This was a good tour of very fast paced. The tour guide brought visuals and was very knowledgeable about the history of the locations toured. Very friendly! Over all great experience, just wear very comfortable shoes as there are no breaks and a lot of walking!

Too crowded and watch for the upsell

First of all the Vatican is super crowded and well it is a guided tour. The tour does not have a lot of opportunity to point out a lot of things because we need to keep moving and moving so she just points to the right and points to the left. She was lovely, but again we didn’t get much out of that. Because promise when we checked in. The person behind the desk and announced that there was a problem with my reservation, and that proceeded to tell me that the problem was that I had not booked detour for the basilica as well. I explained to her that I did not want to book the tour with the guy for the basilica, but she told me she could fix my problem if I wanted to pay more. I told her again I was not interested. While we were waiting for Jorge to start, she walked out to me and looked at me and said they will not let you in the sistine chapel with your dress. I asked her what was wrong with it since it had sleeves and was at my knees, and she said it was still too short. I pointed on my friend had the same length and she said no Hertz was fine. I asked her if she was pointing that out because she conveniently was selling scarves in the office and she said no she just wanted to let me know that they would not let me in. Having been to Sistine Chapel before i’m knowing my office was completely appropriate. We did not buy the scarf and proceeded. Of course we were let into chapel and nobody have a question anything. This is not what we expect from the tour operator. Endlessly trying to upsell you something or make you feel bad is not want be treated.

We carefully booked a skip the line Vatican tour that specifically indicated wheelchair accessible. I also communicated via chat message that one person in our group uses a mobility scooter. When we checked in with the tour operator he indicated that it was not a wheelchair accessible tour. The representative from the tour company was very helpful and made sure we still had skip the line access, albeit now a very expensive self guided tour.

Our tour guide Claudia was amazing! We had some headphone issues at the Vatican and she immediately got them fixed so we only experienced minimum delay. My complaints are about the scheduled time of the tour (4pm) and many things at the Vatican close at 5:30/6. This made our tour be rushed to be able to fit everything in we are down to minutes.

Great length, great content

We did the express Vatican tour and found it to be a great length (~2 hours) where we got to touch on the highlights and avoid the long lines. This allowed us to plan other tours the same day. Tons of really interesting information that made seeing everything, particularly the Sistine chapel, more meaningful.

In retrospect, I would skip this tour and just go to St. Peter’s square and basilica. Too crowded in museum and we did the tour of the architectural side - would have preferred the paintings . The tour guide was great but too many people in museum and not worth it. Skip this

We had the best tour guide. We didn’t even pay for parts of the tour and Marco (I think this was his name - so sorry) went above and beyond and took us to these places in his own time. He was passionate, entertaining and a fabulous story teller. Marco was funny throughout and took photos for everyone, would recommend !

Great express tour

We had a great experience with this tour. We went on a Wednesday morning at 8:30. It was much less crowded and our tour guide Marta was great. Because it was express she hit up the main/favorite spots/art etc. jt was just the right amount of time. She answered any questions we had and you could tell she was passionate about it. After the tour we were able to continue looking around as much as we wanted. I feel like I saw plenty and honestly a longer tour would have been too long for me personally.

They messaged us to say the tour at our pre-booked time had to be cancelled and asked us to come earlier. We explained we had another tour at colosseum and didn’t think we could make it in time. We rushed over there and nobody was there and four company want responding to messages. Huge bummer as now we won’t get to see the sisters chapel or Vatican museums.

I would absolutely not recommend this tour company and this tour. This was our very first European trip and had 5 adults booked for the 1:30 tour only to have an associate of Viator call me 2 days prior (while I was on a cruise ) to tell me there weren’t enough people scheduled and our tour was cancelled. She tried to get me to rebook for the morning but we already had a tour booked and paid for with no cancellation. She only then had 2:30 to offer. I informed the associate that the 5 of us had to be at the train station by 4:00 to catch the express train booked thru RCL This gave us only 1.5 hours to cover one of the most amazing collection of art work in the world. No discount was offered, no private tour was agreed to ( for 1:30); just meet an hour later and run thru the Vatican on your own Then they actually sent me our tickets posted for the original 1:30 time the day before. I had to email several times to get an answer on WHAT TIME was our tour. Finally someone answered that “ the system” generated the wrong time I will not use this company ever again and will be requesting a full defend
