Our transfer from our cruise terminal to the airport hotel was smooth and timely. The driver was on time and was in touch with me to let me know ow exactly where he would meet us. The van was spotless and the driver was safe and friendly. I would recommend this transfer service to anyone looking for an uncomplicated way to end your cruise in Rome!

This was absolutely the best way to get from the cruise dock to our hotel in Rome. Our driver, Orlando made the whole process simple and stress-free. He provided me with a picture of himself and the sign I was to look for upon departing customs. It was wonderful.

Waited too long for a good ride

Driver was 20 minutes late on the pick up time. He did communicate about 4 minutes before his expected arrival time that he was on his way. I did need to message him 20 minutes later to ask for his ETA. I would recommend another option if available. Once the driver arrived he was very friendly and helpful.

We are happy that the ride went well and we are sorry for the delay, unfortunately there was an accident on the road to Civitavecchia and the driver could not always answer the phone as he was driving and it would have been unsafe

Trip back to Rome from Port.

The trip back into Rome center could not have been any easier. Our driver ( Marco) was waiting for us as soon as we disembarked from the ship and was very friendly and kind. Took us about 1 1/2. Hours to get back to our hotel and the whole event was effortless.

We are sorry to read this review as on that day there was an accident on the way to the port, hence the traffic: our driver promptly called to inform you, kept you updated for her arrival time, and then did everything she could to quickly get you to the hotel. Unfortunately the situation was unexpected and out of our control but our driver still did her best to guarantee a good service.

Great post cruise transport without any of the surrounding chaos. Our driving picked us up in the private transports parking lot with a sign. There were 7 of us (one needing a car seat) and as requested, everything was provided. He was right on time when we came out and fit a ton of luggage from half our party in the car plus ours without issue. Nice comfortable 75 minute drive to our airport bnb in Rome. Great too since the trains were closed that day for strike!

The ride from the Fiumicino Airport into Rome went smoothly. However, once we were near our hotel the driver dropped us off a block away giving us the impression it would be difficult to drive closer. Each person in the party had multiple pieces of luggage and maneuvering on cobblestone was difficult. We used a different company on the return to the airport. The driver from this company pulled up by our hotel, came into the hotel and loaded all of the luggage on the van. This was the type of service we expected from Viator, but we were sorely disappointed. In addition, the second company gave us a much better price for the transportation.

We are sorry to read this review as it is only partially true. It is true that our driver couldn't leave you in front of your hotel, however it was because the road was unfortunately too narrow for the van and was also a pedestrian area (we have pictures to prove this). However your destination was less than 50 meters from where the driver was forced to leave you. If another driver picked you up in front of your hotel it means that his van was smaller and that he also violated traffic laws.

These people are scammers. I booked and paid for a minivan because my wife requires a wheelchair. They contacted the night before and said that due to my wife having a wheelchair I would need a minivan and in order to get I would have to pay the driver an additional 50 euros.

We are sorry to read this review as it it not true. First of all you did NOT book and pay for a minivan but for a sedan. That is why we asked you if you wanted to upgrade to a van to be more comfortable. You said yes so we proceeded with the upgrade. Otherwise we would have simply sent a sedan that you booked and paid for.

We are sorry to read this review as it is not exactly true. It is true that our driver's car unfortunately broke down when he arrived at the port (and for this both us and him profusely apologized to you), however we clearly said that we would fully refund you for the ride if you choose to take a taxi to the hotel so you'd be able to pay for the taxi with the refunded money. You choose, instead, to go with one of our driver's coworkers that was picking up other customers and that was there at the same time for a mere coincidence. You said that you did not want a refund, did non want to take a taxi and did not want to wait for another car to come pick you up so we feel this review is unfair.

We are sorry to read this review as this is not exactly what happened. The driver was around 10 minutes late (not 30) due to routine control procedures at the port and for this both he and us apologized. He also messaged you ahead of time about this 10 minutes delay and you replied that it was fine. A few minutes after this message exchange you called us stating that the driver was nowhere to be seen, did not contact you and left you stranded. When we contacted the driver he was literally approaching you to pick you up (this was at about 10:15). Furthermore we want to clarify that you did not book a Mercedes van because, as per the product description, for 1 or 2 customers we always send a sedan.

Not a great experience

The driver was 25 minutes late and didn’t communicate until I reached out to him. He didn’t speak any English, so communication was difficult. Then he had no idea where our hotel was, even though the address was provided ahead of time. He had to stop several times for directions. We had it on our GPS and tried to show him but he didn’t understand. His driving was terrible, weaving in an out and heavy gas and breaking. He did carry my suitcase a small walk to the hotel which was nice. Overall it was not a great experience. We could have just snagged a cab for the same price or less. There were plenty available.

We are sorry to read this review as it is not entirely true. Our driver was 10 minutes late, and for this we apologize, but it was because he was being held for a bit (like others) for routine security checks by the port staff. He did arrive at the hotel's address, however there were no signs with the hotel's name so he just stopped to ask if the location was correct. We also can assure you that he always was within the speed limits.

Do not book with Roman Travel. Paid in advance once the driver arrive no longer could accommodate our luggage. The driver request for a second van to take to us to the hotel, half way there demanded additional payment if we didn't pay at that moment threatened to put us out in the middle of no where. We had no other choice but to pay an additional $200.00 Please beware

The Best way to travel from Port to Rome city

This is the best option when leaving port and getting to Rome. Our driver was awesome and helped us get all of our luggage from port curbside to bus black Mercedes van. Very friendly and helping as we were traveling with a 1 year old. He has car seat already in van at no additional cost. The drive was about an hour from port to our hotel in Rome. While the price here may seem a bit steep, this private transfer was a lot cheaper than arranging transportation thru Royal Caribbean, which was $95 per person and was not private so the drop off would have been on the city center of Rome and we would have had to arrange an Uber to get us to hotel. They do charge per person regardless of age. Still a much cheaper way to go and a clean, comfortable, personalized experience with a professional driver.

Be sure the driver knows exactly where to pick you up. Although the local company confirmed the pickup location, the driver said he was told different information. Once he found us, his driving was perfect and he hit us to our destination with no trouble.
