Scam

Lorna_M, Sep 2026

We purchased our tickets online and was given a coupon which we had to use to redeem our tickets, when we went to the address provided to redeem the tickets we were told there were none left and we have not received our money back either

Rip Off. Buyer beware.

Shame on Viator! Wow, $25 tickets for $95! I was rushing to get these booked, thinking that I was getting a tour of the Vatican and ended up just getting skip the line tickets worth $25, but still paid $95 for them. I trusted Viator to screen for value and they didn’t. That’s on me too for not comparison shopping better, but it doesn’t look good on them either. The ‘ticket scalper’ even gave us a phony address as a meeting point (a nonexistent address number that fell between two real numbers). He met us as we confusingly looked for his storefront. I got screwed and will be looking elsewhere for tour bookings in the future. Too bad as I’ve used Viator more than a dozen times in the past.

Dear Customer, We are truly sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. We sincerely understand your frustration regarding the ticket price and the misunderstanding about the type of service you booked. We would like to clarify that the product you purchased was a skip-the-line entry ticket to the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel, rather than a guided tour. We always aim to provide our customers with clear information about the service included in their booking. Regarding the meeting point and address, we sincerely apologize for any confusion or inconvenience you experienced. We take your feedback very seriously and will review the information provided to customers to help prevent similar situations in the future. We genuinely appreciate the fact that you have used Viator many times before, and we are sorry that this experience left you disappointed. Your feedback is valuable to us, and we hope we can have the opportunity to provide you with a much better experience in the future. Kind regards, Roman Signature Tour

!Our guide was knowledgeable and explained everything clearly and in detail. The tour was well organized, and Viator was very reliable. They even contacted us on WhatsApp to make sure we found the meeting point without any problems. Highly recommended!
