The food stops were genuine local gems, the sightseeing was fun and informative.
It was a nice way to see a lot with limited time in the city.
This was way too long a tour, and the food we experienced was substandard. Not a good value for the cost.

Our Anchorage Sightseeing & Food Tour is approximately 4.5 hours and is designed to combine a sightseeing tour of Anchorage with several local food stops. We understand that this length and format may not be the right fit for every traveler.
We also take your comments about the food seriously. As we plan for the 2027 season, we are currently reevaluating our food stops and menu selections with the goal of improving both the quality and variety of the experience.
We appreciate the feedback and will use it as we continue to improve the tour.
Chris was very experienced and knowledgeable. He provided a lot of useful and unique information about Anchorage and many other things. He was also a very safe driver. We highly enjoyed the tour. Would very much recommend.

Chris showed us the entire anchorage area, told us great history and stories, and fed us wonderful local food! Gave us plenty of suggestions for our visit in Alaska and Anchorage. Would highly recommend this trip to get a local feel for the area!!

What a great day we had with Chef Luke! This food tour combined history, sightseeing and great local restaurants. Chef Luke is a great storyteller and kept us entertained between food stops for both sweet and savory treats. We feel like we really got to see and experience Anchorage. This tour is a great value and must do if you are in Anchorage.

Alaskan Sights & Bites
We met our guide Luke at our pickup spot along with other tour members. There were about 8 of us in total. The tour started around 12:30 so do not eat anything as there will be plenty of good food along the way. Luke is also a chef so he has insider knowledge of where the good food is located. He was also born in Alaska so he has the experiences that create wonderful stories about the places we visited and the foods we were eating. Luke is very engaging with a good sense of humor and we all enjoyed the commentary and the food.

We had a fantastic time on the Sightseeing & Food Tour! Luke, our guide and an Alaska native, shared so much interesting history and local knowledge about Anchorage and his beautiful home state. His passion for Alaska really made the tour engaging and enjoyable.
He also introduced us to several fun and delicious local eateries that we may not have found on our own. The van was clean, comfortable, and air-conditioned, making for a relaxing ride between stops.
If you’re looking for a great way to see Anchorage, learn about the area, and enjoy some tasty local food, I highly recommend this tour!

Excellent guided tour by Luke who was born and raised in Alaska. All meals and snacks were to local small family owned businesses and were paid for by the tour. Amazing food!! Beautiful scene and lots of stories and descriptions of the area.

We've been on walking food tours before, but this one was in a van, and we went all over the Anchorage area. Very informative. Great food. I would recommend.

The tour was disappointing from both a sightseeing tour and a food tasting tour. We stopped first at a long-standing restaurant and had a fried chicken leg and an ice cream sample. We then stopped for a pastry and more ice cream and ended with a cod taco that had very little fish in it. We drove by the airport and saw a couple of moose which were the highlight of the tour. The tour operator talked more about himself than the sights. I would not do it again.

Our goal is to introduce guests to a variety of locally owned Anchorage businesses while also sharing the city’s history, neighborhoods, scenery, and everyday Alaskan life. The fried chicken stop is a long-standing Anchorage institution, while our other stops feature local bakeries, small food businesses, and rotating menu items. However, we understand that the selections you received did not feel varied or substantial enough, particularly the small amount of fish in the taco and the repeated frozen desserts.
We are glad the moose sightings were a highlight, but we are disappointed that the sightseeing and narration did not provide the experience you expected. We hire guides with outgoing personalities and personal stories about life in Alaska, but those stories should always add to the tour—not take the focus away from Anchorage and our guests.
Your comments are helpful, and we will use them as we review the food portions, balance of tastings, and guide presentation. We are sorry we did not deliver the memorable Alaska experience you were hoping for.
This is the WORST tour money I have spent. We had no authentic Alaskan food only sweets, fried chicken and a street taco at the end. Guide rambled incessantly for hours.

