Marshall and Sadie met us right at the boat dock, which was a plus given the chaotic shuttle service into town. They gave us a couple of hike options and our group chose the trail up to Beaver Lake south of Sitka. What a winning decision! The rain forest was stunning, with the trail winding up alongside waterfalls. Our guides were extensively knowledgeable about the forest and surrounding area and were talented, intelligent and interesting young people with fascinating life experiences to share with us as we hiked along.
After reaching the lake, and stopping for a snack and photos, we continued on up to the muskeg environment above it, where the views opened to the snow-capped peaks all around. Truly breathtaking. One of the most memorable hikes we've ever taken.

It is a very challenging hike...and you should be reasonably fit. We loved it. Gorgeous scenery.... and lots of waterfalls. We could not have ask for a better guide. Nephi was fabulous! He is very knowledgeable about all of the plants and trees... willing to answer lots of questions...and extremely patient to stop and let us take pictures. Great job, Nephi! You deserve the highest rating there is. Thanks again for everything. 😎

Our guide, Jared, mer us on time and he pleasantly surprised us with some interesting information about Sitka, he was very attentive and easy going. The walk was easy, no major inclines and the weather was perfect. We had some wild berries along the way and i can say it was a pleasant walk.

I had first time hikers in my family and Dakota was great in guiding us. He met us on time and gave us great insight on the area and what to expect. The trail was more rigorous than I planned for, as there's is over 700ft of elevation change. We made it and were glad that we did!

We did the adventure hike and Dakota took us up the steep route. It was amazing. The waterfalls are so pretty. The lake is almost secondary to the falls. It was very cool. We were fast enough that we got to hike around it too. What a magical hike.

Excellent experience. Ryan was really great and knowledgeable. We are not experienced hikers and was fun for the whole family.

Super honest review/ feedback here - Abigail was great but this tour was not worth the price. We booked a small group hike (there were 7 of us total), our guide Abigail picked us up from the cruise terminal and brought us to a trailhead maybe 15-20 mins away. It’s a public path so anyone could come to it. The scenery was pretty but we saw ZERO wildlife. I don’t know what I was expecting, I guess something “more”, more facts, more wildlife, more trails, etc. especially for the price. Maybe even a hike “off the beaten path” with an experienced guide. We could have gotten to this trailhead alone and probably would have hiked longer if it were just my husband and I. I’m sorry, I do not recommend. Because of this tour, Sitka was a huge letdown.

This hike was easy to moderate and was filled with information about the animals and plants found in Sitka.

Lanie was very knowledgeable and very enthusiastic!! She knew all about the plants and slugs. Even though she has only been here for Three years, she has developed relationships with the local peoples who have shared traditions.

We were so happy to get into the wilderness of Alaska. We had a fantastic hike in Sitka with Lanie. She picked us up at the cruise terminal and showed us the town then took us on a wonderful hike. We learned alot about the culture and way of life in Sitka. We are jealous she gets to live there!

There is a portion of the hike that is uphill but well worth it and our guide Brie was accommodating and very knowledgeable. The view at the end of the hike was incredible of the lake and the forest with the mountains in the background. Would recommend it if you like the outdoors.

The adventure hike was beautiful and fairly easy. Marshall was the best guide. He was full of information and very friendly. Thank you Sitka and Marshall!

Great experience just as listed in the listing. Guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. I would strongly recommend the Adventure Hike.

Wonderful experience! It was supposed to be three hikers total, but two never showed up. The hiking guide, Marshall took me for a solo hike without hesitation. The views were phenomenal and Marshall was very informative about the trail. It was such a lovely experience and great memory.

Many times I expect the photos to not be representative of the experience. In this case it was just as beautiful as the photos. Our guides were so friendly.

This was a fun hike around Beaver Lake. It had some uphill but was mostly flat and an easy hike. Marshall was a great guide and very informative.

Adventure was excellent. Hill climb was a bit tougher than expected, so be prepared! Good knees and moderate fitness makes it more enjoyable.

This is a gorgeous hike with very helpful friendly tour guides that gave us lots of cool info on the way there. But it was very difficult (think steep incline while navigating TONS of rocks) and it didn't leave much time to actually see Beaver Lake. I would recommend this hike for people who are avid experienced hikers.

It is a great hike for mobile families. Extremely interesting and informative. Very scenic and if you like to hike it’s very fun
