We are an all-women, non-profit volunteer group that live and work in Sitka. Since 1969 the New Archangel Dancers have promoted Alaska as a visitor destination by sharing their knowledge of Sitka's Russian History and their pride in Alaska. The Dancers' success and notoriety have been enhanced by regular guest performances at the opening of new Alaska Airlines terminals, at Alaska Governors' inaugural celebrations, and at various dance festivals, tourism trade shows, conferences, and public events. In addition to performing throughout the "lower 48," the dancers have performed to enthusiastic audiences in Hawaii, Japan, Russia, Mexico, and the Caribbean.

Along the way, see the Rose Hill House, the former Red Light District, and learn about mysterious shipwrecks. The tour is offered at two different times, but can also be arranged for private groups.

Tour is led by a knowledgeable long-time Alaskan, who enjoys sharing Sitka's history and culture. The tour is limited to groups of six or less to ensure a quality experience. Tour guests learn of the Russian occupation and indigenous peoples of the area. Guest will also meet several local merchants who create locally made products, such as a flake salt, salve and soap made from a local plant; all used by the guide. At tours end, guest receive description of attractions, map of downtown Sitka, pass to Sitka History Museum, and discount card for use with selected merchants.

A non-profit bear rescue sanctuary for orphaned bear cubs. You will have the opportuntity to see five Coastal Brown Bear and three Black Bear! Another highlight included in the tour is Sitka National Historical Park. This stop dives into Sitka's Russian and Alaskan Native history depicted from the totem poles. The guide takes you to see multiple totem poles while sharing some of Sitka's history along the way. This is a great stop for photos of Sitka's forest, history and shore line view of our rocky beaches. This is a mild walking stop on the tour. Gentle reminder that we are not ADA accessible. Our last stop is on Japonski Island, a small island that connects to our main island by bridge. Japonski Island has our WW2 history, Rocky Gutierrez airport, Coast Guard Air Station/boat station and scenic photo stops.
