5* with a caveat(read to the end). Our initial tour which included the ‘Underground’ was cancelled late the day before. Viator helped book this one which was obviously more expensive, so straight away I am a bit cross. That said the comms on WhatsApp from this tour was good. Meeting was easy ish, we were there 25 mins early but took a call from our guide to find him as his flag did not have the right name on. They took us to the Forum, gave us a brief overview and left us, which TBH i was OK with. Might have been nice to be given a bit of a walk around with some info. Then back to the meeting place for the coliseum. All of a sudden we are now in a much bigger group, given head sets and off we go. Our guide was really grumpy which to be fair we all found hilarious. He was knowledgeable and those who stayed will have took much from it. What really annoyed me was that a young lad, travelling on his own, just rocked up and was taken on the tour for 60 euro. He was a nice kid and stuck with myself and my wife throughout, but how the hell does that happen!!!! That said, the queues are enormous, but the coliseum is awesome. Would deffo recommend booking a tour, but if you are there for a week say, rock up at 10:30 and do a deal for cash :) BTW, you don’t need to do the underground, you really can see everything you need to from the other tours
