour for that matter...please read the documentation fully before, during and after your booking process. This will help eliminate unexpected charges or policies. if you have questions about said charges or policies, contact the tour provider for clarification.
