This tour includes two hours on the water following the whales, and a quick 15 minute peek at the Mendenhall Glacier. It is just enough time to step off the bus, take a quick picture, and then head back downtown for the rest of your Alaska adventure! Capt. TJ and Andrew were incredible. Talk about people who make you feel welcome. Ensure everyone has a good time and blesses your kiddo with a core memory on the boat. We so appreciate your kindness, family feel, knowledge sharing, stories, laughter, and patience in getting Mom on the ship with her wheelchair and transferring to a chair. What a wonderful time we had. Alaska Tails does a first rate job. They were prompt, friendly and knowledgeable. The scenery was beyond compare and we saw Orca and Humpbacks whales. We had an all female crew and they were simply the best. Krichelle, Claire and Ash were knowledgeable, friendly and invested in the protecting the environment and promoting the welfare of the whales. Plus, Claire was able to explain and show us about the interesting topic of "Bird Bricks".

Highly recommend! We saw so many whales and enjoyed our tour with Dalton, Nic and Hannah. We saw so many whales and the boat ride was smooth and beautiful. The team was knowledgeable and we had a great time. We were very fortunate to have a mom and baby whale swim right next to the boat, spraying some with the blow hole. So cool! We had a wonderful time on our whale watching tour. We saw many whales and sea lions. The tour guides answered all of our questions and were very friendly. This tour isn’t connected to the cruise ship and is so much more affordable than the excursions from the cruise. It was a top highlight from our trip to Alaska.

Amazing Experience!!!

The views of the glaciers are just something you can’t put into words. It felt like we were in a National Geographic documentary. The whole family absolutely loved it!! HIGHLY recommend!! Perfect Experience!

The helicopter was a perfect fit for the 3 of us and another couple. Pre-ride was efficient and each person was weighed. Riding to the glacier was not only beautiful but amazing. Pilot, Jules, did a very nice description of different things we saw. She loved her job and it showed. Walking on the glacier was like a surreal experience for me. And we even drank some of the perfectly clear water. Loved every second of this. Don’t go to kennels, you miss the experience ofvthevicecwalk.

Majestic Ice

While I would have liked to witness the glacier decades ago as it was spilling into the lake, it was still a majestic sight. Getting good views of the glacier itself and the falls was easy. Even on an excellent weather day like we had (clear skies and ~70°), the park was not that crowded and easy to move about without bumping into others. The visit provided an easy afternoon, beautiful nature view, and a good walk to stretch the legs. Recommended.

Frank, the tour operator,...

Frank, the tour operator, did a poor job of explaining the history of Juneau and the sites. He talked very fast and off the cuff. The tour regarding the actual view of the Mendenhall Glacier and Nugget Falls were both phenomenal. It was a disservice for the operator to not benefit from beauty of it all on behalf of the tourists.

Awesome views of whales and glacier

Whale watching was fabulous. We saw two associations of 4 or 5 whales apiece. And some sea lions. The tour operator was excellent. Glacier and nugget falls views were spectacular. It would have been better if we had an extra 30 minutes. It was a bit rushed. The views were magnificent. Recommend it highly