Our goal is to showcase Anchorage through a combination of local history, sightseeing, and food from locally owned businesses. The taco served at the final stop was made with Alaska fish, but we understand that the overall selection of sweets, fried chicken, and a fish taco did not provide the variety of distinctly Alaskan foods you were expecting.
We are also concerned that the guide’s narration felt excessive rather than engaging and informative. Our guides are encouraged to share stories and personal experiences, but the focus should always remain on Anchorage, Alaska, and the guests’ overall experience.

Our tour guide had a great personality, but some of the food stops weren’t uniquely Anchorage. We didn’t see much wildlife on the tour, but it a good drive around town and the inlet, listening to someone who is a true Alaskan.

Chef Luke is a great guide. We had rainy weather which was a bummer but we didn’t need sunshine for this tour. It was a good mix of humor, great food, and other sights. We had a few disruptions that were out of everyone’s control and the guide pivoted well. We saw great things that we wouldn’t have otherwise seen. Thanks for a great time!

Amazing food and experience- thanks to Chef Luke! Tour starts with award winning diner and we were eating great food throughout- pastries, ice cream, and ended up with cod tacos!

The tour has very little to do with good food. The emphasis is on driving to see wildlife. This of course is hit or miss, and was a miss for our group.
Our guide was very impressed with himself. He did not have the group introduce ourselves, he only wanted to go on about himself. The food: first stop for milk shake + fried chicken ok, a very delicious bakery, more ice cream and last stop for fish taco — was terrible. At nearly $200 / person was EXTREMELY disappointed. I do NOT recommend. Later that day tried one of the places recommended by guide and that was not good either. The van was comfortable. This tour has potential but was a miss for us. We booked through viator.com. We have booked other tours through them and had great experiences.

While wildlife sightings are always unpredictable and never guaranteed, the tour should still feel well-balanced between Anchorage history, scenic stops, local stories, and food. Anchorage has many yummy locations to enjoy delicious bites. My favorite on this tour was the Lucky Wishbone Diner. The fried chicken drumstick, hushpuppies with honey butter, and the peach milkshake were so good, and the people were so welcoming! Benji's Bakery & Cafe, and él Green-Go's were tasty too. We also visited Motley Moo Creamery, which had yummy ice cream, but I actually prefer Wild Scoops on 5th Avenue. Try the Baked Alaska Cone with wild blueberry ice cream!!!
Anchorage has some beautiful scenery, especially when the weather is nice. Alaska gets quite a bit of rainfall, so pack your raincoat.
Moose are abundant, but sometimes elusive, so don't be too disappointed if you don't see one on this tour. Our driver, Luke, had wonderful stories about growing up in, and living in Alaska. He was very nice, funny too.
Ask your guide to go to Beluga Point when the tide is not low, if possible. Unfortunately there were no Beluga Whales for us to see with a very low tide. That was disappointing, but we don't control the weather or the tides.
It is a beautiful area, and the nearby waterfall is lovely. Seeing Lake Hood Seaplane Base, and many of the brightly painted floatplanes was interesting.
However, I think it would be nice to see more sites on this tour. If the weather had not been rather rainy and cold, we might have seem more sites. For example, Anchorage has many beautiful murals that are worthy of photography. It was very sweet of Luke to drop us off at our hotel. He is a very nice guide, and loves sharing Anchorage with guests.

It is okay. The stops are underwhelming. The food was good, but it wasn’t anything special. Make sure your other tours don’t stop at the same places. There were repeats on my other tour.

Tour guide and the drive around Anchorage was great. The food was okay. Was expecting more than just three deserts (small milkshake, cookie and an ice cream cone) and two small portions of pan fried chicken and a fish taco.
Not enough food in this tour for the price paid.

Excellent time spent and saw many beautiful scenes Our guide was a chef and took us to several locations in and around Anchorage. He was very knowledgeable of the city but also the food that the city has to offer.

A fun way to tour Anchorage! Come hungry, even though the itinerary says sight seeing followed by food we definitely made two food stops first. The guide is from Alaska and co-owner of the company so he is extremely knowledgeable. The food was yummy and the tour enjoyable! Side note I’m pretty sure Chris doesn’t know he’s a distant cousin of Seth Rogen lol.
