Roughly an eight hour...

Roughly an eight hour trip from pick up to drop off from our hotel in Flagstaff. Roughly 3 to 4 hours of time spent viewing the South rim of the Grand Canyon. Time for souvenir shopping at a general store on the Navajo reservation on the way to the Grand Canyon. Traveled 30 miles along the south rim of the Grand Canyon starting at the east entrance to the park(Desert view Watchtower area) to the Grand Canyon Village, where there was roughly 75 minutes for a lunch break and Grand Canyon viewing. Final stop was Visitors Center and Mather point viewing area. Plenty of stops to see different views from the South rim of the Grand Canyon and the Colorado River. We had several sightings of elk and mule deer at the Grand Canyon. Our Tour had 10 people in a 14 passenger van. The tour guide Andrea did an overall terrific job. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and provided informative commentary throughout the trip.

The tour was thorough and very enjoyable. The tourguide, John, was excellent. He had a wealth of info about the canyon that he shared with us. Due to the of-season, my wife and I were his only guests, and he was very good to us. He bought us lunch although not obligated to do so. He gave us a detailed explanation of the rock formations in the canyon, whihc we really appreciated.

The way to see Grand Canyon!

Great tour of Grand Canyon. Sam our guide was kind and knowledgeable. She gave us lots of history on the drive of the canyon and native tribes. Lunch was nice picnic. Robbed on our anniversary!

Loved everything about it! The shootout to start out the trip was perfect with wonderful actors. Jim was great with his “bad” jokes and the train entertainment was spot on for the moods going up and coming down. The Grand Canyon was definitely the wonder that it is and getting robbed on our 18th wedding anniversary topped it all off. 10 out of 10 will definitely do it again! This tour is very informative about the history of Flagstaff. We did start in an underground area but the rest of the tour was above ground. It appears that the underground tunnels have been closed off. We had a couple people on our tour that it would have been difficult to navigate the underground floors so we weren’t disappointed. Our tour guide made the tour interesting, informative and fun.

You Should Absolutely Do This!

Tremendous experience and one we will always remember. Truly the best way to experience the Canyon in a way few people get to. Hike was challenging but doable and our guide Christy was amazing and interesting individual that we enjoyed spending time with. You are really set up to succeed here - from necessary equipment (poles, backpack, etc), to plenty of supplies/snacks and a pace that matches your ability.

Grand says it all.

They don't call it the Grand Canyon for nix. For first timers, a guided tour is the way to go. If you don't, guaranteed you'll miss stuff. Plus no hassles. We stayed in Flagstaff, they picked us up at our hotel. Didn't have to worry about anything. Our guide/driver, Linda, was outstanding. She was very knowledgable about the geography and the history of the area. She was excellent at adapting to our interests and pace. Kudos! A highlight of our first trip to the Southwest.

So much fun! Excellent course that is very deceiving. First 3 levels were very manageable and staff was very helpful to suggest a break before the two final killer courses. So worth it to complete! We learned a ton about the history of flagstaff, the family’s who helped found it and what a lot of the businesses started out as and turned into through the years. We also learned about a lot of the macabre history and about things that have happened inside of the older buildings a lot of people wouldn’t know about. It was rather cold at 8 pm and our tour guide Olivia did a great job. She was very knowledgeable on the subject matter.
