Michael guide was the best!
Lots of walking. Michael our bus driver/guide was amazing, knowledgeable and easy going. Our first guide in Auschwitz was difficult to understand so I even took my headset off. When we arrived in Birkenau, I defected to Michael’s group since he was easy to understand and informative. You will definitely get your steps in so wear comfortable shoes since some uneven ground.

Well worth it
Great tour with our guide Bart. He was so knowledgeable and his passion for the history and tragedy of it all shines through. It was a full on day with only one chance to for refreshments and that was when we arrived. Traffic returning to Krakow was heavy so we had a slight delay on returning but more time to reflect on what we saw and heard

The cave was incredible, the camp was an experience
The cave was incredible. The camp was definitely worth seeing - the upside is the local guide didn’t spare us from history, the downside is you have to see that history. No highways connecting the two sites, so town driving. Lot of walking, a lot of walking but worth it.

Depressing but important to learn about
A sobering trip but well organized from beginning to end. I recommend paying for the box lunch option because there is no time to buy food and use the restroom on the short break when the bus drops you off outside of Auschwitz. (The ladies room line is a mile long - they really need more restrooms!)
