The food tour was fabulous. Chris was knowledgeable and a great story teller. We stopped at two award winning restaurants, an ice cream shop and brewery. I would highly recommend to anyone interested in learning more about Alaskan history and eat some good food.

So much fun! It was great to see the highlights of Anchorage (a lovely place) and to snack our way through the city with some delicious treats. More food than I was expecting!

Anchorage has many yummy locations to enjoy delicious bites. My favorite on this tour was the Lucky Wishbone Diner. The fried chicken drumstick, hushpuppies with honey butter, and the peach milkshake were so good, and the people were so welcoming! Benji's Bakery & Cafe, and él Green-Go's were tasty too. We also visited Motley Moo Creamery, which had yummy ice cream, but I actually prefer Wild Scoops on 5th Avenue. Try the Baked Alaska Cone with wild blueberry ice cream!!!
Anchorage has some beautiful scenery, especially when the weather is nice. Alaska gets quite a bit of rainfall, so pack your raincoat.
Moose are abundant, but sometimes elusive, so don't be too disappointed if you don't see one on this tour. Our driver, Luke, had wonderful stories about growing up in, and living in Alaska. He was very nice, funny too.
Ask your guide to go to Beluga Point when the tide is not low, if possible. Unfortunately there were no Beluga Whales for us to see with a very low tide. That was disappointing, but we don't control the weather or the tides.
It is a beautiful area, and the nearby waterfall is lovely. Seeing Lake Hood Seaplane Base, and many of the brightly painted floatplanes was interesting.
However, I think it would be nice to see more sites on this tour. If the weather had not been rather rainy and cold, we might have seem more sites. For example, Anchorage has many beautiful murals that are worthy of photography. It was very sweet of Luke to drop us off at our hotel. He is a very nice guide, and loves sharing Anchorage with guests.

Great food. Went to places locals like. Wonderful personal stories about living in Alaska including being chased by a bear.

It is okay. The stops are underwhelming. The food was good, but it wasn’t anything special. Make sure your other tours don’t stop at the same places. There were repeats on my other tour.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Thank you for sharing your feedback. I’m sorry to hear the stops did not feel as unique as expected and that there was overlap with another tour you took. Our stops can vary depending on the day, restaurant availability, and tour route, but we understand how repeats could take away from the experience. We appreciate your comments and will keep this in mind as we continue improving our tours.

Tour guide and the drive around Anchorage was great. The food was okay. Was expecting more than just three deserts (small milkshake, cookie and an ice cream cone) and two small portions of pan fried chicken and a fish taco.
Not enough food in this tour for the price paid.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Thank you for sharing your feedback. I’m glad to hear you enjoyed the guide and the drive around Anchorage, but I’m sorry the food portion did not meet your expectations. Our stops and portions can vary depending on the day, restaurant availability, and tour timing, but we understand that the balance of sweets and more substantial food is important.
We appreciate your comments and will use them as we continue improving the tour experience and working toward a better mix of local food stops.
Susan_F, Jun 2026
Very uncomfortable. The van was 2 people too small. Needs a little polish and less ice cream. . . . .
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Thank you for sharing your feedback. I’m sorry to hear the van felt uncomfortable and that the tour did not feel as polished as expected. We also appreciate your note about the number of ice cream/sweet stops. We’re always looking for ways to improve the guest experience, and your comments will be considered as we continue refining the tour.

A fun way to tour Anchorage! Come hungry, even though the itinerary says sight seeing followed by food we definitely made two food stops first. The guide is from Alaska and co-owner of the company so he is extremely knowledgeable. The food was yummy and the tour enjoyable! Side note I’m pretty sure Chris doesn’t know he’s a distant cousin of Seth Rogen lol.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Thank you for joining us! We’re so glad you enjoyed the food, sightseeing, and Chris’s Alaska stories. And now we may need to investigate that Seth Rogen family connection!
Cindy_B, Jun 2026
Lots of food, all the best sightseeing! You really get you money’s worth on this tour. So much so that we aren’t even going to go on the trolley tour tomorrow because Chris covered it all and then some! Food was delicious, and so much! Chris is an excellent story teller too of Alaska history. This was probably the best driving food and sight seeing tour I have ever been on. Thank you Chris!
Response from Host, Jun 2026

The food was good animal sightings are not the best in the afternoon. The driver was fun and informative. Information about pickup location was lacking.
Response from Host, May 2026
Thank you for your review! We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the food and that your driver was fun and informative.
We appreciate your feedback about the afternoon animal sightings and pickup location details. Wildlife can be unpredictable, especially later in the day, but we always hope Alaska gives our guests a few memorable surprises. We’re also sorry the pickup information wasn’t as clear as it should have been, and we’ll use your comments to improve communication for future guests.
Thank you again for joining us and for sharing your experience!

A bit of a surprise. Food tour was to local out-of-the-way places; this was great both in terms of the food we had (one location a James Beard Award winner) and the places visited. Chef Luke was our driver and guide, providing local history, insights into the areas visited, and a veteran of the Anchorage food scene. Chef Luke was entertaining and enthusiastic throughout the day making it a fun experience. Really enjoyed our tour.
