Meet at Piazza della Città Leonina, near the arches, where the square meets via di Porta Angelica. Facing the Arches, our meeting point is located at the corner of the square, on the left-hand side, next to the kiosk stand.

Meet your group at Piazza della Città Leonina, near the arches, before heading into St. Peter's Square. Reserved entry gets you past the security lines—which can stretch considerably, particularly during busy periods—and into the basilica without the wait.
Inside, the guided visit covers about an hour, with your guide walking you through the key works: Michelangelo's "Pietà," Bernini's bronze "baldachin" (bronze canopy) above the papal altar, and the scale and detail of the interior that can be easy to overlook without context. The route then continues down to the Vatican Grottoes, where several popes are buried, for a roughly 15-minute visit.
When booking, you can upgrade to add a guided visit to Castel Sant'Angelo, the former papal fortress on the banks of the Tiber, with prebooked entry included.

So-So, not the route guide’s fault. I booked this as a 9:30 tour so to hopefully avoid the long lines. That was cancelled and rescheduled for 11:30 when I knew that there would be tremendous crowds. Our ‘fast pass’ took 45 minutes for us to stand in line before entering.

Great guide, Leo. Great way to see St. Peter’s Basilica and Square. Make sure to read what’s included, others in our tour thought dome/vatican museums were included but it is in the fine print.

The instructions were misleading in terms of where to meet to begin the tour. We arrived at the meeting point 15 minutes early, as indicated on the website, but there wasn’t anyone there to guide us so we were told to go into the main “online” line to enter. So we never were able to find our tour group and wasted $180. On the way out of what turned into our own self-guided tour, by default, we saw a kiosk for check-in for the online tours at the OPPOSITE side of the entry to the Arch of Constantine (completely opposite of what was suggested to do for a meeting point). The check-in crew for the tours arrived late, so we lost our money. Terrible.

We appreciate it was busy, but very poor communication about delays. The tour promised to climb the basilica, unfortunately a mass was schedule during our tour and we were not allowed to complete this part of tour. Happy to visit not happy with the communication about the delays before hand.

Angry and disappointed. I was at the meeting point on time but couldn’t find the group, tried to contact the tour operator via the app a few minutes before the tour started. Then contacted the company via WhatsApp and asked for help, it took them more than 20 minutes to contact the tour guide and let me know that even though I was already thru the security check and in line for tickets, I was not able to join anymore, nor I am eligible for refund. I was not a careless no show, it caused me lots of stress and anxiety, and now I’m stressed about the tour I booked with them tomorrow. Unreasonably overpriced tours, hard to find at the meeting point, don’t recommend. Do the tour yourself and save money.

I don’t think I would have enjoyed this tour during the busy season. We had short lines, which gave lots of time to enjoy the different areas of the Church. Our guide was Maria and she was very knowledgeable, bringing the different eras to life. I didn’t climb the done but enjoyed exploring the terrace. I found the Crypt fascinating and quite moving, more so as Maria was able to explain each Pope’s story. The Church was breathtaking, though a bit challenging given the wealth and privilege on show. I was still thrilled to see it. The nativity scenes and the Mexican Christmas tree were bonus treats.

I booked guided Tour but Unfortunately, couldn't find the tour guide at the designated meeting place and the location was unclear, causing significant inconvenience and disappointment.
Upon arriving at the specified location, we waited for the tour guide but there was no sign of them. We attempted to contact the tour operator through multiple messages, but received no response. Despite our efforts to search the area, we could not find any representative or office to assist us.
In our search, we entered the Basilica and eventually found a tour guide. However, this guide informed us that he could not accommodate us in his group as he did not have extra headsets and his group was already full. This left us without any guidance or support for the tour we had paid for.
We continued to look for any signs of the tour operator’s office or a canopy that might provide assistance, but found nothing. The lack of communication and support from the tour operator was extremely frustrating and disappointing. We were left stranded without any information or help, which completely ruined our experience.

The first look and entrace to the Dome was very nice and amazing. The Basilica is very impressive. Going up the stairs I think isn‘t it for everybody because of the height and the thin air. All in all it was very good.

Great place but the tour guide was a little bored and talked more to herself instead of the group. We need to wait at the grotto as it was not opened until 9:30 and at the elevator for coups. Decided for the steps.

This was an amazing tour with an amazing guide. The lines were so long to get up to the dome and they somehow pulled some string to get us in front of everyone to do the climb. They were so great.
Please be aware EVERYONE has to stand in line to get into St. Peter’s basilica so book your tour early in the morning.

It was a great tour. Our tour guide, Maria, was very knowledgeable and great a directing us to manage the crowds. We enjoyed the beautiful views after climbing the steps to the top of the dome. It does narrow quite a bit so would not recommend if claustrophobic.

Going to the dome was an amazing experience, however, it was very disorganized. We were in line for about 30 minutes to go through security, then at the entrance of St Peter’s for another 45 minutes while two tour guides waited to get tickets. It seems we could have spent that time exploring the church rather than waiting in very crowded entrance only to have 5 minutes guide there. Guides spent significant time speaking to each other in Italian coordinating verses guiding.
The Vatican is beautiful and the tour was worth the money of only to secure space to visit in advance during busy tourist season (which did sell out very early), but set your expectations.

Our tour guide was very helpful and very knowledgeable. My husband and I visited back in 2007 and were able to get in line and do it all ourself. I think you can still do this, but if you are on a time crunch this is a great alternative. It was nice having someone providing great information especially for our two teenagers now. They really enjoyed the Dome hike and the view is breathtaking.
