We were fortunate to have a private tour. The knowledge of our tour guide was so impressive. We enjoyed learning the history of this area from someone who transported us back in time. She knew so much about all the churches, the artwork, the sculptures, and the history. There is so much to learn, and our guide took her time explaining the details of what we were looking at.

PLEASE NOTE: The underground area of the Basilica di San Crisogono is open Monday to Friday only from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM (they are open all day on Saturday and Sunday). As a result, the undergrounds cannot be visited during the morning tours from Monday to Friday. However, the duration of the tour will remain unchanged, as your guide will point out other monuments instead

Very interesting and engaging. Walking beneath the churches made us understand the evolution of the Romans from their Pagan beliefs to Christianity. It’s a good pace so definitely have a good walking shoes to enjoy more sights.
