Love free pick up

Suppakit_S, Jul 2025
It was convenient, the tour picked me up at my hotel 15 mins before the tour started. Got only 6 people in my group whereas other tours got more than 15 people. The tour guide, Roberta, did a good job. She prepared pictures with explanation for the chapel while other tours didn’t have ones. Recommended.

Great guide and good tour despite crowds and time-constraints

Tami_A, Oct 2024
Mara was a very good guide. Her English was excellent. Our group was mostly 50+, from what it appeared, and she progressed at an appropriate pace. Mara was pleasant and seemed to want to make sure all of us were doing ok during the tour. The tour itself was good despite tremendous crowds. We appreciated being able to spend more time in the basilica after the tour.

disappointed

Quint_v, Apr 2024
Price quality ratio was bad. Not good at all rushing trough the vatican musea without much interaction with us. I guess it had not made any difference if we booked a non-semi private tour that cost way less.

Great Day at the Vatican

Great tour 8 people. Very personal. Marina was excellent. Never rushed any of us. As beautiful an experience as one could ask gor

Perfect

Andrea_P, Nov 2023
I spent a lot of time researching and trying to decide what would be the best experience for me and my husband to tour the Vatican. Private or semi-private? Early morning or late afternoon? Three hours or five hours? I chose the semi-private, 2:00 pm, three hour tour. It was absolutely perfect. Perfect size in that with only 10 of us total, it was easy to keep up and stay with group. Time was perfect for sleeping in to help with jet lag and getting brunch before the tour. Length of three hours was the perfect amount of time for what my mind and body could actually absorb and endure. Our guide was outstanding. Knowledgeable, anticipated everyone’s needs and just so very kind and thorough with her history and back stories. Could not give a higher recommendation if I tried. Simply outstanding

Great Tour of the Vatican

Nicole_G, Nov 2023
Great tour of the Vatican! You can’t go to Rome without going to the Vatican, and seeing it with a tour guide who is so knowledgeable is a must. Would definitely recommend.

The guide made the tour great.

Rita_H, Oct 2023
Our guide was AMAZING! Very knowledgeable and informative. He went over the top for our experience. I always recommend Viatour to my friends for a great experience

Book this one!

Mike_W, Aug 2023
Just passing the line sitting immobile in the searing hot sun made it all worth it, but add to that the tremendous guide and the knowledge shared and it’s worth it. The limited size of our group (10) was also a plus.

Must do this!

So glad we did this. The lines and crazy long wait times we were able to jump ahead of alone was worth the cost.

It was pouring, so the tour was limited to inside. There were an enormous amount of people and groups that made it a little hard to take it all in.

Great Tour with Quite a Bit of Walking!

Randolph_M, Aug 2022
We had an excellent guide with a thorough knowledge of the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel. Some other guests did not seem to realize that this was a 3-hour walking tour or that baby strollers would be difficult to manage in some of the older buildings.

Tour could be worth the money if one goes at the right time.

This tour probably could have been wonderful, but failed short for several reasons. First, let me say the guide was wonderful. She knew the Vatican history, and tried very hard to keep her group together. I was there during the busiest week since before Covid-19. It was a holiday week, and the place was literally packed. The tour organizers picked us up almost an hour late, and when we joined the group everyone was upset. It was so crowded we couldn't get close enough to see anything, and the tour time ran out before we could even get to St. Peter's Basilica. The guide acutally stayed and walked with my grandson and me to the square to see the outside of the Basilica, but it was closed by the time we got there. I would suggest booking this tour on a week day, and as early as possible.

great guide informative tour

Ludvica was so awesome. She had great knowledge of the history, and everything you would want to know about the Vatican. Her English was clear so it was very easy to follow along. We had an enjoyable morning going at a slower pace with a smaller group. Highly recommend!!

My husband and I were thoroughly pleased with this tour. This semi-private experience coupled with being ushered by our tour guide through the official partners entrance made us feel like VIP's. Naturally, we were in awe of the beauty and magnificence of the Sistine Chapel. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable as well as likable and headset. The espresso and the headsets were nice touches. Well done! Thank you!

The tour was fabulous. Our guide was friendly and very knowledgeable, and being such a small group of us made for the perfect way to experience the Vatican. Seeing the Sistine Chapel and the Basilica is a must see when in Rome, and we would be quick to recommend this tour to our friends indeed.

Excellent way to see the Vatican...

Constance_D, May 2018
Excellent way to see the Vatican Museums prior to the crowds and with a private guide and only a small number of other visitors. Being a small group keeps the flow moving and the guide close. The guide was very knowledgeable and gave great insight into the vast amount of art involved in this experience. Very worthwhile and highly recommended.

We really had a great experience on the semi-private Vatican tour. We got so much more out of the experience by being in a small group than being part of a large group. The guide was very knowledgeable and came prepared with additional literature to enhance the tour. Not only did we visit the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel but also St.Peter's Basilica with NO LINE! The logistics were great too. We had nice welcome in the I Love Rome Lounge. They had comfortable couches where we could wait with free WIFI, espresso and bottles of water. This was the best way to experience the Vatican!

This tour was GREAT and I highly recommend it to ALL! First off the welcome in the I Love Rome Lounge was perfect to start. We got to wait indoors out of the hot sun and sit down comfortably on the sofas. The lounge area had FREE WIFI, which is always a plus. They gave you espresso and bottled water as you waited without any charge. That itself was wonderful! Next for the tour - it was nicely organized. You got to skip the WHOLE LINE while others were waiting in the sun the whole time. Just for the skipping of the line I would say it is a DEFINITE right there! With this you can even skip the line to St.Peter's Basilica. The tour guide was an educated person that answered all questions asked and in addition was such a sweet man. Amazing! Being a traveler, one thing I love is learning about the different cultures and taking guided tours but not all are tours are worth the cost and I do not always feel educated after leaving. This tour not only educated me but was WELL WORTH it overall - in every aspect. As everyone knows, museums also get crowded and I hate waiting on lines in the heat so thankfully I did not have to. Again the lounge was helpful and did not make me start the day sweaty and cranky which always makes the experience worse. LOVE IT!!

Our family truly enjoyed the guided tour - the tour guide was great and very informative. Well worth it. Be sure to climb to the roof if possible.

Maria_B, Mar 2018
It was super crowded. The tour guide spent no more than 10 minutes talking about the sistine chapel. Although he said, Feel free to ask any questions in my opinion it should be him telling us more about it, than us trying to get the info. His accent was very strong and vocabulary not very rich, which made it harder to follow the explanations.
