What are people saying about Maui

Lovely trip aboard the Pride of Maui Elua!
My husband and I took this tour for our 41st wedding anniversary. This was by far our favorite thing we did on our vacation! The boat was beautiful. So clean, very large nice bathrooms, Warm water showers after snorkeling, lots of space to spread out. The crew were absolutely amazing! Caden the captain was knowledgeable and fun, the ladies, Sienna and Anna, were top notch professionals and so helpful, and Jim was the best all around bartender, chef and jack of all trades. The food was extremely good with fresh pastries, fruit, juices and coffee as we got on the boat and then a truly gourmet meal for lunch with Jim at the helm of the flat top grill preparing cheeseburgers, teriyaki chicken, and fish. Homemade macadamia nut cookies were provided for dessert. Drinks at the bar were fresh and plentiful. The snorkeling experience was truly wonderful. The gear was super clean and the efficiency of the crew made the experience top notch. We saw lots of different species of fish at Molokini Island including a small two foot shark, various wrasses, trigger fish, tangs, etc. There was a whale sighting along with some dolphins. Unfortunately we didn't see turtles, but that wasn't a make or break on the trip. Overall just a wonderful experience and worth every penny!

Dolphins, sharks, giant fish-awesome experience for all ages
Family of five with 3 teens-I was afraid this was going to be either a Disneyland-style fake experience that the teens would be bored with, or me being afraid of deep water and confined spaces I would be terrified the entire time. It was neither of those, and only amazing! From the start the staff was kind, professional, and funny. We met at the Lahaina harbor and had a quick briefing on what to expect and also learned respectfully about tourism returning after the devastating fire. It was surreal to compare the historic buildings and losses in the area, (my husband and I were in that same spot in 2022 and we were blown away by the catastrophic loss of the city.. ) but truly impressive to see the community beginning to heal. Now back to the actual tour: We had wonderful visibility in the water on this day, saw a turtle on the way out of the harbor-and enjoyed the views of the channel, surfers and island on the ride out to the sub. Once on the sub we immediately saw fish and reef in the clear bright blue water. I was worried about temperature, crowding, and pressure changes in the sub on the dive but experienced none of that and no queasiness. After the initial descent we were followed by a pod of spinner dolphins nearly the entire trip that danced and played all around us (we even saw them jumping and spinning back on the surface as we left the sub!) the shipwreck had tons of life and corals, a sleeping shark, and a giant trevally was also seen hunting the area and seemed to follow the sub as well. This truly was the highlight of our trip and such a unique perspective on what lies beneath the surface of this beautiful place. Kudos to our guide Keolani for the engaging history and for being so knowledgeable about the sub and sea life, the captain and the rest of the crew for their professionalism and a little bit of humor, and for this whole experience. I will be recommending to anyone who visits Maui to go!

A Relaxing Road to Hana!
Our guide Malia was a wealth of information and yet made the trip personal by asking group members to share about their lives. Malia also went out of her way to do things the group wanted to do like unplanned stops in villages or roadside eateries. The tour had very good planned stops and it was very relaxing letting Malia drive. My only negative comment is that the vans were not very large. And while they accommodated the number of passengers, I’m sure it was difficult to see from the back and impossible to take any pictures. Perhaps an open truck or something that allows right better access for photos on a road full of photogenic locations, but where you cannot stop due to traffic would be better for overall satisfaction of the customers. Nevertheless, a very good tour.

Haleakalā Sunrise
Our local tour operator was Valley Isle. They were wonderful. You should dress warm because the temperature at the top is around 30 degrees. They provided warm lined ponchos as an added bonus to keep you warm. They also made sure we got the best spot to capture the sunrise. It was amazing and a must see when visiting the area. Afterwards we went to breakfast at a beautiful plantation restaurant that was included in the price and the food was delicious. I definitely would book this tour again.

Maui brings together Hawaiian culture, gorgeous scenery, and opportunities for adventure on land and on the water. Maui tours reflect this diversity of options and range from scenic drives along the road to Hana, known for its waterfalls, beaches, and gorgeous viewpoints, to snorkeling trips out to the Molokini Crater, just offshore. Other not-to-be-missed experiences on Maui include attending a traditional luau, zipping around in an ATV, and enjoying a dinner of fresh Hawaiian fare as you sail into the sunset.
